The date is May 13th, 1999. "Agnelli & Nelson - Everytime" a melodic instrumental with a direct line to your heart strings, has only just begun it's ascent, eventually storming on to the dance music scene at the height of electronic music's moodiest phase, an era that would be fair to refer to as the teenage years of this now global revolution.  Driven by intention, rather than ego, feeling & function rather than image & acceptance, Everytime possessed all of the ingredients that made that moment become a movement. Epic, emotional and powerful, Trance truly was a different beast in 1999. 

Fast forward three years, production powerhouse "Alex Gold" revisits the Xtravaganza Recordings release to great effect, adding goose-bump worthy vocal from "who the hell knows" (seriously, can't find any mention of this woman's name ANYWHERE).... and here we are. 17 years later, it's my turn. 
Track number 1 of 20, on the farewell tour for the Soulfix alias, in the studio, before I leave that name behind, to focus on other musical projects. 

In many ways, this remix is a reboot and a throwback to those times, to the deep automation, the emotive melodies, and the strive for results on the dance floor, rather than stats on the internet.

Flashback, May, 1994.  "No Good (Start the Dance)",  Prodigy's  re-invention of the 1987 Hit "You're No Good for Me" by Kelly Charles, has just hit the shelf and the response is massive. Written and produced by the English trio's front man, Liam Howlett for their second studio album "Music for the Jilted Generation", the track was intended as "a response to all that shit Eurodance stuff", despite the obligatory pop vocal loop.

Fast forward a decade or two. We're about to do the similar work. Fuck what's popular, fuck what all these goons think, wear what you want, be what you want, bang it as hard as you want. ;)
On that note, for accuracy's sake... this is less of a  remix of The Prodigy and much more a remix of "Numbskulls - Give it Some Stick". Give it some stick was a top tune in my rave playlists of old, but since has become a bit dated. Still, it was a belter, a savage early 2000's hardhouse offering from Trooper Tunes label, out of the UK and it deserved to be revisited. 
Why? Cuz' we can. Cuz' hard house 'n' stuff. Bitches.
