At some point in every producer's life, the urge to write an acid tune becomes irresistible, and for Grimey Electro pioneer Sir Hiss, that point is apparently now. Claps as sharp as Blade's blade in the film 'Blade', the kind of tension that can only be described as being 'just like the rave scene in Blade', and of course some iconic Grime sampling shenanigans all conspire to create an unholy banger of such blood-sucking power as to compel Wesley Snipes to pay his tax bill. Bad.

Meanwhile, M300 Tool showcases the further reaches of Hissian hardware exploration, taking a vintage TC Electronic unit and some hardware analogue drums for a spin down Flanger Lane, which is, of course, a minimal yet tuff thoroughfare leading to either Banger Estate or MC Village (MC not provided).

Finally, on EP closer 'Synchronisation', the NMM label boss, fresh off duppying Outlook for the Pineapple Records takeover, indulges the current temptation to 'get a bit proggy' with it, lacing synth arpeggios, bouncing toms and spacious bass tones together to answer the questions no one has yet dared to ask, namely 'what if Sasha & Digweed were from Bow E3?' and 'what if Northern Exposure wasn't really boring?' - The NMM / Bedrock beef starts here...

Nuage emerges with a tantalising collection of 2-step tear-jerkers on his latest album 'Gradient' releasing via Microfunk Music on September 19th.

For over a decade, Nuage has built a reputation as one of electronic music’s most emotive voices, with celebrated releases on Project Mooncircle, Anjunadeep, 20/20 Vision, and Phonica Records, and regular radio support from BBC Radio 1. Following the vibrant Music of Branches (Absys, 2013), the lushly introspective Prints of You (Translation, 2014), and the genre-bending WILD (Project Mooncircle, 2017), Gradient marks a natural next step, refining his signature blend of moody synths, floating melodies, and broken 2-step rhythms into something intimate, ethereal, and timeless.

Each track on Gradient feels like a precious gem, balancing restraint and atmosphere with a subtle pull toward the dancefloor. UKG-inspired grooves set the foundation for much of the record, carrying Nuage’s trademark weightless touch. “Pausepoint” stands out as a highlight, where Nuage teams up with Microfunk Music label head Bop to push the tempo into drum & bass territory, providing a dynamic counterpoint to the album’s meditative flow. The surrounding tracks lean into hazy textures and shimmering percussion that unfold like half-remembered dreams.

Info: Parallax explores the shifting boundary between human intuition and algorithmic logic, a space where two perspectives converge and blur until the center is lost. Composed through a hybrid system of voltage-controlled hardware and digital manipulation, the five tracks apply FM synthesis, granular processing, and bit-level degradation to rigid electro structures. Sequences are shaped by modulation instability and clock drift, gradually disrupting pattern integrity and simulating a loss of systemic control. Precise yet disrupted grooves hint at a deeper malfunction, as if something is corrupting the system from within. Parallax is the gap between the human who creates and the algorithm that imitates.
