Intimate Publics, Osheyack’s second album, is an homage to Shanghai, the city he has called home since 2012. Over the past ten years the producer has evolved from an avid club-goer to a key member of the vital soundscape that emerged from ALL Club and its predecessor, the now defunct club The Shelter. As hinted by the title, which draws on American social theorist Michael Warner’s work on publics and counterpublics, the album expresses a commitment to mining the utopian potential of club music, forging new worlds and generating future social relations, just as the artist bids farewell to the city at a moment of uncertain transition. While tracks like 'Edging' and 'Thrall' continue to present his signature collage of harder club music, the rest of the record reveals a shift to synthetic approximations of acoustic instruments. 'Still', the central track of the album, is a piece composed almost entirely of samples found on Vocaloid (a vocal synthesizer developed by Yamaha, commonly used to give voice to Japanese virtual idols). While echoing themes explored in previous projects, like the nature of realism and authenticity in a techno-mediated landscape, Intimate Publics is charged with an unexpected emotional candor and vulnerability, unveiling a personal side Osheyack is only beginning to explore.

Originating amidst a time of artistic transition and personal maturation, "Hope Chess" stands as the sophomore album by Kenji Araki, a Vienna based digital artist and musician with roots in Japan. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of sonic influences and practices, this album is home to calculated subtleties, bold juxtapositions as well as a unifying tapestry of texture and harmony. Though Kenji Araki’s musical situatedness in a heterogenous web of post club approaches stays evident, "Hope Chess" takes a more left-field turn. It defies potential expectations built up by the debut record "Leidenzwang" (June 2022) and shifts to a more introspective sound, granting the melodies, vocals and textures more time and spatial freedom to unfold. Rhythmic elements are narrowed and placed carefully, yet they inhabit a distinct character and purposefully complement other elements and narratives.
As we traverse through the album, we come across distorted synths, shape shifting guitars, grimy noisescapes, eerie melodies and contemplative vocal parts. Moments of serenity interweave with controlled eruptions, conveying feelings of vulnerability and catharsis. It’s an honest reflection of Kenji’s personal life throughout the last year.
While evolving into an integral part of Vienna’s transgressive underground club and electronic music scene, Kenji constantly stayed open for new influences, friendships and aesthetics, leading to the formation of the novel sensitive indie duo "ENNS" together with friend, DJ, producer and promoter YBsole and continuous output of hyperpop blossoms with Viennese art pop luminary Anthea. This desire for collaboration is also reflected on "Hope Chess". Half of the album has features - including the frequent collaborators YBsole and Anthea, as well as KoiFin, The Roomate and SISKA.
Instead of letting other's actions and missteps determine the outcome of things, namely playing hope chess, Kenji Araki’s Album "Hope Chess" is about sincerity, introspection and collective trust.

Money Lang — 'Have Heart'

Precious Metals Vol.1 is the inaugural compilation from Precious Metals, a label, radio show, and club night.

Since its debut as a radio show on London’s NTS in 2012, Precious Metals has been committed to showcasing  the outer reaches of experimental club music, both locally and globally. Under the direction of DJ and producer Endgame—emerging from South London’s pioneering club collectives Bala Club and Endless. The platform has been focused on capturing the organic cross-pollination of sounds from the inner-city and the sublime chaos of the present moment.

In 2020, Precious Metals evolved into a full-fledged label, seeking to unearth artists that are visionaries on their own terms, eschewing conventional genre limitations. Representing an international roster of uncompromising, iconoclastic artists both established and emerging. Bringing an emotionally charged vulnerability to club culture.

The compilation encapsulates this ethos, and ambition, the culmination of the past 12 years of endeavour. Featuring some of the legends and emerging stars of electronic music.

United in compassion and solidarity for the Palestinian cause and its ongoing humanitarian crisis, all proceeds from the album will be donated to support efforts toward humanitarian aid in Gaza, and Palestinian emancipation.

Club Late Music and Morsel are happy to present a new addition to GUN-X __ a series of releases that enlarge the processes of collaboration beyond the borders of the Global URL Nation. For each project, members of the GUN community collaborate with members from another collective or label - exploring the results of cross-pollination and pooling across the global ecosystem of electronic music.

After an edition with Heel.zone in 2020 and with Hide Productions in 2023, we warmly welcome Morsel from the UK ! Morsel is a Manchester based label and arts platform inspired by literature and folklore, exaggerating the mysticism of our urban environments. Launched in 2023 only, their very just and sensitive approach convinced us instantly to extend the series with them.

For this one, Morsel wrote up a poem, which would serve as the primary source of inspiration to create a new track by musicians from both extended communities. 

It resulted in 17 tracks from Antonia XM, Bademjan, Clair X, Cralias, Dj Würm, Eurrope, excel dj, Flegma Joe, Griigg, Hajj, HR boat party, Ice_Eyes, Junior XL, Locre, Lucy Grey, Lukann, Older Brother, Pithe, Tobey, Yaka, Yauhei ASJ & Ziyiz.

“Never In My Born Days Did I See Such Night” is a collective exploration and experimentation into poetry as inspiration for composing music. The album oscillates between a sombre, dynamic landscape through a selection of heart-felt ambient tracks to bass driven club rhythms, mirroring the dark melancholic yet heavenly imagery painted in the poem. 

The album opens with angelic trance-like soundscapes decorated with glitches and robotic vocal elements that lead to a heavenly chorus of rich pads and textural field recordings. This feeling of euphoria is confronted with the latter half of the album drawing inspiration from deconstructed club music, flitting between sub basses and broken drum samples. The sludgy beats gather energy through the closing tracks through euro-dance-esque synths and electro-inspired drum patterns where they are met by the final track; an experimental collage of textures, computerised dialogues and dystopic sound bites that draw the compilation to a hypnotic close.

The release also comes with a zine of written contributions, which were inspired both by the original story, and by the tracks of the compilation, with Andres Komatsu, atrophene, Brice Reiter, Charlie O'Brien, Diana Serik, griddyeyes, Griigg, Ifuseekamy, julie nicol, Julieta Colantonio, l'autre champ d'eau, Léo Dubois, Le Spieman, Luz de Amor, Naledi Chai / Pillow Man, Older Brother, RAVEN, Solstice, & zozo.

The zine experiments with concrete poetry, broken narratives and long form writing as a response to the sonic landscape of the compilation. The collection delves into themes of longing, self discovery and hope through a textural lens reflected in the soundscapes of the album. Visual elements accompany the text facilitating melancholic narratives through depictions and arrangements of words, collage and graphics supporting the project.

For one year, all proceeds of the compilation will go towards Medical Aid for Palestinians. After that, the release will be proposed as Name Your Price, like all our other ones, and benefits will be reinvested into CLM & Morsel for upcoming projects and functioning costs.
