13 Years Sound Avenue

Sound Avenue opens the month of February by showcasing new interpretations of Madloch and Subnode's 'Journey to the Unknown'. Released in October of last year, the track's subdued pulse and smoky resonance anchored the double a-side release and now sits as a highlight in the duo's discography. Supported by deep, organic and progressive house DJs alike, Sound Avenue now looks to bring new life to the track by inviting Haen, Circulation and Gux Jimenez to re-imagine it for 2023's winter season.

The release concludes with Gux Jimenez making his label debut with the third and final interpretation of 'Journey to the Unknown'. Hailing from Colombia, Gux Jimenez has been a fixture of his country's electronic music movement for over a decade. Best known for his emotive take on the progressive genre, the Cartagena resident has showcased his music via trendsetting landing spots such as Clubsonica, Juicebox, Mango Alley, Proton's Particles, UV and his own OzLand imprint, while earning support from world class DJs Above and Beyond and Armin Van Buuren. Now, adding Sound Avenue to his resume, Gux debuts on the label with a nostalgic rendition of 'Journey to the Unknown'. Built around a thumping percussive framework, Gux focuses on rhythm and groove across the first act, nicely balanced with a healthy dose of colourful effects and arpeggiated sequences. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the main break unveils balmy overlays, delicately blanketing prismatic arps, as modulation peaks for an uplifting finale.

Madloch, Subnode - Journey to the Unknown (Gux Jimenez Remix) [Sound Avenue]

Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint opens the month of March by showcasing new interpretations of Jean Caillou’s ‘Simplon’. Released in March of last year, the five-track showcase was not only a prime example of the Swiss artist’s creative attitude but a highlight in the label’s catalog. Supported by deep and organic DJs alike, Sound Avenue now looks to bring new life to the project by inviting HAEN, St.Ego, Jayden Klight, Evernaya and Umannto to re-imagine it for 2023’s spring season.

Making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of ‘Down’ is St.Ego. Hailing from Russia, St. Ego first emerged last year with a release via label subsidiary 3rd Avenue. Smooth and organic in equal measure, the three-track offering caught the attention of organic house fans for its deep and musical approach. The following six months would see St.Ego go on a creative swell, releasing five more projects for 3rd Avenue while also adding Bekool Records, Dreamers, Nordic Voyage and more to his resume. Now embarking on his biggest remix project to date, St.Ego makes his Sound Avenue debut with a gorgeous rendition of ‘Down’.

The Moscow resident has enjoyed a rapid ascent in the landscape of progressive music, having forged a distinctive sonic identity, resulting in a string of uniquely crafted records that present a resonant worldly sound. Landing in July of 2022, 'Forest Beast' found the beloved Russian artist crafting one of her deepest and most engaging tracks to date. On the strength of remixes from Berni Turletti and Weird Sounding Dude, the release earned play and support from Armen Miran, Eelke Kleijn, Mind Against, Nick Warren, Quivver and more. With two of the versions still holding a place in Christina's Beatport best sellers, Sound Avenue now invites Paul Deep, Ric Niels and Nau Squaglia to re-imagine the track for 2023's impending spring season.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint continues a strong spring season by showcasing new interpretations of 'Three Drops of Dopamine' by about : river. Released in May of last year, the artist EP found the prolific father and son duo crafting some of their most immersive productions to date. The three-track showcase went on to receive play and support from a wide assortment of fans and industry tastemakers, ultimately cementing the Estonian outfit as one of electronic music's most inimitable duos. Now, ten months on from the EP's release, Sound Avenue invites Powel, Haen and Secretly Famous to re-imagine the project for the 2023 spring / summer season.

