As MC4D, twin brothers Matt and Chris Drake aim to lead a movement toward “folktronica,” mashing up Americana with electronic dance music. In the past few years, they’ve toured the U.S. with their burgeoning live show and done remixes for acts such as Flo Rida, Meghan Trainor and Steve Aoki. In this exclusive commentary, the brothers talks about the making of some of their tracks: “Afterlife” was one of their own first songs that audiences sang back at them at shows; “Feel Alive” was inspired by their trips to the country’s national parks; “Travel On” is “a fun song to blast on a road trip with the windows down,” says Matt.
