Earning praise from Adana Twins, Audiofly and Kollektiv Turmstrasse, 'Ahora' now gets remade by Stelios Vassiloudis and Eran Aviner & Hermanez for the new year.

Matias Vila - Ahora (Eran Aviner & Hermanez Remix) [Sound Avenue]

Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint follows up their 100th release by welcoming Paula Os to the label for her first ever solo single ‘Pearl’. Born in Chile but now Buenos Aires based, Paula shot into the electronic music spotlight in 2016 with her vocal work on Jos & Eli’s ‘Walking On Water’. Released through long standing German imprint Einmusika, it set the course for what has been a remarkable two year stretch. Paula has since gone on to collaborate with some of progressive music’s most esteemed talents in Antrim and Kamilo Sanclemente. 2017 saw Sound Avenue label boss Madloch introduce Paula’s sublime vocals into his well received Magician On Duty single ‘Deserts & Snow’. A friendship and mutual respect developed between the two artists, eventually leading to the present with Paula’s first and much anticipated solo single coming courtesy of Sound Avenue, alongside remixes from Powel and Adam Nathan.

Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint continues a strong spring season by showcasing new interpretations of Eric Lune’s ‘Embers’. Originally released in October of 2019, it’s smooth yet euphoric moods saw play from Hernan Cattaneo, while also being one of the Aussie artist’s best selling tracks of the year. Now looking to revive this musical gem for the warm months ahead, Sound Avenue invites Death On The Balcony and GMJ to re-imagine the track.

Sitting at the heart of the organic house underground are Death On The Balcony. Arriving on the scene more than a decade ago, the UK duo have compiled an impressive resume, highlighted by releases on All Day I Dream, Akbal Music, Do Not Sit On The Furniture and Kindisch. In what has proven to be a fruitful creative partnership the duo continue to earn the praise of their contemporaries and tastemakers alike. Now following a remix for Pablo Bolivar’s Seven Villas imprint, Death On The Balcony debut on Sound Avenue with a gorgeous take on ‘Embers’. Coming in smooth and percussion, it’s a rich, soulful and incredibly charming nine minute journey. Redolent tones, ghostly vocal fragments and exotic drums build an inviting narrative, as strummy hooks and melodic flurries steal the air at opportune moments. Perfectly timed, the main break brings a greater sense of calm, a heartfelt interlude of sorts, before a stripped down section provides an energy bridge into a percussive drop and charismatic finale.

Premiere: Eric Lune - Embers (Death on the Balcony Remix) [Sound Avenue]

Sound Avenue begins the new year by welcoming Jayden Klight back to the label for his debut EP. The US artist made his first appearance on the Belgian imprint in September of last year with a remix of ‘Pattern Lock' by Madloch & Subnode. His enticing deep house sound has also found a home on several esteemed imprints, such as L'enfant terrible, Magician On Duty, Nie Wieder Schlafen and Seven Villas. Now beginning the new year in style, Jayden lands back on Sound Avenue with ‘Click' alongside a remix from Silence Path. 

Spread across three tracks it's the enchanting sounds of ‘Nothing' which get the release underway. Subtle shades and tones set the piece in motion, as tepid beats and dusty percussion add a gorgeous hip swinging quality. Vocal overlays advance the narrative across the first act, adding heartfelt moments and romantic overtones leading into the main break, before cascading aquatics and muted pianos make for an elegant finale. 

The lone interpretation of ‘Nothing' is provided by Silence Path who makes his label debut. The Romanian artist first appeared in February of 2019 with a well received release via Loot Recordings. Remixed by Powel and Quatri, it set the course for his harmonious sound. Now following an EP for Dream Culture to end 2020, the Bucharest resident makes his Sound Avenue debut with a unique take on ‘Nothing'. With a more minimalistic approach Silence Path provides an excellent complement to the original, as tight beats, fresh electronics and clattering percussion unite for a quirky eight-minute journey. Utilized beautifully, the vocal elements provide moments of warmth and reflection coming out of the break, onwards to a percussive finale. 

Continuing to stretch his creative wings, Jayden explores the realms of electronica on the EP's second and title selection ‘Click'. Broken beats and pulsating bass provide the perfect foundation for dubbed out tones, staggered percussion and emerging vocals to unite for a gorgeous blend of atmosphere and colour.

Rounding out the release are the seductive sounds of ‘Rejuvenated Cell Party'. Deep and inviting from the outset, it's a marriage of processed vocals, muted pianos and rolling rhythms which make for an upbeat yet tranquil journey. Freeform phrasing carries into the main break as timeless electronics and meandering motifs provide a sensory saturating conclusion. It caps off a hugely successful EP from one of the deep house scene's most intriguing artists, and thus gets Sound Avenue's 2021 schedule off to a great start.

Hailing from Zurich, the Swiss artist has established himself in the world of organic house with releases on Magician On Duty, RYNTH, Sag and Tre and Underyourskin Records. Having made his Sound Avenue debut in 2019 with a remix of Joe Miller's 'The Last Of The Great Days', Jean further established a bond with the label in 2020, reworking Bigasti and Balad's 'The Days'. Now returning to Sound Avenue for his first original project, Jean presents his 'Departure Unknown' EP, alongside a remix from Daniel Van Der Zwaag.

Founded in 2011 by Belgian DJ and producer Madloch, Sound Avenue is an electronic music label that stands for quality and originality. Borderless in vision, the Belgian imprint has forged a path to multiple musical dimensions. Blurring the boundaries between house and techno, it’s a platform for anyone with an open mind and ears. Having built early momentum on a global scale, the label hosted events across Europe, North Amercia, Argentina and their home country of Belgium. These uniquely branded club nights featured some of the labels core artists (at the time) including Agustin Basulto, Beat Syndrome, Luis Junior, Matias Vila, Nicolas Rada and Sound Process. It set in motion what has been a unique course to musical freedom, pioneering various sonic blueprints over the course of eight years, while maintaining a strong bond  between its loyal and ever expanding fanbase.   

Originally intended to be a stand alone platform, as Sound Avenue experienced unprecedented growth its musical horizons expanded, eventually paving the way for two label subsidiaries in 3rd Avenue and Crossfade Sounds. The former drew influence from Sound Avenue’s early beginnings, showcasing the best in melodic house while the latter dove into the realms of deeper, dubby house and laid back modern techno.   

Now over one hundred releases into their journey, Sound Avenue has continued to flourish through precision, care and well thought out A&R choices.
