Nesta Rae - Stay (Soular Order Remix)

On August 15th, 1977, the Big Ear radio telescope in Delaware, Ohio picked up something quite unique. Upon seeing a readout of high intensity radio signals, Jerry R. Ehman wrote on the ticker-tape recording the telescope readout a single word: "Wow!" Thus, this transmission is referred to as the Wow! signal. More information can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wow_signal. 

This youtube video, found at http://youtu.be/pcSWDzd2cDU, and many others claim that the audio they present is an audible representation of the signal, but unless the mystery is much more simple than the 30 years of research leads me to believe it is, this is not the real signal. 

This audio clip contains the audio from the video at a higher volume, one that has been reduced to 15 seconds in length, and finally one that is 5 seconds in length. As you can hear, this is obviously human speech. In fact, it is the transmission found in this youtube video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSw19jv3nVQ, at 38 seconds. 

Be aware, the audio contains some high frequencies that might be difficult to listen to. 

I hope that this quells some crackpot theories and brings a little skepticism to stories like this.
