Diamonds

Calypso is a nymph who would trap her victims on an island, not allowing them to leave. The song's lyrics tell a story of someone who does not know how to leave their lover, much like how Odysseus didn't know how to leave the clutches of Calypso in Greek mythology. The song was written and recorded in a humble small bedroom in London, with a very basic setup.

Before we get to the fantastically sexy "Tender", let's do a quick recap: this is the "debut" single by Soul Push who previously released four EPs and three singles (including four tracks over 1m on Spotify alone) as LITTLE INDIA. We now welcome a new moniker and present a delicious blend of Indie R&B and Electro-Pop in collab with Willa.

“Body Is A Temple” is a song that exposes vastly different ways in which we as humans decide to harm our bodies. Despite its dark lyrical content, the song's message at its core is a positive one - reassuring the listener that despite self-induced torture and abuse we are confident that we can shed our addictions and have the power to overcome them.

Soul Push returns after a deliciously R&B-leaning EP with their latest single, “Your Touch”, a delectable and dance-inspiring concoction best described as Future Pop. 

“Your Touch” screams with words of relatable anguish for modern day artists: loneliness, heartbreak, and sacrifice are at the song’s core. The quartet makes it evident that they were truly alone when it was created, coming at a cost of chasing their dreams & ambitions, and they do so in a way that feels both pain-ridden and danceable. 

You can hear it in their longing for just one night filled with physical touch, a basic human need that many don’t realise is essential until it’s gone. “Your Touch” is clearly a product of the band’s time spent overseas in Europe, where they experienced dramatic swings of highs and lows filled with all kinds of mental & physical sacrifice.

Proudly flaunting sassiness with lyrics about Nintendo 64 and befriending vibrators instead of hanging out with your partner, there is no room for “playing it safe” on this track and this is clearly the band’s intent.

From distant heartbreak and mental warfare to reassuring themes of sexuality and self-actualization, diversity is clear in Soul Push’s wide array of influences and lyrical content. For them, music isn’t about finding an identity; it’s about exploring new ones.

After living in Europe for two years while writing an album in London, recording in Portugal, and touring through the UK, the group returned to the North American scene eager to flaunt their new sound, resulting in a record deal with L.A. based Riptide Music Group in 2020.

With an upcoming EP full of colourful melodies and delicious grooves supported by a diverse bunch of vibrant music videos, Soul Push is gearing up for an exciting and eventful 2022 with lots to share.
