Probably the only time you'll hear me rapping :D

I didn't intend to rap on this until the beat was finished. Instead of writing the lyrics, I just freestyled some stuff into the mic of my phone and laid it over the beat. 

Shout out to Brockhampton and other producers and rap groups for pioneering that overdriven 808 sound. I wanted to make a beat where at the end section it would literally feel like it's breaking and falling apart ahaha.

Slow Motion Tilt

This track is a true hodgepodge as it features a mixture of sounds and flavours - hip-hopish drum beat, chords borrowed from electronica, glitch percussions, occasional drill bass climbs, ambient pads, sonorous melodies and trippy FX. 

P.S., That's the only issue with this track is that the low end is kind of muddy...  Fellow producers! Never add different grooves or swings to your kicks and basses :D - this will make them go out of phase and make the low end sound incoherent. If you want to add a groove, stick to a single groove. That's the only issue with this track in my opinion. Otherwise, pretty solid idea I believe...

Eternal Second

I was commissioned to compose a 15 minute track that could be used for breathwork exercises. I was inspired by the shamanic vibes of other breathwork tracks, so I wanted to capture something similar here. The idea was to code and assign inhales, exhales and breath holds to various sounds in the track (a chime, a short drum roll and a gong, respectively) so that there would be no need make a voice-over that would say "IN", "OUT", "HOLD". This track is also ideal as background music for those who do yoga and other forms of exercise due to its repetitiveness and its long form.

Background: There was a party at my parents' house a few weeks ago and our good friend Grabych wanted to make satsebeli, a traditional Georgian tomato sauce. While he was preparing the ingredients and cutting everything up, I was having a chat with Tom Whyld about music production and different audio stuff, and we make a joke that all of these kitchen sounds that we're hearing now should be recorded and made into a track. Right after we said that, I decided that this idea was too good to be thrown away, so I quickly grabbed my phone and recorded whatever was happening in the kitchen at that time - Grabych cutting up some veggies, taking out the dishes, small conversations that the people were having, 5L oil canister, the sound of the blender, etc. I also recorded some extra kitchen sounds afterwards to have more audio files at my disposal (playing with forks, lid of a cooking pan, spoons, etc.). After all of that was done, I proceeded to make a track, and this is what I ended up with - some kitchen hardgroove stuff :D

Except for the kick drum that I had laying around in my samples, no other sounds but the ones I recorded myself were used. Big thanks to Tom Whyld and Pabbo for some additional production tips (damp reverb on kick suggestion and techno rides suggestion, respectively). Also, Tom Whyld helped me to program a sick 303 pattern, but it didn't make the final cut because I wanted to only use the sounds that I recorded on my phone to stay true to the found sound aesthetic.

If you've never tried satsebeli or Georgian cuisine, give it a try! It's delicious! :)