The release concludes with Secretly Famous making their label debut with the lone interpretation of 'One Word'. Hailing from Australia, the Secretly Famous production duo first emerged in 2021 with a series of releases via 3xA Music and BQ Recordings, before going on to make their debut on Sound Avenue affiliate Future Avenue later that same year. 2022 proved to be an impactful year for the elusive pair, with a quarter one offering via Freegrant Music leading to projects for Sound Avenue affiliate 3rd Avenue, along with Massive Harmony Records and Sommersville. Now, stepping up to Sound Avenue for their label debut, Secretly Famous dials in a progressive minded take on 'One Word'. Built around a deep thumping framework, the Aussie duo focuses on rhythm and groove across the first act, nicely balanced with a healthy dose of atmospheric colour and elastic-like chord stabs. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the main break reveals a gorgeous primary theme, delicately dancing across exotic drums and phasing textures, as modulation peaks for uplifting finale.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint rounds out the month of April by showcasing new interpretations of 'Amirim' by Choopie and Golan Zocher. With a career that spans the better part of three decades, Israeli artist Choopie is widely regarded as one of his country's premiere electronic music talents. Releases via Bedrock and Yoshitoshi laid the groundwork for what has been a storied career, one which has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years. Meanwhile, Colombian born, Israel based artist Golan Zocher has enjoyed similar success across his five-year career, landing releases via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. Paired occasionally since 2020, Choopie and Golan have masterfully synthesized their talents and found that creative balance between progressive and organic house, taking their enchanting sound to Mango Alley, Sol Selectas and Choopie's own Agnosia Black imprint. Madloch's Sound Avenue has also been a landing spot for the duo, with 'Alush' highlighting the label's popular Correlation series in 2021, ultimately leading to 2022's three-track showcase 'Amirim'. Golan Zocher, Choopie - Amirim (Figueras Remix) [Sound Avenue]

Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint rounds out the month of May by showcasing new interpretations of ‘There’ by Jean Caillou. First emerging in 2016, Swiss artist Jean Caillou quickly established himself with releases via Magician On Duty, RYNTH, Sag & Tre and Underyourskin Records, where his deep, melodious sound flourished. Moving forward, July of 2019 saw the Zurich resident make his Sound Avenue debut with a well-received remix of Joe Miller’s ‘The Days’. Deep and enchanting in equal measure, its organic vibe immediately won over DJs and fans alike, sparking what has been a fruitful relationship between the Belgian imprint and Swiss artist. Now, nearly four years on from his label debut and Jean has recorded two artist EPs and two additional remixes, making him one of Sound Avenue’s most steadfast artists. Sitting as a highlight on Caillou’s resume has been ‘There’, a track which served as the lead piece on his first Sound Avenue artist showcase ‘Departure Unknown’. Its romantic overtones and intriguing vocal stylings found favour with a cross-section of electronic music tastemakers, while also receiving a progressive oriented remix from Dutch artist Daniel Van Der Zwaag. Now, looking to breathe new life into the track as we enter the summer season, Sound Avenue invites Berni Turletti, Beije and about : river to reimagine the production in their own unique essence. 

The second interpretation of ‘There’ is provided by Beije who return to the label for their third appearance. Based in Toronto, Beije first emerged in 2019 with a release via Paul Hazendonk’s Manual Deep imprint. Immediately recognized for their deep, hypnotic yet musical sound, the Canadian duo would find success in short order, landing subsequent projects with Stripped Digital and 3rd Avenue, the latter of which preceded their Sound Avenue debut via the label's popular Correlation series. Fast forward four years and Beije are now widely regarded for their elusive production touch, with recent releases ℅ Flug Lab, Proton Music, Songuara and Where The Shadow Ends highlighting their resume. A return to Sound Avenue seemed inevitable and now comes to fruition as the Toronto residents deliver a stunning rendition of ‘There’. Taking inspiration from the original, the Canadian duo flexes their free-thinking muscles and craft a version that moves further into deeper territory. Warm, groovy and undeniably organic; its chunky low end, pixie-like effects and exotic percussive arrangements work in perfect sonic unison. An expansive centrepiece sits at the heart of the journey, highlighted by transcendent lines, thought provoking vocals and glowing overlays, perfectly setting the stage for a finale that is equal parts groovy and emotive.

Jean Caillou - Shadowfax [Sound Avenue]

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint rounds out the month of September by showcasing new interpretations of ‘Salted Caramel' by Pedro Capelossi. With a production career that spans just over half a decade, Pedro Capelossi has quickly emerged from Spain's avant-garde electronic music landscape. The Brazilian born, Barcelona based artist has forged a distinctive sound which focuses on inventive use of atmosphere and rhythm, drawing the lines between global dance cultures without adhering to any fixed formula. From progressive minded roots, Pedro's sonic palette evolved into one with greater organic depth and broader usability overall, ultimately finding a home on Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas, a label where he has notched eight discography credits. Sound Avenue would also become a regular landing spot for Pedro's creations, beginning with the Madloch & Subnode collaborative project ‘Turmeric Latte'. It was this meeting of the minds which ultimately set the course for a creative swell, one which saw Pedro go on to release seven originals and two remixes across the next two calendar years for the Belgian imprint. With the year getting underway with ‘Salted Caramel', a four-track showcase of solo productions, Sound Avenue now invites Luis León, Jelly for the Babies, Eric Louis and Konomo to re-imagine the EP in their own inimitable styles.

