Victor Ruiz - Live Set At Fusion Festival (2016)

Russian duo Doyeq, the least known of the talents here, who deliver the most experimental of the efforts. They spend long minutes in nearly ambient sections with only the bassline anchoring the groove before stepping forwards into a fuller, darker house groove with haunting vocals controlling the mood.

Ein Album, das zwischen zwei Städten entstanden ist. Zwischen Hamburg und Berlin. Also ein Intercity Album. Aber was liegt zwischen den Städten? Wald und Wiese. Die Musik des Albums ist geprägt durch Wald und Wiese, durch viele Jahre Festival mit Ferienkommunismus, unzähligen Open Airs und vielen Clubs, in denen vornehmlich aus Holz gebaut wird. Bass ist Holz und Holz wächst im Wald und die Musik ist auf Bass gebaut, also ist das Album eigentlich ein Haus, solide und warm. Hää..na egal, na ja und dann kommt noch einer der besten Bassläufe der Musik-geschichte aus einem Wald mit Kurhaus von Weltruf, da schliesst sich dann der Kreis.

Das Debütalbum “A Forest” von Soukie & Windish ist das Extrakt eines eigenen Stils, den die beiden über die letzten 6 Jahre und mehr als 30 Veröffentlichungen entwickelt haben. Es ist deep, aber kein deep house, es ist trancig aber kein trance, es ist langsam aber kein downbeat. Zeit für Neologismen: slow trance, rolling house, down techno...whatever, you name it. Auf jeden Fall ist es Musik, die immer funktioniert, auf den Ohren, auf der Tanzfläche und danach, buten und binnen (draussen und drinnen). Es gibt kein Konzept, es ist einfach eine Vorstellung davon, dass Musik eingängig sein muss ohne Mainstream zu sein, Musik die auffällt ohne zu nerven. Musik mit Mut zum Kitsch, die nie schmierig wird aber doch im Ohr kleben bleibt.

An album written and produced between two cities, Hamburg and Berlin that is. 
So you can call Soukie & Windish an overland train production duo. And what landscpes are lying in between these two big cities? You guessed it, some vast forest and green meadows. And this album is heavily affected by these landscapes plus diverse festival and open-air gigs with communistic tent camps and far too many gigs in Berlin clubs that are mainly made out of wood. That´s why Soukie & Windish  called their debut album “A Forest”, as simple as that. 
The album is an extract of their own unique style that they have established by six years of production work and solid 30 releases on various labels. 

The music is deep but no deep House, it is trancy but certainly not Trance, it is slow but no Downbeat, it´s catchy but not Pop. So you can call it what you want, in the end it´s functional and modern electronic music. No boundaries involved and the songs are working at home as good as on dancefloors in sweaty clubs and surely for after-hours or in your car. 

Soukie & Windish produced “A Forest” without any kind of higher-ranking concept or ideology. The charming duo simply aimed for some smart catchiness without sounding cheesy and too “now” at all. They wrote clever melodies and combined them with some inserted vocals plus subtle electronic beats. The music on this album is certainly neither mainstream nor leftfield and even though Soukie & Windish are not afraid of kitsch, this album sticks with you for quite a while….

Silicone Soul's Craig Morrison and Graeme Reedie have lined up a succession of exciting releases and events to mark ten years since their subterranean parallel project and label, Darkroom Dubs first unleashed its uniquely idiosyncratic take on house music. 

Charged with the purest distillation of the edgy early hours spirit from which house music was originally forged, Darkroom Dubs has become renowned for Silicone Soul's walks on the dark side and for showcasing likeminded producers, drawn to mining the deepest substratas with a freedom to explore in; the ultimate bastion of deep electronic dance music.

We feel stoked to finally welcome M.A.N.D.Y. and Lopazz with their first Original EP on Cityfox. After M.A.N.D.Y.'s contribution to our last years Label Compilation this felt more than right. Featuring stunning vocals by Nick Maurer, this is a very special and unusual construction of different layers and trippy sounds. The mysterious Baikal rises the Trip-level and dynamics. His name obviously comes from the world 's deepest lake, his interpretation is multi-layered music for the heart, mind and feet. Preferably all at the same time. Adriatique is on fire and brings the perfect balance into the package with their signature catchy way of highlighting the main elements and vocal lines of the original. Combined with a wobbling bassline and epic melodies this is the sound we want to hear this summer!
