Hi Everybody, my seasonal MIMS show is back after a short break.

On this episode of MFT I’m very happy to welcome Malcolm Strachan, Scottish trumpet player and member of the Haggis Horns.

As usual I have selected my favorite recent discoveries like the spiritual jazz tracks fromy Àbájade, Jazz is Dead Feat Lonnie Liston Smith and Organic Pulse Ensemble.  I also included the amazing last tracks from the well known contemporary Jazz Artists Soul Supreme and Sven Wunder.

For his part, Malcolm Strachan has chosen for us some of his favorites and main influences tune including some great Trumpet and Sax players like Freddie Hubbard, Eddie Harris, Stanley Turrentine and the Master Dizzy Gillespie.

I don't know who started the trend (Beatnuts maybe) where hip hop producers would go goo goo for 60s/70s pop Latin records with what was called "moody loops".  Our boy Maleet raided every bodega back room and Mexican disco for as much of this type of heaven he could muster.  We revisit this 2005 CD and channel our inner Psycho-Les.
