With a firm appetite for timeless and vibrant music from all corners of the world, the Souma catalogue reveals the fascination for unearthed repertories, obscure artists and less explored urban and rural music cultures.  

Souma was the nickname of the famous Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum, who devoted her life to music and always stood strong in a world of men. Souma is the symbol of a great era of Arabic music. The label took off two years ago, formerly being part of Radio Martiko. Souma’s first release was the long-awaited rare soundtrack compilation of Egyptian 70s star keyboard player Hany Mehanna.
