It's been about 3 months or more since there has been no guest on Soulection Radio. It's been an amazing journey of having so many different personalities roll through the station and educate us with their production, selections, knowledge, and experiences. This week Joe Kay wanted to let loose and focus strictly on his selection. Within 3 hours Joe dropped just over 100 tracks, that's right over 100! Make sure to open up another tab on your internet browser and start googling/pasting some of these artists/tracks that you are feeling. There is so much heat from forthcoming material, new, and forgotten.

There is no live show today since Kbeach is broadcasting live from a big city event that is going on however Joe wanted to still put together a nice 60+ minute mix of some selects to hold you off until next week! Joe recorded this at the Soulection HQ and made sure to incorporate the energy that was flowing through the room that day. Shouts to Eric Coleman, Andres, J-Louis, Mike Gao, and Colta who were all vibing out with us. Joe took it back to the essence and brought back the classic feel good joints as well as his current standouts from the past couple of weeks!

Coming off a great Thanksgiving holiday week here in the States we decided to keep things focused on our selections. There was no special guest in studio with us but Joe Kay really displayed a crazy selection of music that will have you copying/pasting consistently within Google for some time. There are a lot of new tunes sprinkled with the 'feel-good' classics that we always connect to our sets. Most producers stick to one lane. There are those who dedicate themselves solely to producing tracks for Hip Hop artists and those who invest their creativity in instrumental music. Jansport J is one of the few artists who manages to walk both paths simultaneously: amassing an impressive discography of instrumental beat tapes, as well as placing beats with the likes of Nas, Benny The Butcher, Snoop Dogg, The Game and Stalley to name a few.

We caught up with Jansport to discuss his creative approach, his proudest achievements, and what makes him tick as an artist.
