Mazda Miata NB2 1.6 Tuned - Race Track Sound Library Preview

This sound library features incredible sound of a rotary engine screaming at 9000 rpms. This flame spitting car runs without catalytic converter, stock air intake was replaced with Racing Beat Revi system and flames are thrown out of Invidia Q300 exhaust. It was recorded onboard with set of microphones under the hood (intake and two engine perspectives), on the back of the car (three exhaust perspectives) + stereo setup on the front seats in sync with engine / exhaust. Various styles of driving were covered, from regular driving through high speed spirited driving, aggressive accelerations up to RPM ramps and slow and steady increase for looping in game audio. Engine start, idle, stepping on the gas repeatedly and burnouts are also included. Exterior passes were recorded in mono and stereo, slow by sounds, fast ones, stopping, and differenty parking maneuvers. This library also features a lot of "foley" kind of recordings, so everything from door sounds to interior effects like handbrake, seatbelts, different locks, turn signals and so on.

This time no exhaust microphones. I do have the stems, but the exhaust literally sounds like wind. Retro Games Sound Library Preview

Volkswagen Golf vehicle sound library was recorded with two track Sound Devices 702 recorder. Foley was captured with mono Rode NTG3 microphone. The engine sounds were recorded with two Oktavas MK012 with 10dB pad and cardioid capsules. Engine was recorded during regular driving, accelerating and gear shifting, and more demanding way of driving with steady RPMs, slow accelerations and decelerations for game implementation. In this 110 minutes long car sound library you will find 23 engine sound effects recorded under the hood, 8 passby and engine exterior sounds, 7 foley effects including opening and closing doors, trunk, hood and engine recorded inside vehicles cabin.


Volkswagen Golf II 1.6 Diesel Sound Library Preview

Summer Ambients sound library contains 33 beautiful WAV files recorded with Sound Devices 702, Rode NTG3, two Oktavas MK012 in MS and stereo XY pattern. Summer Ambients Sound Library Preview

After successful recording session with wild cranes, I’ve decided to hunt for wild stags. Recording them was not as simple as I thought it would be. This library contains 45 files recorded with Sound Devices 702, two Oktavas MK012 set in XY pattern, and Rode NTG3.

All files sounds different, because I was recording everything in the middle of the forest during different times of the day. Recording wild animals is not something you can plan, and I had to record whatever I could, no matter what was happening around. About 90% of the files were deleted, and this 65 minutes of audio is 10% I got left with. In this sound library you’ll find reverberant sounds and ones that has less of the reverb. The distance between me and stags was changing, and that’s the reason of different amount of reverb. Also the animals were constantly moving, and sometimes they turned in completely opposite direction, so roars sounded more distant. Sometimes between roars you’ll hear subtle sounds of me moving close to microphones. I left those sounds so anyone can make cuts in desired places, but those subtle sounds happens very rarely. This library will be updated in the future with additional files recorded in different stereo techniques.

Roaring Stags Sound Library Preview

Chainsaw sound library features 102 WAV mechanical files recorded with Sound Devices 702, Rode NTG3, Oktava MK012 and Sony PCM-M10. You will find sounds like turning on and off the engine, sawing wood with different RPMs and different duration, close and distant perspectives of sawing with small and big engine chainsaws. In addition to designed files, you will find raw sounds, pulled straight out of the recorder. If you prefare to make your own adjustments, you can do that with raw files. The recording session took place during special event. 5 volunteers were preparing harsh terrain for mud turtles. All small branches and trees had to be removed. Only big chainsaws were recorded that day. The small one was recorded in different location.

Subtle river flow - Stereo MS

BMW 530D vehicle sound library was recorded with two track Sound Devices 702 recorder on the streets of Poland. Foley was captured with mono Rode NTG3 microphone. The engine sounds were recorded with two DPA 4061 omni microphones set under the hood. Car sound effects were captured during regular driving, accelerating and decelerating. Engine was recorded in two different configurations with one mic in engine compartment and exhaust, and other one with two microphones set under the hood. In addition to designed files, this library features RAW sounds pulled straight out of the recorder. In this 124 minutes long sound library you will find engine recorded onboard and outside, passby sounds, foley and engine recorded inside vehicles cabin.

BMW 530D E60 Sound Library Preview

Experience the sound of the honey bees hive with this 96kHz and 24bit sound library. All files were recorded outside the town, far away from the roads to capture the clean sound of hard working bees. 14 stereo files were recorded with Sound Devices 702, Sony PCM-M10 recorder, two DPA 4061 microphones hidden inside a hive and two Sennheiser MKH 8040 to capture the ambient in front of the hive. Every stereo AB interior recording can be split to mono to isolate the single buzzes. Recording those sounds was one of my dreams as a field recordist. I always wanted to hear the interior sound of a hive. This session wasn’t the easy one, because of my strong allergic reaction to bees, but thanks to a proper clothes and suit, I was able to walk through the bees for 2 hours without any harm. My main goal was to capture different sounds, not only the ambients but also some close ones, like the sound of the bees landing on their landing zone or just the interior sound of the hive. The overall character of the sound really depends on the time of the year and time of the day. I had a chance to record those insects before the feeding time. They were hungry and really active. In the future I’ll visit different farm to record additional sounds with different configurations. As always those files will be a part of free update. The total length of recorded files is 44 minutes.

