The prodigal son returns with this 3 track ep of innovative club music. The palette will be familiar to the Scottish producer's growing fanbase, but things have clearly evolved on every level: finely crystallized percussion is the star of the show here, layered expertly into swinging grooves, accented by subtle melodies and hammered home by deep warehouse-grade bass.

A-side Blades of Brasil is a top class stealth bomber of a track- the tempo hangs down at 115 and the beats are low-slung, but the chug is fierce, the percussion sounds absolutely mesmerizing, and the build-up moves forward with an unwavering force of inevitability… a massive groundswell of bass emerges from the slow rolling magma core, highlighted by futuristic sirens, slick rides and laser-glazed zaps. Subtle all around, but truly masterful. 

Swoon picks up the tempo and adds a hooky vocal, carried forward by tense stabs and syncopated claps. A track that single-handedly gives the mostly irrelevant 'tech-house' genre a reason to exist. Amen.

Finally, Made of Something is playful by comparison to the other tracks, hitting at pop talent with the dubbed vocal and melodic build of the pads before dropping back in to a killer funk pattern of sick hi-tech drums and resonant hits popping off with brilliantly timed delays. 

The arrangement stays interesting the whole way through the EP. There's nothing obvious here, just raw talent compressed into clanging Scottish warehouse funk.

SQL is known for his warm yet energetic productions and live sets throughout the globe. This new EP is an absolutely rock solid four tracker with everything from happy summer warmth to smooth techno.

First up is Surrender. This could be one of the happiest, sunniest yet powerful tracks you’ll hear this summer! The chords, which open up beautifully in the break, are so optimistic and warm they could be prescribed as an anti-depressant. The groove on the other hand driven by über funky snares, claps and rattling high hats will make you want to take that new found optimism and pretend like Monday doesn’t exist!
 
‘Collect’ is a hypnotic groover with lots of energy and funk. With ever changing and evolving ambient noises in the background and a punishing chord bleep, this track has an almost sinister feel to it. As though you might be punished if you don’t rip up the floor.

‘Reveal’ is best used to end a warm summer day on an outside dance floor with your eyes closed. Grooving to the spacey synths and driving percussion. Be sure to have this one handy when the sun sets! Kassey Voorn rocks the EP with a more pumping approach with his remix focussing on a phat kick and bass line but with a melodic breakdown to catch your breath.

No Name is the first track of the 2 and it’s a freaky one. It starts with a low bpm bassline then the dark techy synths and metal sounding percussion come in that give it a very freaky and underground feel to this track.
The second track, Gdl, is another slow stomper with a dark and sexy bass and warm synths and effects soaring around, keeping you in the groove.

Twin Turbo diagnoses you with borderline personality disorder with "Robots Over Madrid", the latest from noted Spaniards Borderline. Featuring a remix by In Flagranti.

Following the 2011 Turbo release of "Stay," a chart favorite of Tiga, Roman Fluegel, Ivan Smagghe, and Rebolledo, Borderline return with "Make Me Crazy," a departure from the established Twin Turbo sound, in that it does not sound like the aural equivalent of being beaten into submission with a brick of E.

The A-side finds the Spanish duo riding a classy, hypnotic funk groove that gradually reveals darker edges as it progresses, combining strains of disco, house and techno into a seamless, stronger whole. B-side "Halloween" amps up the stakes with a creepy vocal sample, pulsing arpeggiated baseline, and massive early buildup, without ever venturing all the way into the "banger" darkside.

For the remix, we made a suitable offer to Swiss-based Codek disco vets In Flagranti, who dim the lights and accentuate the more sinister aspects of the original, adding ominous robo-atmospherics and a brooding minor-key baseline.
