Remix of the Amiga Game tune Bomb Mania by Holger Stenzhorn. This was done in 2008 and was supposed to appear on the new Instant Remedy album which was released in 2015. This remix was "lost" in 2010 during a vicious hard-disk crash where I lost all my projects. However in 2015 this remix returned to the surface as Instant Remedy still had the file I sent back then. So here it is. Only 7 years late.. ;)

I was so incredibly nervous about this; doing "emotionally charged" music on cue was something that I felt was way out of my comfort zone, and I wasn't sure if I was up to the task - I especially struggled with the first part, which I felt was the most important. In the end, I think that fear permeated the music itself, and I was able to draw on experiences I lived through or witnessed to deliver this, turning all of how and what I felt like into what ultimately became the song.
Influence-wise, I decided early on that I wanted to take the minimalism of Vector Lovers and somehow merge it with the soaring energy of post-rock (like 65daysofstatic), with the mid-section being heavily influenced by - oddly - Nine Inch Nails, The Lion King and Shadow Gallery. If none of this makes sense to you, I can assure you that it didn't make sense to me either until the track started taking shape, but I somehow instinctively knew where to look when I needed certain elements.
In the end, I think the music ultimately ended up carrying a lot of the intro on its back, and it might eventually become one of the favorite pieces of music I ever did.

"Monochromatic Neon Lights", is my tribute to two of my favorite composers who layered the ground for my landscape in the world of music. Vangelis, Jarre, both kings who's always inspired me since an early age. The city life late at night when everyone are asleep added a melancholy emotion to this song, somehow reflects the amazing music Jóhann Jóhannsson wrote. This is my contribution to "Sound of SceneSat Vol.4"
