"We lost Curley way too early and at a point where he was about to become very well known. He had a unique talent but the thing that got me the most was that we were walking the same musical path. We had arranged to work together in the new year but we sadly lost him on new years eve. I was very lucky to have worked with him on the Sahara technique ep and several times in the Spiral Tribe Studio 23 when we were parked up in Den Haag 1993-94. I was most influenced by a record he did with Yan from Unit Moebius on a small label called Oxalis from near Paris. The record featured a flange/chorus being fed back on itself. I was blown away and have developed this sound ever since. You will hear it on this mix. I dedicate this mix to my fallen brother who i will carry in my heart forever and who I always think of before I start an improvisation !!!

Dans les années 90, May organisait des soirées Acid. Elle avait donc une collection perso de cassettes et recevait des démos que les musicien.ne.s lui donnaient. Peut être même des lives des soirées qu'elle organisait...
Dans les années 2005, elle a donné toutes ses cassettes à Raul (The Acid Mercenaries/Dj Lovepills), dit Raul 303, qui marquait ses disques déjà avec R303. Curieux de tout écouter, Niko en profita pour tout numériser et même parfois les dupliquer pour les faire voyager à nouveau via la distro.

This mix is an archive copy from beloved friend, cultural mentor and music teacher Phrase who lend me the tape for documentation of the 90ies sound of our local dancefloors in north east Germany: strictly Detroit Electro and Techno. Camouflage nets, strobe light and fog in illegal outskirt locations, underground parties for those who know. 

He is still active in the underground scene as a Techno, Electro and House producer and DJ, operating several labels on its own as well as being the founder of the vinyl pressing plant and distribution "Matter Of Fact" (@vinylmattersdistribution) in Güstrow, Germany.