The latest release from Madloch's Sound Avenue finds label stalwart Subnode returning for a new single. Hailing from Belgium, Subnode has found a way to create a personal universe by exploring electronic sounds, and ultimately finding his own place in the trend-driven state of underground dance music. Whether operating in solo capacity or alongside frequent production partner and Sound Avenue label boss Madloch; Subnode's creative vision would summon praise from a broad spectrum of electronic music tastemakers, in turn leading to a string of superlative releases with a distinctive voice all their own. Although best known for his house and techno releases, Subnode has diversified his portfolio with downtempo compositions, movie scores and a veritable smorgasbord of experimental electronica; all avenue's where he continues to stretch his creative wings. Sound Avenue and label affiliates 3rd Avenue and Crossfade Sounds would become primary homes for Subnode, with the Belgian artist racking up fifty-three discography credits for the three imprints across a five-year stretch. Subnode - Hypnotica [Sound Avenue]

Sound Avenue opens the month of October with a new single from label boss Madloch and frequent studio partner Subnode. Now approaching five years in their creative partnership, the Belgian duo has continued to build on their creative synergy, in turn compiling a catalog of resonant worldly sounds, one which has delighted a broad spectrum of electronic tastemakers in Eelke Kleijn, Laurent Garnier and Nick Warren. Often incorporating elements of dub, deep and progressive house; the duo’s cleverly coaxed creations dive into a whirlpool of spiralling directions; a trait which makes each one of their new projects much-anticipated. With the year being highlighted by the recently released two-track showcase ‘A Fading Dream’, Madloch and Subnode now combine their extensive forces once again, returning to Sound Avenue with the thoughtful ‘September Day’, alongside remixes from Monojoke, Fabri Lopez and DOT.

Continuing a strong fall season, Madloch's Sound Avenue welcomes Pedro Sanmartin back to the label for his debut EP. Born in Barcelona but currently calling Norway home, the Spanish artist has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. His haunting atmospheric storyboards, exotic percussive arrangements and deep immersive grooves have proved to be club-effective, earning the praise of Hernan Cattaneo, Pablo Bolivar and more. Emerging just over a decade ago, Pedro has taken his far-reaching sound to well-established imprints in Loot Recordings, Tenampa, Univack and Seven Villas, the latter of which has operated as his primary home. Sound Avenue has also been a landing spot for Pedro, with a well-received debut coming in 2019 with a contribution to the label's popular Correlation series, a release which would spearhead a second appearance on the series earlier this year. Now, following his latest vehicle for DP-6 Records, Pedro continues on an upwards trajectory as he returns to Sound Avenue for his first EP project entitled ‘Immersive Experience'.

Madloch's Sound Avenue continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Will Konitzer and MeowWow to the label for their debut single. Hailing from the USA, Will Konitzer first emerged over a decade ago on the strength of tracks for Bush Records, Krafted Music and Triple Fire Music. Noted for his timeless progressive style, the Austin resident became a name to watch and would go on to several successes across the next decade, adding Light Side Music, Whose Haus and Musicon in his resume, the latter of which would serve as his primary home. Meanwhile, also calling Austin, Texas home is MeowWow who entered into the world of electronic music as a DJ first, quickly becoming a fixture of the city's vibrant nightlife and performing alongside top international talents such as Nora En Pure. MeowWow's production debut would come just over a year ago via Krafted Underground, a release which would lead to future projects on Elevation London, Perfecto Records and more. Having remixed MeowWow's 'Mystic Garden' to begin 2023, Will Konitzer now joins forces with his fellow countrywoman for their first ever collaboration and Sound Avenue debut entitled 'Moon Dance', alongside a remix from label returnee Forty Cats.

