Eric Lune returns to Madloch's 3rd Avenue for the remix EP of "Benji". The original got released in 2018 and is one of the most successful tracks ever on the label. For the first remix we welcome dutch producer Navar. Last year he made a remix on Sound Avenue for Madloch & Subnode. From the USA we got Forerunners making his label debut. The final remix is from the new alias of Khetouin "Orange & Indigo".

3rd Avenue Podcast 025 - Nicolas Navarro

Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint ushers in the summer season by showcasing new interpretations of Bigasti & Balad’s ‘The Days’. Originally released in August of 2019, it’s elegant motifs, wispy atmospheres and fluttery melodic concepts were well received by their fans and contemporaries. Still holding a place in the duo’s top five best selling tracks on Beatport, Sound Avenue now invites Nopi, B.A.X. and Jean Caillou to re-imagine the track. 

Returning to the label and providing the first interpretation of ‘The Days’ is Nopi. The Ukrainian artist first appeared on the Belgian imprint in February of this year with a remix of ‘Pearl’ by Paula OS. As the lead piece on the label’s ‘Re:Imagined #001’ release, it showcased Nopi’s individualities through a wealth of blissful concepts and organic design. Also laying claim to releases on Akbal Music, Kindisch and Seven Villas, Nopi now returns to Sound Avenue with a powerful rendition of ‘The Days’. Taking a cue from the original Nopi crafts a full groove and smooth rhythmic core. Nostalgic in nature, the piece flows through a storyboard of charged rhythms, luminous tones and fragmented vocals, before shifting energy into a transcendent break. Delicate yet buzzing, the centrepiece expertly melts down into a dramatic build as acid-like synths and a wave of noise spark a rousing finale.

Also making a welcome return to the label is B.A.X. who provides the second interpretation of ‘The Days’. The Vietnamese artist first appeared on Belgian imprint in January of this year with a remix of Madloch and Subnode’s ‘Lion’s Mane’, before delivering his ‘Serenade to Earth’ EP in April. Classically trained and borderless in his approach to production, the Ho Chi Minh City resident has also found a home on fryhide, Manual Music and Sound Avenue affiliate 3rd Avenue. Always a creative remixer, B.A.X. now returns to Sound Avenue, taking ‘The Days’ into his world of transcendent beats and impassioned melodies. Warm rhythms, clattering percussion and redolent bass set the course for this charming journey. Emerging chord stabs and rising atmosphere soon engulf the groove, saturating your senses in the process, before a heavenly break furthers its emotive lean onwards to a spine-tingling finale. 

Completing the release and providing the third and final interpretation of ‘The Days’ is Jean Caillou who returns for his second appearance. Hailing from Zurich, the Swiss artist first appeared on the Belgian imprint in November of last year with a gorgeous remix of Joe Miller’s ‘The Last of the Great Days’. Renowned for his deep, romantic storyboards, Jean has also showcased his music on Magician On Duty, Sag & Tre and Underyourskin Records. Often splitting time between deep house and electronica, the Swiss artist opts for the latter here with a reflective take on ‘The Days’. Fresh and emotive in equal measure, it’s a collage of exotic percussion, sprawling vocal gates and dusty electronics which captivate across the nine-minute journey. Soulful plucks and luminous tones expand the musical narrative, gently washing over the framework and ultimately closing the release out on a heartfelt note. A gorgeous remix from Jean, capping off a deep and dreamy remix edition for Bigasti & Balad’s ‘The Days’.

‘Dione’ is a brilliant track, exposing the creation of hypnotic and intrigue atmosphere, is a three-note built for those pay-off moments in the peak of a set. The piano effect creates a great combination of romance and mystery notes, attached with the strings of an endless universe full of harmonies.

The latest release from Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint welcomes Balad back to the label for a new EP entitled ‘A Distant Memory’. The Australian artist first appeared on the Belgian imprint in 2019 with ‘The Days’, an EP produced alongside frequent studio partner Bigasti. The Sydney residents deep sound has continued to flourish as he carefully adds to a resume that includes releases on Balance Music, BeatFreak Recordings, Where The Heart Is and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden. Now making a welcome return to Sound Avenue, Balad presents his first solo EP for the label alongside a remix from Zone+.

