Giddyhead - Golden State [Sound Avenue]

Rounding out the month of November, Madloch’s Sound Avenue welcomes Giddyhead back to the label for a new artist showcase. Born and raised in Argentina, Cezar Lopez aka Giddyhead emerged from his country’s avant-garde electronic music landscape in 2013. Noted for his seductive grooves, inventive soundscapes and meditative drum arrangements, Cesar's craft shines through vividly, making each one of his creations a memorable journey. On the strength of early releases for Sound Avenue affiliate Crossfade Sounds, Giddyhead earned the praise of Hernan Cattaneo and was touted as a name to watch going forward. Subsequent projects via Balance Music, Traum and Sound Avenue across the next four years further cemented the Argentine’s knack for creating deeply immersive organic music; a sound which would lead to a career highlight in 2019, as Giddyhead partnered up with organic house star Oona Dahl for a release on UK behemoth Anjunadeep. It was Sound Avenue however which would serve a primary home for the Buenos Aires resident, with eleven discography credits across a nine-year stretch. Now, following a near five-year production hiatus, Giddyhead makes a welcome return to Sound Avenue with a four-track showcase entitled ‘Jitter Prompt’.

Released in October of 2022, the Estonia duo's debut long player was received amidst much praise. The twelve-track opus proved to be a crowning achievement for about : river, a father and son production team who had built their reputation on borderless creations that were not only club-effective, but never failed to tell a compelling story. Now approaching a three-year creative partnership with Sound Avenue, about : river has continued to further their bond with the label across 2023, remixing Jean Caillou's 'There' and most recently Madloch and Subnode's 'Club Del Ocio'; an ode to the uniquely designed Argentinean club. Looking to put a resounding cap on what has been another memorable year for about : river, Sound Avenue invites Rockka, Dunardry and Mars Monero to re-imagine '24 Years' in their own unique essence.

about : river - Never Forget (Rockka Remix) [Sound Avenue]

Madloch's Sound Avenue opens the new year by welcoming Darper back to the label for his debut EP. Based in the UK, Darper first emerged in 2017 with 'Res'; a deep organic creation that found a home on Anjunadeep's 'In Miami' collection. Featured alongside the likes of Lane 8, Patrice Baumel, Way Out West, Yotto and more, it immediately made the Hastings resident a name to watch. Choosing his projects wisely going forward, Darper then went on to record music for Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas, Balance Music, Culprit and more across the next four calendar years. Also highly regarded as a DJ, this creative swell of projects took the UK artist to some of the world's trendiest clubs and events, most notably Burning Man, where Darper's unique selections and exquisite programming delighted the desert crowds. Darper's creative partnership with Sound Avenue would begin in 2022 with a well-received remix of 'Tumeric Latte' by Madoch, Subnode and Pedro Capelossi. A release which would open the doors to label affiliate Crossfade Sounds, where the Hasting resident would make his debut in 2023 with a remix of 'Basileo Regolo' by Dott. Santafeo. The year would also see Darper record his first artist showcase for Earthly Delights, before going on to release his first Crossfade Sounds EP, a richly textured and hauntingly musical two-track showcase entitled 'Orbit'. Madloch's Sound Avenue continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Will Konitzer and MeowWow to the label for their debut single. Hailing from the USA, Will Konitzer first emerged over a decade ago on the strength of tracks for Bush Records, Krafted Music and Triple Fire Music. Noted for his timeless progressive style, the Austin resident became a name to watch and would go on to several successes across the next decade, adding Light Side Music, Whose Haus and Musicon in his resume, the latter of which would serve as his primary home. Meanwhile, also calling Austin, Texas home is MeowWow who entered into the world of electronic music as a DJ first, quickly becoming a fixture of the city's vibrant nightlife and performing alongside top international talents such as Nora En Pure. MeowWow's production debut would come just over a year ago via Krafted Underground, a release which would lead to future projects on Elevation London, Perfecto Records and more. Having remixed MeowWow's 'Mystic Garden' to begin 2023, Will Konitzer now joins forces with his fellow countrywoman for their first ever collaboration and Sound Avenue debut entitled 'Moon Dance', alongside a remix from label returnee Forty Cats.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint welcomes Jean Caillou back to the label for a new EP. First emerging in 2016 from Switzerland's avant-garde electronic landscape, Jean Caillou quickly established himself with releases via Magician On Duty, RYNTH and Underyourskin Records, where his thoughtful take on deep house flourished. Moving forward, 2019 saw the Zurich resident make his Sound Avenue debut with a well-received remix of Joe Miller's 'The Days'. Deep and enchanting in equal measure, its organic vibe immediately won over DJs and fans alike, sparking what has been a fruitful relationship between the Belgian imprint and Swiss artist. Now, nearly five years on from his label debut and Jean has recorded three artist EPs and two additional remixes, making him one of Sound Avenue's most steadfast artists. Fully formed within the creative confines of his Zurich studio, Jean's fourth Sound Avenue project 'Northern Lights', follows on from 2023's 'Montouk', a five-track affair bursting with charismatic charm and stirring musicality.

Founded in 2011 by Belgian DJ and producer Madloch, Sound Avenue is an electronic music label that stands for quality and originality. Borderless in vision, the Belgian imprint has forged a path to multiple musical dimensions. Blurring the boundaries between house and techno, it’s a platform for anyone with an open mind and ears. Having built early momentum on a global scale, the label hosted events across Europe, North Amercia, Argentina and their home country of Belgium. These uniquely branded club nights featured some of the labels core artists (at the time) including Agustin Basulto, Beat Syndrome, Luis Junior, Matias Vila, Nicolas Rada and Sound Process. It set in motion what has been a unique course to musical freedom, pioneering various sonic blueprints over the course of eight years, while maintaining a strong bond  between its loyal and ever expanding fanbase.   

Originally intended to be a stand alone platform, as Sound Avenue experienced unprecedented growth its musical horizons expanded, eventually paving the way for two label subsidiaries in 3rd Avenue and Crossfade Sounds. The former drew influence from Sound Avenue’s early beginnings, showcasing the best in melodic house while the latter dove into the realms of deeper, dubby house and laid back modern techno.   

Now over one hundred releases into their journey, Sound Avenue has continued to flourish through precision, care and well thought out A&R choices. It’s this attention to detail that has allowed the label to work with some of electronic music’s most esteemed artists, such as Budakid, Bachir Salloum & Zone+, Charles Webster, Cosmic Cowboys, Eelke Kleijn, Estroe, Facundo Mohrr, James Teej, Kurt Baggaley, Luis Junior, Martin Roth, Pablo Bolivar, Petar Dundov, PHCK, Powel, Santiago Garcia, Stelios Vassiloudis, Superlounge and Tim Engelhardt. 
 
Sound Avenue carefully curates each release to move their vision forward, building a close-knit family of scene veterans, while nurturing new talents such as Agustin Basulto, Giddyhead, Lucefora and Nicolas Rada. It’s this cohesive blend which has made the label bold, innovative and a standout in their field. With their finger firmly on the pulse of an ever evolving marketplace, it has been Sound Avenue’s foresight which has allowed them to adapt to this shifting landscape, while continuing to build their fanbase globally.
