Does what it says on the tin. 


A completely different mix to what I’d usually play: starting off with slow and heavy UK bass, finishing on house & techno. I wanted to present some of my favourite recent songs, represent some of the people close to me and pick some of my all-time favourite songs which would fit the distinguished sound of Corsica Studios.


Playing my favourite club I wanted to make the most of it and really test the system. Being the opening set means you set the vibe for the night - I could pick some of favourite unconventional selections and ease into more conventional stuff as the dancefloor started to pick up. This is exactly how it played out, picking some of my bassiest cuts around 100pm for an early percussive workout. Before moving onto classic & contemporary house / techno. 


Considering the occasion there are a few nervy moments but happy the flow was organic and I am happy with the final product. 


A final note to say after 5 years I have decided it's time for a change so I am now going under the name HNRI. This allows me to stay closer to name wise to really show I am backing myself, but still separate it slightly from my name with a different version.

HNRI - OPENING CORSICA STUDIOS 28/10/21

I decided to compile a mix with some of the stuff I don't play out live much because it's a bit harder and I'm quite scared to play these tracks in normal situations. There are a few well contemporary well known tracks in here, mixed with a few classics and a couple of songs that I personally love. Some of the track combinations you may have heard me play out loud, but the majority of music in this mix I haven't.

Admittedly this mix is a little different to some of the other's I've uploaded, but simply and quite frankly ones music taste does change.

I have now upgraded my set up to include the 4 channel Pioneer DJM 750 MK2 mixer, two Pioneer 350B CDJs and also a vinyl channel with the Audio Technica AT LP1240 turntable. 

Some of the sound quality of songs in this may sound different and some of the mixes a little off beat. This is due to me only just starting to learn in the last month how to mix with vinyl. The last song of the mix is vinyl so I had to adjust to trying to get the blend with the last two songs as smooth as possibly whilst also engineering the sound to have the ultimate song on parr with the penultimate one. 

Lot's of genres including garage, post-dubstep, breakbeat, electro and UK techno. I'm sure you'll recognise some of the songs, but drop me a message for tracklisting or any other comments.
