It's summer time, It's hot out there... and DJ Patife is about to make it even HOTTER. Directly from the sun soaked beaches of his native Brazil, SUNANDBASS & V Recordings are proud to bring you DJ Patife Presents- Viva Brazil: SUNANDBASS Sessions.

DJ Patife has compiled new and exclusive music from some of the most exciting producers in Brazil including names such as L-Side, Alibi, Drumagick, Andrezz, Simplification & Translate, Drumagick, Level 2, David WS, Vangeliez, Critycal Dub & DJ Chap along with new music from himself and guest appearances from top class talent such as Command Strange, The Levels, ArpXP & MC Fats...

This project is an important one. Its represents Patife's re-found love for the game that was re-ignited by a trip to the SUNANDBASS festival. In his own words, DJ Patife tells how and why he felt so inspired.

'From 2009 to 2013, I was away from the industry due to marriage, kids and other personal stuff, but also I'd stepped away from the scene because at that time I wasn't so happy about the music that was out there. A lot of things was changing and it seemed like a natural time for me to take a break.

Then in 2014, I had my first SUNANDBASS experience, it was a game changer for me in so many ways! As a Drum & Bass lover, it was hard to believe that for a whole week an event took place in a paradise named San Teodoro in Sardinia (Italy). An event full of people who love this music from all around world, all alongside those legends who've been in this scene since the beginning.

As a person who loves to share, I thought about my boys in Brazil who have been following and supporting D&B all these years. I was trying to find a way for all of them, or at least a few of them to come to SUNANDBASS, and to see and feel what I was feeling.'

... and thats exactly what he did. Viva Brazil: SUNANDBASS Sessions is a beautifully compiled ode to the SUNANDBASS festival, but also Patife's love of Drum & Bass. This exciting project kicked off last month with 'The Vibe Is Coming EP' EP that was released on both digital and vinyl on SUNANDBASS's own label with a selection of tracks that can also be found here.

The tracks on this compilation are fresh and new but they also manage to capture the essence of the first time you went raving in the sun. This album is a labour of love for Patife, SUNANDBASS & V Recordings.

As we celebrate the 25th year of V Recordings, it couldn't be a better time for another release from DJ Patife & Vangeliez. One of the OG's of Brazilian D&B Patife teams up with fellow countryman Vangeliez (formerly one half of Human Factor) once again. Fresh from their last single, as well as features on last year’s very well received 'Viva Brazil' compilation released in conjunction with SUNANDBASS, this duo has definitely found their own lane!

On 'Living Together' they link up with two of the most recognizable voices in the D&B, MC Fats and Stamina MC to create an uplifting summer anthem, that spreads the positivity of music across the globe. These two vocalists need little introduction, but in case you don't know, they are behind some of the most seminal moments in our genre's history, classics like Calibre's 'Drop It Down' , DJ Hype's 'Peace, Love & Unity, DJ Marky & XRS's 'LK', D Kay's 'Barcelona' and so the list could go on... Basically with the coming together of these four names you're in safe hands! 'On The Floor' continues to push a euphoric feeling, but adapts a sub low bass that could tear through any system!
 
Teaming up with Manchester's finest for vocals on 'Ain't That Bad', the tracks follow in the vein of their previous collaboration on Soul-R, and DRS delivers a stellar vocal performance that brings the track to life, and is again full of good vibes, definitely something you can never have enough of! 'Unexpected' is dripping with original liquid vibes - think Carlito & Addiction, Calibre, D Bridge Big Bud, Solid State - with a 21st-century twist - one for the those who like it deep.
 
Drum & Bass as a genre now has so many different sounds and styles, but one sound that has ridden the waves of fashions and emerged as timeless is on display here as the duo deliver 100% organic, funk-filled Drum & Bass music for the soul.

Next up on Lifestyle, we continue unearthing the scenes next stars, this time going back to Belgium with a young producer we found from our recent excursion, Lavance.

Following on from his inclusion for the Belgian Connection ‘Blitzkrieg’ Lavance, or as his mum calls him, Laurens, sent us a few tracks which we couldn’t turn away. Two of them feature fellow newcomer Dyrekt, including the title track ‘Wookie’ and ‘Wreckage’, as well as two more original works ‘Blackout’ and ‘Cricket’ from the soundsmith out of Zelzate.

Straight up serious tech to eat your heart out, but don’t bite off more than you can chew.

There’s certainly no two ways about it, everyone in the UK loves the summer (even if a few of us do complain about being too hot!). So here at Soulvent, we thought we’d ring in everyone’s favourite season, with a scorching selection of tracks that will keep the mercury high. We’ve roped in new British talent from the likes of Luna, Changer, Primitive Instinct and Lurch - whilst keeping our international connections simmering, with offerings from Mountain, Reset Wrong, Soul Dimension and Monika. 

Reset Wrong’s track Femme is a morphing selection of grunting synths and bi-polar drums - a first outing for the Russian duo on Soulvent. Meanwhile long-time friend, first-time collaborator Dushi offers up Crossroads, a number perfect for poolside jams & park life living. 

Fresh from dropping his Teleportation EP on Celsius, Mountain returns with the feel-good half-time stepper that is Squall - littered with chords that will definitely have you reaching for the air guitar. Strife II delivers You’ll Always Know - energetic drums bathed in sunshine will have your hands in the air and a smile on your face. Dilemma brings a jazzy vibe that winds down the tone after a long day in the sun. Soulful keys and rolling basslines keep the good times coming.

As the sun goes down, break out the EP’s darker side with Cumber from Luna and The Shakes from Lurch. Big servings of sub bass will have you rounding out the after parties in style. Soul Dimension changes up the pace with the certified chest-thumper Mind Surgeon. If this one gets dropped at a night near you, expect shoes galore. 

Last but by no means least, Soulvent staple Monika flies in from New Zealand with a vocal kissed roller titled As You Walk, perfect for a balmy stroll home after a long night of dancing!
