‘Missing You’ is back for 2014 with a brace of new mixes and set for release on both digital and physical formats over the coming weeks.



Originally released to widespread acclaim in May last year, the sun-blissed grooves and melodies of ‘Missing You’ are back for 2014 with a brace of new mixes and set for release on both digital and vinyl formats over the coming weeks.



On the A-side of this new package is something rather special. Extra Dry originally approached Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper to produce a Director’s Cut remix on this record early in 2014. In his own words Eric Kupper explains how the mix came about…



“I have been regularly playing the original version of this amazingly beautiful record since I first received it last year and I was originally scheduled to do this mix with my musical partner-in-crime, Frankie Knuckles. After his untimely passing, I still really wanted to remix this record – in the Director’s Cut style we had carefully honed over the years – with his guidance from above. “And I’m Still Missing Him”…forever. It is with real honor and respect that we present Eric Kupper’s ‘Director’s Cut Tribute To FK’ Mix on this release.

Leading up the B-side are Nineteen96. Fresh from a recent release on Strictly Rhythm, the Nineteen96 boys deliver a mix that take ‘Missing You’ in a really fresh direction. The digital package is completed by the two mixes from Artful and Ridney themselves while the vinyl release feature the exclusive ‘Vinyl-a-pella’.



This release on ‘Missing You’  will be available exclusively on Traxsource from Monday 21st July with a full digital release following on Monday 18th August. Limited edition red 12” vinyl will be available in September. This release has been put together by Extra Dry in collaboration with SoSure Music. Teni Tinks, a session vocalist and arranger who has worked with the likes of Rudimental, Quincy Jones and The Jacksons, lays down fresh vocals on the Sharon Redd anthem from 1980, now laden with fresh horns, strings and arrangement on the Club Mix. The king of disco re-edits Dr Packer slows the composition down, highlighting the impressive instrumental with filtered vocals beneath for a more classic sounding version of this wonderfully life-affirming record.

When you hear a track as good as ‘No Price’, it is unsurprising to find out it was made by one of America’s most established music producers. Arthur Baker, who has set out to get dancefloors moving since the 1970s, has collaborated with musicians such as New Order, Afrika Bambaataa and the Pet Shop Boys, and also works under the alias Slam Dunk’d. With vocals from award-winning Canadians Chromeo, the collaboration between them and Slam Dunk’d made for an extra special Glitterbox release. Now Dr Packer steps up to remixing duties of this self-assured party starter, as the Australian disco maestro lends his bodacious disco-infused capabilities to the record. Up next, burgeoning artist Demi Riquisimo delivers a heavier club cut, stripping back the vocal and laying down the tech effects. This is another red-hot delivery from the Glitterbox camp set to get dancefloors moving.
