The sky was a soft delicate shade of blue but that didn't stop it from falling upon them. Where had the rain come from? Why was it here on today of all days? As they walked upon the shore, looking out upon the splashes atop the ocean and the soft waves which rolled in against the sandy beach, they held one another's hands. Perhaps this would be the last time, for soon they would be long gone from here and all that would be left might be the remnants and puddles of a day lost in time. 

Mark E is a bit of a UK legend if you will, we don't say that lightly. For over fifteen years he has been producing music which has delighted and intrigued dancefloors the world over, he is infamous for weaving samples throughout his work like a rich tapestry and his music is reminiscent of the golden era of house, funk and disco in which the dancer was king. This new EP is forthcoming on 18437.

Return to Space Ghost’s celebrated Dance Planet LP with six summer-ready remixes by @central8000, Dirk 81, @Jarrenc, @nelsonoftheeast and @space-ghost-1 himself, releasing June 10.

The Oakland-native’s romantic and empowering house sound has enjoyed a growing audience made up of fans and tastemakers alike. The remix package comes courtesy of friends and label affiliates, each lending their touch to Space Ghost’s work.

Capitalizing on the inherent warmth in the Bay Area-artist’s sound, Tartelet label head Dirk 81 subtly threads a slow, rolling breakbeat into ‘Deep’, channeling 90s RnB and Balearic.

Danish underground powerhouse and Help/Regelbau label affiliate Central injects some up-tempo garage house energy into ‘Be Yourself’ – without losing the swirling romanticism of the original. And LA-based producer Jarren, neighbor to Space Ghost on UK label Apron, leans in to the punchy Lately Bass and turns up the swing on his own version of the track.

Space Ghost comes back to ‘Emotional Healer’ and creates a pointedly club-tooled ‘Dance Mix’ version with a panoply of 90s touchstones delivered in the classiest of ways. To finish, Nelson Of The East’s ‘Forever Dub’ of the track adds a sharp and snappy strain of modern steppas.

Exclusive to the digital release, Space Ghost also offers up an ambient mix of ‘Emotional Healer’ for purely horizontal escapism, with his softly whispered mantras as your spirit guide through the aqueous pads. Nelson of the East closes the EP with trippy acid lines, dubbed out piano and off-kilter rhythms with his floor pleasing Acid Mix.

Releasing June 10, the vinyl comes in two versions; black standard and a limited-edition marbled pink/black.

In July 15th we welcomed a DJ duo by the name of Gustav (DJ Clae) and Jonatan (Lightning), who served us a set of fresh beats and classic east coast flavoured hiphop from the 90's and forward. Gustav starts out the first 1 hour and 6 minutes, then Jonatan is on for the rest of the show.

Secretsundaze return with a second volume of their new mixtape series.  After the success of the Joe Claussell tape they turn to Carista for another introspective mix aimed at a relaxed home-listening session.

In May 2018, Carista performed one of her first international gigs at Secretsundaze in London and went on to play 2 other shows for them that year. A year later, she has become a mainstay on the European club & festival circuit, playing to an ever growing, passionate and loyal fanbase week in week out, already playing shows that most DJs would only dream of, including closing a stage at Lowlands festival to an audience of 10000. No wonder a recent Mixmag article crowned her as “A DJ star in the making”.

Her residencies on NTS and Red Light Radio showcase her love of house, boogie, broken beat, disco, funk and beyond. Her DJ gigs can also see her explore further into house and techno but this mixtape showcases a different, softer side of Carista blending ambient soundscapes, jazz, dub and soul as well as some poignant words from Nina Simone.

This is Carista’s debut physical format release so don’t sleep!

When two of today's finest selectors and DJs join forces for a three-hour B2B set, you know things are about to get funky. Recorded at Ohm in April 2018, the present mix finds fabled Neroli boss Volcov and Mother Tongue mastermind Patrick Gibin merging their widescreen vision and savoir-faire for a straight out compelling session of twin-engined floor heroics, capable to spiff up the greyest day.

To quote it soulful would be an understatement so much soul - as a genre and character - blatantly infuses the whole of this mix; and to limit it to the sum of its parts like most coldly executed mixes out there may be broken down to, would be missing the point completely. The groove is alive, and both DJs sure know how to keep the ticker running; weaving narratives as intricate in their build as they are simple to enjoy with your brain shut off. Hip-hop, soul, disco, r&b, jazz, funk, boogie, the spectrum's wide but the flow's smooth as one would expect from such vividly unique talents.

Not a mere addition of technical qualities and unparalleled selection skills, the union of Volcov and Gibin has given birth to an ephemeral giant of sorts, capable of transcending time and space through music like few can boast being able to. If mixing is an art as we believe, these two gents clearly belong to the higher class of wax-spinning maestros. When style and content are combined with such faultless taste and unrelenting efficiency, all one can do is chuck it, listen and let the vibes pour.
