Raw Vibez EP contains four dancefloor oriented tracks, largely inspired by the early 90's NY / New Jersey house music sound.
Soulful chords and melodic piano sequences backed up with spoken sampled vocal is the domain of EP's opening track - "Make the Change". Groovy drums and funky basslinecombined withdeepunderground feeling - that's amix that always guarantees success on the dancefloor.

"NY Jukebox" is a blend of garage beats with punchy bass, chopped up vocals and repetitive melody composed with sampled chords, that can put listeners into a party mood easily. Funky vibe with catchy melody and shuffling percussion sets in motion all fans of truly underground dance music.
The last track, splitted into two parts "Raw Vibez Part I & II" is much more darker composition. Both parts are tribute to the roots of house and techno music. Raw 909 beat, deep bass , dirty organ samples, high pitched strings and classic synthesizer sounds from the previous era is what makes these tunes feel like a "classic" dancefloorkiller tracksfrom back in the days. Plain old school with a modern twist - this is how one could easily describe it. Does the damage everytime it's dropped - both tracksputs the whole party into a deep hypnotic state.
All tracks on the EP share a common thing: strong references to the true roots of underground house music. Fans of that kind of sound shouldn't be disappointed.

The Lisbon-based No, She Doesn’t is more than just a label, it’s a movement. An open-minded outlook on life has led the collective to take pride in representing values such as equality and freedom, not forgetting to have fun along the way. Their nonchalant take on house has already won many fans around the world, while the names of the crew like DJ Spielberg, DJ Unsure or DJ Legwarmer speak volumes on how serious they take themselves.

It is the Full On EP from the latter that we’ll be taking a closer look today, which the debut release from the up-and-coming producer. With the usual sample-heavy approach, the Portuguese label aficionado has delivered four smashing cuts, just in time to drench the dancefloors this summer. Taking influences from disco and RnB, masterfully layering them and adding a touch of nostalgia, DJ Legwarmer comes up with a winning formula and the EP title seems ever more fitting. 

Opening with ‘Quandary’, an untamed belt of rhythm activity steeped in lush disco fragments, the EP follows with the title track ‘Full On’, atomized with an addictive groove and unexpected tricks. On the flip side, we find a dreamy cut of exotica on ‘Emotion/Behaviour’, before ‘Mar De Nuvens’, the final piece where DJ Legwarmer demonstrates his instinctive feel for emotive and catchy samples that we won’t get tired of. Between self-absorption and euphoria, Full On is a must have, anytime, anywhere.

Soul Habitat is an independent deep house project with musical roots firmly attached to early garage house style. At the same time, it pays tribute to the artists, who were creating the genre and the scene in 80's and 90's. Raw drum sounds, sampled organs along with classic swing grooves - each of Soul Habitat tunes brings the essence of retrospective house music with a modern twist. Throughout the organic and dirty sound , the tracks at some point reflects human life lines - full of imperfections , jumps and sudden twists and turns, but still harmonious and resonant . You can find some melodic parts that are repeated throughout the song and those that only appear for a moment and never returns.

All of the tracks are largely inspired by the life of big cities - New York, London, Paris along with many others. The musical flavor of the productions is a combination of sound experiences gained from traveling to those places and inspirations that have been collected by listening to various music genres over the years. Each of the pieces is very often associated to distinctive architecture, cultural heritage and regular way of life of the inhabitants of large cities.

When it comes to mixing, Soul Habitat is no newcomer to the scene. More than 10 years of experience in the production and DJ-ing different genres helped to evolve a unique style of playing sets. Combining raw bouncing beats and melancholic soulful tunes, the sets that Soul Habitat plays are the essence from the classic "golden era" style of house music. And they are 100% vinyl.
Musical inspirations comes primarily from artists based in U.S., UK and France - especially those, who promote classical deep house and garage sounds, f.e. : Bicep , Washerman , NY Stomp (Gerd ) , Kool Vibe , DJ Steaw , Detroit Swindle , Motor City Drum Ensemble, DJ Nav, Ringard , Squarehead , The Groove Victim , New Jack City, Brawther, Enrico Mantini, Ultra Knites and many others .