Now approaching a three-year creative partnership with Sound Avenue, about : river has continued to further their bond with the label across the last calendar year, remixing Jean Caillou's 'There' and Madloch & Subnode's 'Club Del Ocio'; the latter of which was an ode to the uniquely designed Argentinean club. Rounding out the year was the first installment of remixes for ‘24 Years’, a release which would see Rockka, Dunadry and Mars Monero provide their own renditions of ‘Never Forget’, ‘Frozen’ and ‘Dropped’ respectively. Now, continuing the album’s reimagination process, Sound Avenue invites Kebin Van Reeken, Pedro Sanmartin, Gaspar Aguilera & Manu Pavez and Darper to reshape selections of their choice in their own unique essence.

Continuing a strong spring season, Madloch's Sound Avenue welcomes Secretly Famous back to the label for their first EP. Hailing from Australia, the Secretly Famous production duo first emerged in 2021 on the strength of early productions such as ‘Chimera' and ‘On Fire'. Noted for their ability to marry traditional and contemporary progressive sounds, the Secretly Famous duo was quickly tipped as a production team to watch going forward. The next three calendar years would see the Aussie duo continue to refine their sound, resulting in an aesthetic that was both groovy and melodic. Secretly Famous began their creative partnership with Sound Avenue in 2022 with a well-received debut via label affiliate Future Avenue, a two-track EP which would go on to yield twenty-two appearances across the Belgian conglomerate's label collective, with their lone Sound Avenue appearance coming a year ago with a remix of ‘One Word' by Estonian duo about : river. Now, following their latest 3rd Avenue vehicle ‘Firebullet Phoenix' to begin the year, Secretly Famous return to Sound Avenue for their first EP project ‘Yeon', alongside remixes from Poli Siufi, Mind of Us and Rockka.

Secretly Famous - Yeon (Mind of Us Remix) [Sound Avenue]

The latest release from Madloch's Sound Avenue welcomes Ercos Blanka back to the label for a new EP. A musician for the majority of his life, Italian artist Thierry Viti aka Ercos Blanka began his journey playing guitar at the age of seven, while taking cues from the likes of Fabrizio De André, Battisti, Mina and eventually Pink Floyd, the latter of which opened his mind to more experimental music. Three years on at the age of ten, Thierry was gifted a keyboard and a Kraftwerk CD, marking a turning point in his musical journey, one where he realized his true passion lay in electronic music composition. On the strength of early tracks such as 2011's ‘Digital Deep' and ‘Secret Love', Ercos established himself as a name to watch in the deeper realms of house and techno, pushing an aesthetic that was both haunting and effortlessly cool. Blanka's creative partnership with Sound Avenue began in 2020 and proved to be a resounding success, in the form of a contribution to the label's ‘Correlation' series with ‘Kafka', a track which generated more than 2.6 million streams on Spotify. Additional projects via Saisons and Seven Villas across the next four years would further establish Blanka's deep, dubbed out and character rich sound. Now, presenting his first project of 2024, Ercos makes a welcome return to Sound Avenue with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Heresy'.

Founded in 2011 by Belgian DJ and producer Madloch, Sound Avenue is an electronic music label that stands for quality and originality. Borderless in vision, the Belgian imprint has forged a path to multiple musical dimensions. Blurring the boundaries between house and techno, it’s a platform for anyone with an open mind and ears. Having built early momentum on a global scale, the label hosted events across Europe, North Amercia, Argentina and their home country of Belgium. These uniquely branded club nights featured some of the labels core artists (at the time) including Agustin Basulto, Beat Syndrome, Luis Junior, Matias Vila, Nicolas Rada and Sound Process. It set in motion what has been a unique course to musical freedom, pioneering various sonic blueprints over the course of eight years, while maintaining a strong bond  between its loyal and ever expanding fanbase.   

Originally intended to be a stand alone platform, as Sound Avenue experienced unprecedented growth its musical horizons expanded, eventually paving the way for two label subsidiaries in 3rd Avenue and Crossfade Sounds. The former drew influence from Sound Avenue’s early beginnings, showcasing the best in melodic house while the latter dove into the realms of deeper, dubby house and laid back modern techno.   

Now over one hundred releases into their journey, Sound Avenue has continued to flourish through precision, care and well thought out A&R choices.
