A&R Edits #8 Moving in Sound - Peza rework

"Onda" is something of a lazy sunshine classic; a perfect example of laidback Brazilian jazz-funk that blends a samba sensibility with distinct soul, funk and disco influences. The original single by Brazilian composer-turned-artist Genival Cassiano dos Santos, has long been an in-demand item for Disco and Balearic DJs. 

For this edit we worked with our Brazillian pals Fatnotronic adding some extra percussion, an acid line, and some new textures to the already awesome original.

It first appeared on our "Stir It Up" mixtape and Fatnotronic's Diplo & Friends BBC Radio1 mix. Soon it will see a vinyl release on Chit Chat's "Brazilian Edits" series Volume 1. Available October 2014 via Chit Chat Records.

It is a sweet & sexy Nu-Disco rework to which I added many new synth, bass lines, drums & percussions, that you should play as an early jam, or to make love tonight ;-)

Well well well... Let's Credit This Properly And Give The Props To Whom Truly Deserve It... 

I Found About 2 Weeks Ago This Edit Of The Bee Gees Classic Dropped By Japanese BEATEN SPACE PROBE On Soundcloud, And No Need To Say That This Is A Great Rework, Really Creative And Carefully Made. 

I Just Thought When Listening To It That I Should Do A Recut Version, In Which I Would Focus Strickly On This Crazy Catchy First Part Of The Song, And Make It A Good Warm Up Track For The Dancefloor. 

But Let's Say It Clearly, I Wouldn't Have Had This Idea Of Working On This If I Didn't Have The Chance To Listen To Beaten Space Probe brilliant edit. Props To You Guys!!!

Another addition to this series of edits. I was looping the start of Golden Lady at a gig recently and mixing it with something off Keep Up and it seemed like the right thing to do.

I love this track deeply so I hope you will forgive me chopping it - it is honestly done with love. Nothing could improve the original - I was simply taking it somewhere else for DJing purposes. x

If Daft Punk had written their song "Teachers" today, they would most definitely have had to include Herbie Hancock on the list... at least the late 70's version of Herbie that produced the cut edited here. Those crisp disco drums, rubbery bass line and, most noticeably, those talk box vocals, are featured all over their new album! But Herbie was doing it 35 years ago. Here's to the originators!
