Finally, after weeks of trying, a recording made in a windy field in Lincolnshire of two WW2 Lancaster bombers - Thumper and Vera (alias the BBMF's Mk. 1 Lancaster and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum's Mk X Lancaster) - perform a stately fly-past at East Kirkby this afternoon. 

Chances are you'll never hear this again, unless Just Jane gets off the ground one day! Fingers croseed.

During the dawn chorus recordings, one of our local blackbirds came for a morning snack. He warns all other birds in the area to keep away, lands on a plant-pot next to the microphone, has a feed from the bowl of raisins, hops on to a plant-holder, which rattles as he lands, and then flies away. A nice little sequence, I think.
