After weeks of deliberating over whether or not the EP needed a track to bring the project to a close, SoundControl suggest to L.Ariel to maybe try some light cooing/humming over a track that he had just produced (in hopes that she would agree).  Luckily, she did!  Adding the electronic auto tuned effects to her voice really helped add a space aged nature to the record.  The sonics of the track are actually designed to match the scene from the 1989 film, "The Wizard," where Lucas is using the Power Glove to demolish Jimmy in that Nintendo race car game!

L.Ariel x SoundControl - Outro

A few months ago, L.Ariel came to SoundControl with an odd chord progression and bass line already in place on a demo track that she was cooking up.  She wanted him to revamp the demo into a full blooded banger.  He used what she began in the demo stage and took it to the next level using his own mix of synths and percussion.  Initially she recorded a completely different hook to the song that didn't really feel right because of a technical issue with regards to the progressions in the chorus of the production.  She sat with it for about a month before sending it back to him with the hook that you currently hear.  The Caribbean feel of the song is a slight departure from the other material on the project and a real breath of fresh air.

L.Ariel X SoundControl - Loving You

The UK music blog, A&R Factory did an amazing review of this song here, https://www.anrfactory.com/l-ariel-x-soundcontrol-dead-to-you-a-conceptually-electric-edm-pop-collaboration/.  While I wouldn't describe the song as, "EDM," I can certainly understand how others might hear that influence.  SoundControl had produced this instrumental about a year prior to collaborating with L.Ariel on it but never really found the right artist to fit the song.  Actually it was the first song that the two collaborated on following an initial "meet" via twitter.  He thought that her voice sounded like that of a young Madonna and figured it might be the kind of track that could give her a bit more edge.  After some minor re-tweaks of the instrumentation and many mixes and masters back and fourth, the record is what you hear today.

Dead To You

Although this record doesn't contain any vocals from L.Ariel, SoundControl was very aware that the vintage nature of the track would appeal to her sensibilities for sure.  It sets an amazing tone for the EP, and sonically speaking, really puts the listener in a great mood.  SoundControl was completely influenced by the early 80s flick, "Breakin'," on this record.  He really wanted to capture that feel of Turbo and Ozone going at a rival dance crew on the floor.  The electronic vocal samples really put the song over the top, as well as the sick beat change at the end.  L.Ariel's presence graces the track in spirit as her vibe infiltrates the overall landscape of the song.

Diatribe Intro

Initially SoundControl had envisioned this record being more of a dirty r&b club banger in the vein of something the Chris Brown & Tyga would have done.  He shopped the song around to numerous r&b singers.  A few artists recorded over it, but honestly, they all sucked or were verrrrry average, so no placement was landed for it.  He pitched the track over to L.Ariel, literally having no idea what she would think of it.  Her initial response was that she loved it and said that it reminded her of, "Halloween," haha.  She recorded a rough demo to the track and it was clear that the record was going to be very interesting.  Her vocals came out super clear on the final master of the song and they really complement the track nicely.
