Today's premiere from rising duo BOREAL SUN is a must hear for fans of contempory jazz, soul and West African rhythms. 

A collaboration between vocalist Liselotte Östblom (Sput, Ghost-Note) and producer/multi-instrumentalist Matt Roberts (Cleo Sol, Jorja Smith), BOREAL SUN are set to release their highly anticipated second single ‘New Beginning’ via Bridge The Gap on Thursday 7th March. Another taster of forthcoming debut EP ‘Dawn’, it follows the success of "future jazz & broken beat" tinged "< html > Code", which premiered on BBC Radio 6 before finding support across the likes of Jazz FM, Rinse FM and NTS.

"New Beginning" sees the duo channel West African influences into a utopian tale of endless possibilities and opportunities to flourish. The optimistic lyrical tone is mirrored by uplifting melodies, the dancing flute of Gareth Lockrane, impressive, flowing horn arrangements and the driving percussion of djembe master Yahael Camara Onono (Balimaya Project).

Outplay’s third vinyl release will be from young Mancunian artist Loz Goddard. With releases on Large Music and Editorial he has been making a great impression with his combination of disco and beatdown house. A well balanced blend between samples and synth work makes this a varied EP and a great showcase for Loz’s sound. Outplay’s own Fouk takes care of the remix, turning the lush “It Will Come To Me” into a solid dance floor track with added bass line groove.

In its original form Crave, which features the vocals from hotly-tipped Londoner Florence Rawlings, is an emotionally charged electronic torch song guaranteed to get inside your head from the very first listen. The spacey chords and punctuating string stabs bring hints of the 80’s to mind whilst Florence’s gentle vocal floats in the air like a fresh sea breeze.

In addition to the mesmerizing original there are two brilliant and contrasting remixes from one of the UK’s legendary producers Atjazz as well as Paris‘ rising star Flabaire whose D.KO Records has been dropping gem after gem since 2013.

Here we present the premiere of the Flabaire remix who looks back to the early 00’s for his classic soulful house rework which calls to mind the  sounds of DJ Spinna and vintage Naked Music.
