Zusammen mit dem afrikanischen Sänger und Gitarristen Tibau Tavares haben Pupkulies & Rebecca hier eine exotische Wundertüte voller stampfender Grooves, lebhafter Akkorde und eingängiger Vocals gepackt. Der Titel Saude bringt all das auf den Punkt, was während der Auftritte des Trios immer wieder enthemmte Entzückung provoziert. Nämlich einen einzigartigen Sound, der raffiniert das Live-Gefühl einer Band mit treibender elektronischer Tanzmusik kombiniert. Und der entspricht wiederum genau dem Beuteraster von Eule:nhaupt & Molle:nhauer. Das tropische Trommeln und die Samba-Pfeifen ihres Remix passen sich klanglich ganz wunderbar um die markanten Vocals und schieben den Titel mit energischem Schwung ganz weit nach vorne. Die dazugehörige Radio-Version reduziert diesen Ansatz auf sein wirksames Prinzip. Im Alleingang steuert Mollono.Bass zusätzlich einen Remix bei, in dem er die wolkenlose Stimmung des Originals mit seinem unterschwellig zwingenden Groove in die Zange nimmt.
	


Pupkulies & Rebecca joined forces with African singer and guitarist Tibau Tavares to deliver this exotic groove cocktail full stomping rhythms, sparkling chords and catchy vocals. The title Saude puts in a nutshell all the elements that make the gigs of the trio a rousing listening experience full of exciting twists and turns. These elements draw their power from both the energetic live feeling of a band and the dance floor boost of electronic beats.  A mixture that is obviously very compatible with the musical approach of Eule:nhaupt & Molle:nhauer. The tropical drums and samba whistles of their remix are a perfect match for the striking vocals of the original version, adding a proper dose of floorward drive. This principle is reduced to the maximum in an additional Radio-Version. Also there is a Mollono.Bass remix that embeds the cloudless mood of Saude into a perfidious groove understatement.

" IN DA OUD ", premier titre de l'EP originel du groupe Joy Squander est un petit bijou condensé de rythmes, qui sonnent comme la trame d’un générique de film d’aventures. L’ouverture de scène avec l'onomatopée « BANG ! away to Mars » nous annonce pas moins que la conquête de l’espace pour ce groupe audacieux qui n'hésite pas à tenter des mélanges sonores détonants. L’instrument traditionnel berbère, le oud, s’invite dans l’univers du hip-hop. Le titre lui-même est un clin d’œil à cette association. Joy Squander nous fait voyager au travers de cérémonies tribales, de conduites exaltées à la K2000, le tout orchestré à coups d’uppercuts, d’interrogations de scratchs et de rythmes endiablés. 

Qu’on se le dise, " IN DA OUD " va enflammer vos pistes jusqu'au Big " BANG ! " final.

" IN DA OUD ", first title of the original EP of Joy Squander is a real treasure made of condensed rhythms which sound like the soundtrack of an adventure movie. The onomatopoeic « BANG ! away to Mars » tells us about nothing more than the conquest of the Space by this audacious group, who isn’t afraid about creating explosive sound mix. The oud, ancient Berber instrument, invites itself in the hip-hop universe and the title is a wink to this twinning. 
Joy Squander makes us travelling through tribal ceremonies, crazy sequences, like in K2000, and everything is accompanied by uppercuts, interrogations, scratches and hellish rhythms.

Be ready, “ IN DA OUD ” is going to set fire on your dance floor till the final Big “BANG” !

Warman was born in Bethnal Green, East London. He then moved to Hackney at the age of seven where he enjoyed a normal idyllic childhood, frequently climbing trees and scrumping over Victoria Park. Within Warman's home there was always music in some shape or form although nobody played an instrument, his mother sang and his father was a terrible singer no matter how much he tried. Warman enjoyed his school years very much and when he first heard The Beatles at the age of 11, he was walking home from school when he passed another school building and heard music. He was so transfixed by the sound so much he walked up to the Dansette record player to find an Ep cover for the song playing - "Love me do". He decided to join the school choir. He was picked to sing at the Royal Opera House in 1964, where he sang alongside Maria Callas and Tito Gobbi. Warman considered this a pivotal event in his choice of singing as a career.

Warman was (and remains) a keen fan of both The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. He had no hesitation in choosing between being a Mod or a Rocker once he had heard The Who. After Jimi Hendrix (considered a "Guitar Messiah" by Warman) had burst onto the British music scene in 1966 when Warman first heard "Hey Joe" he realised all he wanted to be was a Rock Star. Whilst in school Warman wrote a song called, "Cosmic Butterflies" and joined a band called "Sounds Like Six," with Kevin Molyneux on lead guitar. During the late 1960s Warman frequented many live music performances including Jimi Hendrix thrice and other groups including The Move, The Iveys and Pink Floyd whilst using the Melody Maker as his bible.

Finding the original on an old swing record at a random house one very hungover Sunday morning, I couldn't resist having a crack at remixing it.

This is not the final version but i wanted to put it out there to gage the responses opinions of others, especially with regards to mastering before I release the final version.

Also I am happy to give the stems to anybody who wants to have a crack at remixing this themselves as long as they give me a credit somewhere.

After Shoot him down and St. James Ballroom, which together registered over 500,000 views, a support tour in Germany with Parov Stelar and Caravan Palace now they are playing concerts in Vancouver, Istanbul, Israel, Paris, London, Moscow to Prague...

Great fellow artists like Alle Farben, Tunebrothers and Shiny Mob (aka Caravan Palace) the Sound Nomaden, 3asy - K and Jamie Berry have made remixes of Gangster Love.   They create a distinctive combination of Electro Pop, Vocal House and Electro Swing.
It should be danced to..., if we should ask.... the ladies and gentlemen... like at one of their concerts.
