Hailing from the banlieue of Paris, currently based in the capital, Argo has spent more than a decade earning himself a reputation as one of the most recognisable 140 producers. 

He is now joining the label with a powerful and evocative 4-track project rooted in political tension and urgency.

Drawing on grime and dubstep foundations,
it embraces an intentionally underproduced aesthetic inspired by early scenes, fast-made, low-budget, and raw by design. The sound is saturated and abrasive, reflecting the violence and pressure of the contemporary moment.

In his first appearance on the Max G label, Philly native Squidbrain cooks up a clubby twist on the ideas and motifs of Max G’s iBroke. From his studio in Berlin, Squidbrain recasts the slow-burning meditations on Latin percussion, G-house and 2000s RnB samples that characterize the original, upping the tempo and blurring the lines between electro, UK bass, and breaks. In his remix, he brings a workout of syncopated and bouncy kick and bass, offbeat snares, and weaving and gritty breaks, balancing cold and mechanical elements of electro with the funky and inviting spirit of the source material.

Max G's Original Mix of iBroke is drum-heavy Latin-percussive minimal funk house with an ostentatious vocal sample and surreal bursts of demented synth energy.

Danish producer Hedo Hydr8 arrives on Grid for the label's 20th release with a colorful and daring EP. BBB is a track straight out of the 2010s, when post-dubstep and grime were booming. It features rapper Killa P, a discreet grime legend who has worked with some of the genre's most iconic producers.
BBB is raw and uncompromising, yet irresistibly catchy and danceable.
This unusual track is also available in an Alternative Mix, with additional rhythmic elements to make it more rolling and accentuate its club vibe, whereas the original mix was more broken.
In line with bass scene releases, Hedo Hydr8 also made a VIP version of the track, darker, more strident, and deeper, which fans of the genre are sure to choose!
The EP closes with two remixes: the first by DJ Spit & Mathis Ruffing is dembow-oriented, featuring funny bouncy bass lines.
