Trushmix 238 presents Sanctuary in the mix!
After their move from Australia, Sanctuary have been immersed in the Berlin scene for close to a decade, co-hosting the former Altered Soul Experiment nights and founding their label, Life Classics. The label started as a home for their edits, then later branched out into a mix series and club residency at OHM.

For Trushmix they made a one hour and forty minutes mix. House, deep tech and late 90´s top early 00´s on the menu. Loaded with firm favourites and a number of tunes we've been bumping in the clubs over the last few months. This one hits like a warm breeze so turn up the dial and roll off into the sunset.

We reached out to one of our good pals up in the Great White North to supply us with a special downtempo mix! The manlike JEX OPOLIS is in the house, putting together this killer 90-minute joint, full of late 80's & early 90's downbeat house, ambient trance & post-acid house groovers. You may know the man from his Nu Disco Good Timin' and evil twin Bad Timin' labels, where he amps up the Italo & 90s Progressive vibes with massive kicks for the dancefloor, or his well-known mixes for The Lot Radio NYC. This is a special one, a family one.

Rosie Ama (Cain), as I’m sure you all already know, is a London-based DJ, radio host, and founder of Human Endeavour Records. She’s been in the fam a while now, operating on the outer fringes of dance music… which is exactly where you want to be if you're trying to avoid mainstream success and financial stability.

Having cut her teeth as a writer and editor for online music platforms Stamp The Wax and this here Ransom Note, Rosie demonstrated such exemplary dedication to underground culture that we eventually had to take disciplinary action against her. The subsequent court settlement led to the founding of Human Endeavour; sometimes the best label launches emerge from legal disputes, rather than business plans.

Officially launching in 2022 (once the legal paperwork was finalised), it serves as a platform for artists operating in the deep, dark and hypnotic corners of electronic music and has welcomed artists like Anastasia Zems, Justine Forever, Nandele, Medicine 8 and Thomass Jackson over the years.

Before doing her own thing, Rosie made up one half of Kiara Scuro alongside friend Nadia, a DJ and production partnership that released music on Fabric Originals, Ritmo Fatale and Faux Poly, as well as long-standing radio residencies on Rinse FM and Balamii Radio. After a decade together, she’s gone solo turning her full attention to the label and her monthly Noods radio show, Melodic Odds, that showcases her love for sleazy low-slung chuggers, leftfield acid house and synth-driven 3am groovers. 

Whilst I’d never tell her this to her face, it’s actually a delight to welcome her back to the fold - this time without the need for lawyers - for a mix that captures her hypnotic, trippy vision of what dance music can be when nobody's watching the figures…

Rosie Ama: The Ransom Note Mix

Named one of The New York Times’ “5 Artists to Watch” in 2025, Boys’ Shorts are a Greek DJ and production duo made up of Vangelis (LAGASTA) and electronic recording artist Tareq. Blending house, slow techno, disco, and acid, their sound reflects everything they love to play in their DJ sets. In their own words: “We make people dance!”

They’ve released music on influential labels including HE.SHE.THEY., Polari Records, Permanent Vacation, Future Disco, Iptamenos Discos, Live at Robert Johnson, and most recently, Correspondant.

Boys’ Shorts have delivered remixes for a diverse and high-profile list of artists including Alison Goldfrapp, Poolside, Yuksek x Polo & Pan, Kasper Bjørke, Woolfy, Boy George, Local Suicide x Lena Platonos, Daddy Squad x Zoot Woman, Casey Spooner, Joe Goddard and more. 

Touring extensively across Europe and the US, they’ve played iconic venues such as Berghain/Panorama Bar, London’s E1, Le Bain, Basement, Good Room, House of YES, and festivals like Lost Village and WECANDANCE. They’ve also opened for Hot Chip at the Knockdown Center in NYC and supported Alison Goldfrapp on the UK leg of her Love Invention tour.

Seekers is a dub-soaked, trance-tinged exploration of texture, rhythm, and atmosphere. Across three original tracks and a deep dub reinterpretation by Mozes, the record drifts between ambient dance, psychedelic shimmer, and experimental sound collage.

Born from the chaos of a sleepless coastal city, Seekers captures the fractured poetry of urban drift — soft and hazy one moment, tangled and dense the next. Built from field recordings, found tones, and analogue synth fragments, it feels like a collection of dream fragments from the in-between: half memory, half mirage.

Closing the release, Mozes reimagines one of the EP’s key pieces through a dub-rooted lens — a meditative descent into echo and weight, where bass becomes landscape and delay turns to dialogue.

Gats is an electronic music producer and performer from Berlin, Germany, known for a unique style that blends elements of psychedelic rock, dub, and Balearic sounds to create music that is both relaxing and danceable. Gats has released several albums and EPs on labels like Invisible Inc., Voodoohop, Chill Mountain Records, both as a solo artist and as part of various musical projects, including Die Grillen, Gates, Changa Boys, ghostandthesong, Voltags, and many more.

The journey of past years trying to figure out what it actually is to be in the place in which I am.

The album is a story of the peaks and valleys of the past two years, and the common theme that we have to let go of something along the way, even if I think it is *almost* perfect.

In a way too - it's about being able to move on. Finding that closure which isn't an end, but just part of where I go when I stop thinking so hard.
