This is a collaboration we did during a 3 day Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp in San Francisco. Everything in this track was created and recorded in 1.5 days in the hotel room where RBMA had set up a few gears for us. Shouts to Red Bull Music Academy!!

You may be familiar with Sivey from his collaborative record with Evil Needle, 'Constructive Interference', released on Soulection in summer of 2014 or you may have caught one of his uptempo, dreamy DJ sets in and around London.

The Manchester-based producer who seamlessly combines a number of varied aesthetics with his unique, moody synth progressions comes correct with the 17th installation in our White Label Series.

In a cohesive 4-part story, Sivey takes us through slow jams, house and future sounds with broken rhythm grooves reminiscent of jazz fusion.

"I chose these tracks because I felt they represent a good mixture of my influences and styles I like to experiment with” Sivey told us.

Sivey creates his moody sounds using FL Studio and enjoys the challenge of pushing the boundaries of how midi can be used to create live sounding music.

We remember when we first heard this track on JuSoul's 'ROCK BOTTOM' release & instantly fell in love. J Dilla's 'Think Twice' is one of our favorite tracks of all time by Dilla so when we heard this it hit us right in the chest. 

JuSoul is all the way from Germany and it's very inspiring to hear him create future-soul music. With all the new forms & different sounds coming out in the world, it honestly feels great to hear someone still creating this style of sound. Look out for JuSoul to drop an EP with us in the future. It was back in October 2012 after a Soulection Radio session that Esta was really brought to our attention.We landed on his Soundcloud and we were immediately impressed by his catalog of production. It was this feeling that we felt as if we were behind on time musically and had been missing out on one of the most diverse artists that we never heard of. Within no time we reached out and started working on Gradient.

There is an undeniable presence that Esta creates within his music that will have you wanting more. Gradient brings sound barriers together to create a well-balanced sound that incorporates soulful and future-bass vibrations. Whether it's high energy drum and melodic patterns or timeless vocal chops from Quadron or M.I.A., Esta manages to bring all avenues of sound together as one. This is just the first of many Soulection releases to come from Esta. This man is here to change the sound of tomorrow.
