📀 Auf ein Wiedersehen mit guten Freunden 📀

✍️ Wahre Freundschaft kennt weder Zeit noch Raum. Sie lebt in den entsprechenden Individuen unabhängig von äußeren Umständen und Bedingungen. Zusätzlich ist räumliche Distanz in unseren digitalen Zeiten nur eine Frage der Mittel und Möglichkeiten. Durch das Internet kann in Echtzeit kommuniziert werden und der andere ist quasi nur ein Fingertippen oder Mausklick entfernt. 
Im Laufe des Erwachsenwerdens durchläuft und unterliegt jeder von uns vielen Veränderungen. Ein Wechsel des Wohnortes, Auslandsaufenthalte oder auch das kommen und gehen von Familienmitgliedern und Freunden sind nur einige Beispiele dafür. Manche dieser neuen Gegebenheiten mögen uns Missfallen. Doch das Festhalten an vergangenen Zuständen bringt niemanden weiter. Die Kunst ist mal wieder das beste draus machen. Menschen welche uns wichtig sind, verlassen (zumeist) nicht so ohne weiteres unser Leben. Es liegt an jedem Einzelnen seine Beziehungen zu hegen und zu pflegen. In 2023 gilt mehr denn je, wo ein Wille da auch ein Weg. Wahrer Freundschaft ist keiner zu lang oder zu weit …

After a short trip to snowy and cosy Stuttgart to picao, the desire for sun and sea has grabbed us... . 

So today we welcome you from Florida's pearl Miami. There, of course, we had to meet Adrian aka Magician On Duty. A talented artist and manager who also brought attention to our scene in Europe with his original podcast series of the same name (https://soundcloud.com/magicianonduty/sets/journey-series). At least for all those who like organic deep house. In the course of time, Magician On Duty developed further into a label with releases by, for example, https://soundcloud.com/thomas-gaarthuis, https://soundcloud.com/david-hasert and many more. Here, too, the original spirit is preserved.

When we heard the mix for the first time a few days ago, we were a little surprised and speechless at first. Downtempo? Adrian? Basically, we had expected something else, namely his signature sound: Organic Deep House. But the first impression was deceptive. After just a few minutes, he increased the tempo to his usual level. 

His set is an exciting 'afterhours' journey into the thicket of melodic and hypnotic electronic music. In over three hours of music, he has packed in pretty much everything he has in the way of tools and hidden gems to make this mix a special one. Enriched with instrumental and vocal passages like the classic "I can't get no sleep" by Faithless, he even gives the recording a feeling of being at home and nostalgia. Alongside all the positivity, however, he doesn't forget to implement a fair amount of depth into his set. Thus, he daringly but skilfully keeps the balance between lightness and ecstasy. All in all, the mix has become an absolute cream puff, which we definitely don't want to miss anymore: Namely timeless, individual and with a lot of love for detail.

If afterhour sounds, then here. Although, the mix really does suit any time of day or night.

Besides the mix, we didn't miss the chance to ask Adrian a few questions that we don't want to withhold from you.

Q: What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

A: I liked music since I was a child, it was sort of my refuge... listening to tapes from Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, Queen and more. I guess I got more exposed to music, in general, while I was breakdancing with my friends. We were listening and training on funk, jazz and hip hop.

Q: What makes a good "afterhour"?

A: The soundtrack to an early morning party can be incredibly powerful, helping to create an atmosphere of excitement and energy. Whether it's downtempo or something more energy driven, the music can help to set the tone for the party and create a sense of unity among those in attendance. 

What makes it good? The ability to connect with everyone around you. That feeling when you look around and everyone is on the same frequency. If we are connected, we are all on the same journey. 

Q: Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?

I think this is one of my favorite sets that I have recorded, as it has all the ingredients necessary to facilitate a fantastic journey. There are so many ways that you can approach an afterhour set, I don't think there is a certain formula or format that you should use, I think the artist has the freedom to pursue any mood or genre as long as It creates a connection between people.

Sit back and relax! Because a journey awaits you that is made for an afterhour.

Heute Nacht beginnt die Sommerzeit! Die Lücke der gemopsten Stunde könnte Schleichcast°38 wieder füllen, denn dieser Mix kommt mit so einer Bandbreite an Emotionen und Erzählungen daher, dass sich die darin enthaltenen 80 Minuten Musik irgendwie länger anfühlen. Kurzweilig und ausschweifend zugleich. Von spoken word über funky-Gude-Laune bis dark & bouncy, zwischendurch aber auch mal dreamy-melancholisch. Ein Potpourri an musikalischen Einflüssen mit vielen Vocals, in Einklang gebracht durch ausgefeilte Transitions und Spannungsbögen, die fast ein Hörbuch daraus machen. 

Wir freuen uns riesig, den lieben Eric aka Der Eva (@der_eva) von der tollen Slow Punchhh Crew als Teil unserer Serie dabei zu haben und schicken dich mit Schleichcast°38 nun auf eine musikalische Reise, die out of Genre-Boxes denkt. Happy listening!

~Zeit für ein schleichendes Frage & Antwort Spiel~

>>Wer bist du und woher kommst du?
Ich bin Eric und komme aus Hamburg.

