In a nutshell, Soundcheque founder, Laura Westcott, will become blind for a week to raise awareness of the genetic eye disorder, retinitis pigmentosa. Laura decided to partake in this challenge after discovering that her friend, Yvette Chivers - renowned DJ, presenter and founder of Beats Foundation CIC, has the condition RP. The focus of the evening will be entirely on the music and not the performers. To emphasise this, and to give everyone a glimpse into what it’s like to live with RP, we will distribute sight-loss simulators to the audience. Sound for Sight will showcase a wide range of musicians from across the UK playing a variety of genres, with celebrity headliners to be revealed on the night. 

The profits will be donated to RP Fighting Blindness, for research trying to find a treatment.