Balad - A Place Forgotten [Sound Avenue]

The latest release from Sound Avenue finds Madloch and Subnode presenting their new single ‘Pattern Lock’. Being paired since the summer of 2018, the creative synergy between Madloch & Subnode has continued to grow. The Belgian duo have released four originals and a remix since beginning their collaborative partnership. A recent studio remodel has spawned new inspirations and a wealth of new material as a result. Now, in a year that has already yielded the glacial soundscapes of ‘Abyssal’, Madloch and Subnode unveil their latest studio creation alongside remixes from Dance Spirit and Jayden Klight.

Mysterious and mystical, the original mix sets the tone for the release with a gorgeous blend of layered beats and exotic drums. Mountainous bass stabs then come in clusters, uniquely manicured with a dubbed-out quality, while drifting arps and tension filled tones fully saturate your senses. Melting down into the main break, effervescent lines percolate in the cavernous wasteland below, before perfectly segueing into a percussive drop and meditative finale. 

The first interpretation of ‘Pattern Lock’ is provided by Dance Spirit who make their label debut. Long time favourites of Audiofly and John Digweed, the US duo have been in the pursuit subconscious harmony through rhythm, timbre, melody and movement. This unique amalgamation has seen them find a home on Balance Music, Bedrock, Get Physical and Watergate Records. Now continuing what has been a prolific year, Dance Spirit remodel ‘Pattern Lock’ into a slice of modern techno music. Always creative remixers, the Los Angeles duo deconstruct the main elements into newfound themes for what sits as an ideal complement to the original. From tough, percussive beginnings comes emerging arps, esoteric rhythms and billowing bass tones. As percussion continues to drive the narrative, an impactful break bends the sonic envelope through devilish electronics and phasing harmonics. Perhaps one for the more astute connoisseur, it’s a unique and tastefully twisted marriage which plays out over an unpredictable and monumentally satisfying final movement. 

Also making his label debut and providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Pattern Lock’ is Jayden Klight. Arriving on the scene three years ago, the US artist has compiled a short but impressive resume, highlighted by releases on L'enfant terrible, Nie Wieder Schlafen and Seven Villas. Now following a remix for label affiliate Crossfade Sounds, Jayden debuts on Sound Avenue with a spirited take on ‘Pattern Lock’. Warm beats and exotic percussion set the foundation for a free-flowing narrative of charming motifs. Soulful vocal samples drift over the framework for impassioned moments, while dusty artefacts and incandescent tones add nicely to its meditative quality. Smooth, seductive and a touch romantic, it’s an elegant journey into the depths of organic house from one of the genre's brightest up and coming talents. It rounds out a welcome return to Sound Avenue for Madloch and Subnode. a duo who continue to explore new sonic territory with great success.

The latest release from Sound Avenue finds label stalwarts Madloch & Subnode pairing with Pedro Capelossi for their debut EP. Hailing from Brazil but now based in Spain, Pedro Capelossi first appeared in 2018 with releases via One Of A Kind and Soundteller Records. His progressive minded productions quickly found favour with genres key tastemakers, making him one of the years top up and coming talents. Fast forward two years and the Barcelona resident has retooled his sound, focusing on a deeper, more organic studio process that has been showcased on Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas, Dream Culture and RYNTH. Similarly, Belgium production team Madloch and Subnode have continued to evolve as studio partners, with the July release of 'Abyssal' showcasing a dubby, meditative quality that once again proves their creative prowess has no boundary. Now fresh off the release of their 'Pattern Lock' single, Madloch and Subnode collaborate with Pedro Capelossi on a two track showcase entitled 'Turmeric Latte'.

Founded in 2011 by Belgian DJ and producer https://soundcloud.com/madloch , Sound Avenue is an electronic music label that stands for quality and originality. Borderless in vision, the Belgian imprint has forged a path to multiple musical dimensions. Blurring the boundaries between house and techno, it’s a platform for anyone with an open mind and ears. Having built early momentum on a global scale, the label hosted events across Europe, North Amercia, Argentina and their home country of Belgium.
