NuDr. Renick Bell is a computer musician, programmer and teacher based in Tokyo, Japan. His current research interests are live coding, improvisation, and algorithmic art using open source software. He is the author of Conductive, a library for live coding in the Haskell programming language. He performs internationally (frequently at algoraves), and has released music on the labels UIQ, Quantum Natives, Tsuku Boshi, Deep Space Objects, and the3rd2nd. He has releases forthcoming on Halcyon Veil and Beatgatherers. He teaches programming at the International College of Liberal Arts at Yamanashi Gakuin University. He is a graduate of the doctoral program at Tama Art University in Tokyo. Originally from West Texas and previously lived in New York City (1999-2001) and Taipei, Taiwan (2001-2006).

is the latest of the many names used by Frans de Waard, using a much more dynamic approach to sound, through very low end electronics, walkmans, sound effects en the high end such as Ipad and laptop (although the latter more for recording than anything else). As Modelbau he has played concerts in The Netherlands and Germany and released cassettes for Barreuh, Maneki Neko and Bookend Recordings as well as KormDigitaal. In 2016 A first CD was released in 2016 by Moving Furniture Records. In concert he reaches for the superloud and the super quiet.

Sculpting electronics and disassembling objects, sometimes coming up with music. Lately been trying to teach my hands to act separately. Letting the sun shine on dusty magnetic tapes. Recordings from the radio: people calling to the Luonto-ilta and imitating animals they have seen. In a party leaning over a cellphone and listening to the only rehearsal tape by my band which will probably never play again, great bassline.

Ann Rosén was originally trained as a sculptor and has been active as a sound artist and composer since the 90's. She is a founding member of Syntjuntan and 2013 their album was awarded the Manifest prize for the best experimental album. As well as creating sound installations Ann composes both instrumental and electroacoustic music often utilising her self-made electronic instruments. Ann's latest album Bredvid is nominated to the Manifest prize 2017. Her trans-disciplinary umbrella project the Great Barrier Orchestra aims to challenge our inner and outer barriers, the ones we carry inside ourselves and the ones we encounter in the world around us.
She is in residency at HIAP from 3.4. until 30.5.2017 with support from the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture.

Emilie Payeur lives and works in Montréal, Canada. She obtained a Master Degree in electroacoustic music composition at the University of Montreal. She is a multidisciplinary artist, mainly active in experimental/noise music and visual arts. The tension, discomfort, voyeurism and perversion/deviation of the reality are very important in her work, both in the creative process and in the work itself. Often described as being minimalist and sometimes harsh, her music has been performed and rewarded all over the world and her visual works has drawn attention during exhibitions.

Emilie is a member of Dead Squirrels (noise trio), Kohlenstoff Records (experimental music label and collective), Projet K (experimental ensemble) and Jeunesse Cosmique (spatial music label and family).

Sound Room is a platform to organise and develop projects on sound art and audiovisual experimentation that can be showcased for a wider audience. It is dedicated to the exploration of the rich complexities of sound as an artistic practice and its documentation. 

The first approach on the field of sound art is through live performances that yield expressiveness with audiovisual means. Therefore the Sound Room presents a concert every month, aiming to stimulate the development of novel proposals in avant-garde music, encouraging artists to raise original works that happen on site specific context.