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
In meiner Jugend habe ich unterschiedliche Musikrichtungen wie z.B. Heavy Metal, Punk und auch HipHop gehört. Auf den Partys wollte natürlich jeder immer seine Mucke auflegen. Das war dann immer ein musikalisches Durcheinander.  Irgendwann habe ich mich immer mehr für elektronische Musik interessiert. Die Lust danach im Club aufzulegen, wurde daher gleichzeitig auch größer. Zusammen mit Til von Push und TISKO haben wir dann in der Astrastube in Hamburg die Partyreihe “Alle Lampen an” gegründet. Das waren die ersten Gigs. Hat mega Spaß gemacht!

>>Was hat dich für das Set inspiriert?
Das Set ist musikalisch sehr unterschiedlich. Melancholische, traurige, euphorische und minimale Tracks treffen aufeinander. So sind eigentlich die meisten meiner Sets. Ich mag es lieber abwechslungsreich. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Track “Blossom” von Andreas Balicki (@andreasbalicki), den ich seit mehreren Wochen immer wieder gerne höre.

>>Welcher Moment deines Künstlertums hat dich nachhaltig beeinflusst?
2019 haben mein Kumpel Jan 10ner (@10ner) und ich unser Label Slow Punchhh (@slowpunch) gegründet. Seit dieser Zeit habe ich viele unterschiedliche Künstler:innen kennengelernt. Der Kontakt ist immer wieder neu und spannend. Ungefähr ein Jahr später haben wir dann einen kleinen Raum zum Mucke machen im “Space Monkey Studio” bezogen. Dort teilen wir uns eine Etage u.a. mit den Muutes (@muutes), Andreas Balicki (@andreasbalicki), Difool (@difooljustdifool) und den Menschen vom Meeresrausch Festival (@meeresrausch / @meeronautenmusik). Diese Synergie hat mich musikalisch sehr positiv beeinflusst.

Hello everyone. I was honored when Adrian asked me to record the 200th episode for the Magician on Duty Journey Series. 

For this special occasion, I want to take you on a journey back in time to my teenage self falling in love with electronic music for the first time. I grew up with most of these songs and associate many special moments with them that I shared with special people. 

I think back to this time very fondly and would like to thank everyone who accompanied me on my personal journey.

But now it's time to buckle up and enjoy the trip.

During the last seven years Leipzig-based Hannes has been touring around Europe and beyond, playing countless DJ sets at renowned clubs and festivals under different monikers.

He's made a name for himself as Nikolas Noam and with his techno project GYRL which has shaped down-tempo club music for years to come.

Under his JOIA persona he is continuing this legacy, albeit with a more musical edge to his productions and a simplified approach.
JOIA is happy when he can make beats and work on harmonies at home in his studio, because that's where he's most comfortable.

When he's out playing DJ sets, however, he's known to gather large crowds with bass-heavy downbeats delivered against a melancholic and harmonic backdrop.

With JOIA Hannes is always trying to stick to what's most important in any from of art - a simple idea, well executed.

✍️ Eine Selbstständigkeit als Kleinunternehmer, bzw. Gesellschafter unter dieser Regel, ist Segen und Strapaze zugleich. Aufgrund der gesetzten Umsatzgrenzen müssen die anfallenden Aufgaben größtenteils eigenständig erledigt werden. Es gibt oft keine freien Kapazitäten für zusätzliches Personal oder Outsourcing. Dementsprechend werden die weniger schönen Dinge wie Buchhaltung, Verwaltung oder auch die Anfertigung einer Steuererklärung unternehmensintern übernommen. Natürlich gibt es bereits digitale Tools oder auch menschliche Unterstützung für viele dieser Aufgaben, allerdings übernehmen diese nur einen teil des Arbeitspensums. Deshalb findet man sich jedes Geschäftsjahr wieder vor dem Monitor ein und trägt Zahlen in Tabellen ein. Diese Bestandteile der Selbstständigkeit als Kleinunternehmer mögen wenig heroisch sein, müssen jedoch erledigt werden.

🎵Der heutige KataHaifisch Podcast ist eine DJ-technische Komposition von Hashi. In den folgenden 77 Minuten geht es recht entspannt zur Sache. Die Basslines sind treibender Natur, in Kombination mit Vocal, Percussions und Synths wirkt die Musik jedoch primär beruhigend. Tranceartig zieht die Musik uns in ihren Bann. Verloren zwischen Sound & Gedanken lassen wir uns durch den fortgeschrittenen Sommertag gleiten.

When Pleinvrees was cancelled last minute due to weather conditions, it had almost left an eager crowd in tears. As Bastenaken22 organized a replacement event in a few hours and Maga decided to show up and give the crowd such a magical gift that they easily had forgotten about the cancelled Pleinvrees.   This is a closing set from one of the best events by Bastenaken22. This was a closing set played after a 6 hour magical set by one of the greatest talents in melodic house and tech: Maga.   He was so kind to play one of his recent perfect sets at this party just before leaving for his gig in Cova Santa, Ibiza.
