@meraque brings contemporary electronica together with traditional sounds from the Balkans and the Middle East. Their Symbiosis EP features a dynamic mix of compositions where danceable rhythms, lyrical melodies and dreamy soundscapes conjoin. Rhythms are reminiscent of typical Balkan grooves, which are embodied by the djembe, tapan and darbuka. All this is served on a bed of electronic elements, which provide extra punch and danceability. Between the sacred old trees, deep in the forest of enlightment @Garbicz Festival 2024 we found a spot and created a pop up setting to play a liveset. Manifested by Beeldjutters. Made possible through Garbicz. From ambient soundscapes to synthesizer madness, radio tuning, downtempo, uptempo and Maarten’s wonderful handpan inside a magical world of Soul Safari moments. Trying to be the guide between the lights in the magical forest of Garbicz. Surrounded by big noisy stages from all sides and a broken midi controller we managed to make some kind of music. Enjoy!

In the stillness between breaths, where the mind quiets and the soul begins to stir, there lies a truth that cannot be named. It is here, in the vast space between thought and reality, that this journey begins.

Ahaṃ, the ego, the "I" that we cling to, the self that defines, divides, and limits. It is the force that shapes our perception of the world—our desires, fears, and beliefs—binding us in the illusion of separation. But the world is not as it seems, and neither are we. For the "I" that we hold so tightly is but a fleeting echo, a shadow of the true essence beneath the surface.

Maya, the illusion, the veil that conceals the deeper truth. It is the ever-changing play of light and shadow, a dance of form and formlessness, a veil that hides the eternal from the transient. What we see, what we feel, is only a fragment of the whole. Yet, this illusion is necessary, for it allows us to seek, to question, to grow.

In the silence between the notes, where sound dissolves into stillness, we are not who we think we are. We are not bound by time, nor by the roles we play. We are the ocean and the sky, the stars and the wind. In this silence, the ego fades, and the illusion dissolves. There is no longer an "I"—there is only the vastness, the unity, the becoming of all that is.

This journey, this frequency, is a transformation. A passage from the bound and limited self into the boundless, ever-unfolding mystery of existence. The two titles, Nahaam Sa and Ahaṃ-Maya, are two sides of the same coin. One is the call, the yearning for stillness and peace; the other is the awakening to the truth beyond the illusion of separation. Together, they form the journey of the soul, from longing to realization.

We are not becoming something new—we are remembering who we have always been. The silent becoming is not a change, but a return to the truth of our being. The truth that has always been, waiting beneath the surface of illusion. Trust your intuition. Not what you have been told.