Beehive Sound Library Preview

Bunkers sound library features room tones and ambients recorded inside old World War II shelters. 23 files with total length of 57 minutes were recorded with Sony PCM-M10 and Sennheiser MKH 8040 plugged into Sound Devices 702 recorder in ORTF configuration. Ambients were captured in small rooms deep inside bunkers, in hallways, inside old rusty water pipes and outside, between bunkers. It includes room tones with water dripping from ceilings,  small pieces of wall falling on the floor and wind getting through destroyed walls. The whole complex is located in Poland and it’s called Wolf’s Lair.

Cars In Motion sound library was built from 561 WAV files, with total length of 340 minutes. It was recorded in 96kHz and 24 bits with Sound Devices 702, two Sennheisers MKH 8040, Rode NTG3 and Sony PCM-M10. It features exterior sounds of cars driving at different speeds, slow/medium/fast/very fast pass-bys, reverse sounds, accelerations, braking sounds and a lot of additional files. You’ll find different engines, and cars with different character. From small BMW 114i through powerful Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8 with Magna Flow exhaust, up to fast twin turbo BMW 640D F12. In addition to cars there are also files covering big machines like tractor or excavator.

BMW 420D Gran Coupe sound library features 72 files recorded with Zoom F8, Sound Devices 702, two Sennheisers MKH 8040, two DPA 4061 microphones and Rode NTG3. Inside you'll find engine recorded under the hood, exhaust and inside drivers cabin (all in sync), exterior passes recorded in mono following a car and static stereo ORTF perspective. Pass-by sounds cover different speeds, from 15kmph up to 140, reverse, engine on and off, stopping and driving away. In addition there are few foley recordings, covering opening and closing doors, back or windows, handbrake and seat belts mechanism.

This is the sound of power. Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 litre engine, V8 with magnaflow sound library features 85 files recorded with Sound Devices 702, Zoom F8, Sony PCM-M10, two Senneheisers MKH 8040, two DPA 4061 microphones and Rode NTG3. Engine was recorded under the hood with two microphones, on the exhaust and inside drivers cabin at the same time. Exterior passes were also recorded with different gear and different perspectives. The mono file was recorded with 8040 following a car all the time, one static perspective with 8040 and stereo with Sony PCM-M10. Additional foley files were captured with one 8040. This library includes sound effects like regular driving, accelerations, engine on/idle/off, rpm ramps, reverse, slow and fast pass-by, stopping and driving away sounds and more.

Volkswagen Golf V 1.6 FSI is a small sound library which features 37 files recorded with Sound Devices 702, Zoom F8, Rode NTG3, two Sennheisers 8040 and two DPAs 4061 microphones. Inside you'll find engine recorded onboard (engine/exhaust/drivers cabin in sync) and exterior passes. Electromagnetic Field sound library features 216 stereo 96kHz recordings of more than 80 different electronic devices. The total length of the files is 6 hours and 18 minutes. Post production process was limited to EQ and compression with some noise reduction in few cases, but most of the files are ready for further processing and designing completely new sounds. Everything was recorded in stereo, and in some cases sounds are wildly flying across not only whole frequency spectrum but also pan image. Inside you’ll find a lot of different hum noises, hiss and electrical swipes and whooshes, buzzing high pitch and low pitch sounds, beeps and bleeps, servo and small engines running in a different way, data processing kind of sounds, interference and corruption effects and more. Engine was recorded in sync with interior cabin ambient, and you can expect different styles of driving. In addition to designed sounds, you'll find raw recordings for each perspective (2 engine microphones, air intake, 2 exhaust microphones). Soundholder was founded by self-taught sound designer Dawid Moroz in 2015 as a result of evolving passion to sound effects. His journey with sound started in 2010 when he came across Celldweller and ProTools for the very first time.

After months of experiments with sound in 2012, he got a chance to work as an intern in a recording studio. After completing the internship he got a job in the same studio as an assistant.

In 2013 he was asked to record sound effects for a mobile game, and that’s where the all started. Since that moment in time, he worked as a sound designer for Artists Entertainment company, where he designed sound effects for different games, including the award winning game called The Shadowborn (best game in 1ndie World competition, and first place for best game production in Indie Showcase during Digital Dragons 2015 game convent).

Today apart from working on sound libraries, he’s designing sounds for upcoming short movie written and directed by Catero Alain Colbert starring Michelle Rodriguez and Lukas Haas.
