Unglaublich, wir haben die Nummer 50 geknackt! Vor gerade mal zwei Jahren starteten wir unseren hauseigenen Podcast, welcher bis heute ausschliesslich Mixes von Schweizer Künstlerinnen und Künstlern enthält. Dementsprechend möchten wir euch auch zu unserem 50. Jubiläum ein Set eines ganz besonderen Schweizer Künstlers näher ans Herz legen: Vorhang auf für Patrick Podage!

Der Berner Überflieger ist aus der Schweizer Clubszene schon lange nicht mehr wegzudenken. Landauf, landab zieht der 28 jährige Produzent einen Club nachdem anderen in seinen Bann. Doch das ist bei weitem nicht alles. Zu seinen Engagements im Inland kann der Hauptstädter auf unzählige Gigs auf der ganzen Welt zurückblicken, so etwa in China, Russland, Spanien oder vielen weiteren Destinationen. Es gibt praktisch kein Land, in welchem er sein Können noch nicht unter Beweis stellen durfte. Bei einer solchen Flut an Gigs und Auftritten vergisst man schon fast, dass Patrick Podage zudem ein exzellenter Musikproduzent ist. Seine Tracks haben stets diese prägnante Basslinie gepaart mit dem gewissen Etwas. Dazu kommt, dass er sich einen Namen als unermüdlicher Remixer für alle Grössen des internationalen elektronischen Musikbusiness gemacht hat.

Doch wie ist Patrick Podage eigentlich zur Musik gekommen und was hat sich seit seinem letzten Mix für Unsere Beweggründe (Podcast 006) in seiner Musikkarriere so verändert? Wir hatten das Vergnügen mit Patrick Podage über sein Treiben als Musiker zu plaudern…

Based in Berlin but originally from Italy, Soul Button has undoubtedly made a distinctive mark on the Melodic Techno scene, starting his personal project in 2012 along with the launch of his label and brand, Steyoyoke Recordings. As the inventor and trademark owner of the Ethereal Techno subgenre, his artist name, Soul Button, reflects a strong conceptual identity.

Soul Button transformed his label into a real brand, first establishing the two sub-labels Steyoyoke Black and Inner Symphony, and later developing his own clothing brand, SYYK Berlin, as well as his own publishing company, SYYK Publishing. Well known in the electronic music scene as one of the most skilled DJs and producers, for his mental and soulful sets and tracks, Soul Button has affirmed his international exposure.

His career took off with many successful singles like "Swift Minds" and "Wraith", the latter featuring acclaimed American vocalist Terry Grant. Tracks like "Reverie" and "Metamorphosis" were a great anticipation of his first album, released in December 2019, "Phantom Existence", a 13-original track album that marked a significant moment in his career, followed by a remix edition in April 2020.

Recent years have seen continued success with the release of the "Pantheon" EP alongside Monarke, and singles such as "God Save The Rave", "Crescendo", "Merine", "Infinitude", and "Dalliance", capturing the attention of techno enthusiasts worldwide. His latest work includes "Walking Straight Up", a single that highlights his ascent in 2023, together with the collection, "Dual Realms of Sound", which was a testament to Soul Button's evolving sound and his ability to capture the duality of rhythm and melody, further solidifying his place in the techno realm. 2024 sees his second official album "Master Minds", which will be launched in April 2024, with preceding singles "Lumina" and "Tartribe".

Having cemented himself firmly in the scene, Soul Button maintains focus on the continuous growth and development of his labels as well as his own personal career. The upcoming years will surely be busy with new tours and projects on the horizon.
