To be funkier than the original is next to impossible. So I decided to be less groovy and instead bring forward both the sadness and rage that are right there in the lyrics...after all and sadly enough it hasn't lost its actuality over the last 20 years...'till finally I ended up with something like an early 80s rock ballad with some more recent sounds included...hope you enjoy!

Composer/Producer/Musician Robyn Phiri. Piano, keys, a computer and working brain is all I need. Fixated on chords, harmonies, rhythm and a tad soulful/jazzy/rhythmic though genre is sometimes immaterial. I like songs and sounds more than I appreciate genres but admit there is always a stream of something with warmth and happiness in my own work. Dedicated to my inner child whom I owe a lot of thanks and unspoken lectures for any trouble on the way... hard to please...

I work regularly with the other half of my brain, my sister VJ as Pozitive Play who play, produce and live music. It's kinda nice being an all female AND sibling team. Freaks people out at times if we finish each other's sentences off or have a five minute argument about a six part harmony or something but hey that's all in the name of fun. We like to turn out fun melodic choonz.

Committed to helping set up something that helps artists coming up behind us improve performance and get out there on the road to much fun... Particularly focused on helping young Zambians find their inner artist, haha!
