"Elektro Tonight 38" Basement-Issue - Exhaustion (October 2024)

Swedish electro producer, Ola Bergman (aka https://soundcloud.com/obergman) first appeared on my musical radar a few years back when I heard his ‘Quantum Eraser EP’ on Brokntoys. It blew me away. I’ve been pretty much buying all his records since and playing his tracks in my mixes. A few that cost a pretty penny on Discogs, I may add!

In more recent years, he has moved towards 4/4, although not exclusively, and has carved out a niche for his unique electro-tinged robo-house. I was hooked with this style that has this amazing hypnotic, deep, wonky feel to it, while still sounding futuristic and in the electro realm.

His impressive discography includes releases on labels such as Infiltrate, Pariter, Brokntoys, Stilleben, Furthur Electronix, Börft, Propaganda, Between Places and most recently Craigie Knowes.

Obergman has prepared an hour-long live set for us that is class from start to finish.

What started with late nights in local clubs in the 90's soon turned into a full-blown passion leading him to start his vinyl collection in 2015, beginning with disco, funk, and American house before expanding into a variety of genres. On this occasion, he offers the recording of his set at the MLK Festival last February. From Dub to Electro, a podcast driven by passion and a deep connection to the culture. Enjoy it!
