Not often do you find people in this industry that can withstand the tides of time and flow through the trends finding success refining their sound. It’s even harder to come across success stories of people who have taken this to the next level to become the infallible taste maker. SoundPark met with one such taste maker, Malta native Sean Sammut aka The Element. Sammut created and nurtured a party concept from the ground up that helped distinguish his country as an unbelievable Mediterranean gig destination for seven months of the year. Since 2011, his flourishing party concept, Cosa Nostra, has been bringing in the industry’s most prolific house and techno djs and has set a precedence for pushing the scene forward in a big way on the Maltese Island. We hand the keys off to the Maltese boss for his SoundPark debut. Welcome to the Park!

It has been clearly proven that the Sicilian Mafia Themed Sunday Club Night ‘COSA NOSTRA’ has been one of the greatest unexpected outbursts in the local party scene.
In just 4 months, Cosa Nostra invaded Malta and unleashed a club night that strongly recaptured the island’s musical madness. Assisted by Sean Sammut’s (The Element) together turned this dream into a reality .
From then onwards, Cosa Nostra's aim was to keep at a consistent yet striking pace, a weekly packed club night. This succeeded immensely, strongly backed by its three main residents known for their profoundly deep record bags, playing a mixture of Sexy, Dark and Futurstic House & Techno.
Hand-picked renowned locals were also invited as guests each week, giving them the opportunity to slam their beats in front of their supportive and dedicated audience, an audience that kept the vibe twirling until the early hours of the Monday mornings.
Apart from performing at Prestige, Cosa Nostra decided to add a tasteful twist to its popular concept by going 'On Tour' bombarding various local venues in St. Julian’s including well known clubs such as Places, Sabor & Playground, alongside hosting large scale events.
With favored season two at their doorstep, Cosa Nostra's primary aim is to continue escalating this booming concept to eminent levels. To help this avail, foreign artists shall be headlining the event on a monthly basis. The team have also chosen to mark their territory yet again, this time moving to a newer more superior setting at sky club which has been given a more prominent face lift to add nothing but sheer class to the explosive concept, including the finest sound system around Funktion one.
In less than a year Cosa Nostra's ability to deliver a five star club night is evidently referred to as second to none. Their motto is strongly intensified by perseverance dedication and skillfulness at its best!

Apart from his solo excursions, Andu is also part of the trio Lisière Collectif, a music project that we deeply admire at the Oufff HQ.

Through his eclectic musical repertoire, Andu pushes the boundaries of what the "Romanian sound" can be, exploring the realms of minimal, electro, acid and dub, always taking us on a journey that is both expected and unexpected at the same time. For his OUFFFCAST, Andu presents a distinctively introspective and emotionally reflective version of his musical universe. シーンに登場した頃は複数の名義を使いこなしていたが2000年後半ごろから本人名義Alejandro Mossoの名で活動し始める。AIR LONDON やLOMIDHIGH ORGNICなど他複数のレーベルからリリースしながら自身のレーベル”MOSSO”を始動させる。

今回公開している音源は2020年7/31にスイス、ローザンヌにある Folklor CLUBで収録されたLive音源です
An Argentinian who’s musical forte has been bred in Berlin, Alejandro Mosso has been at the forefront of developing innovative percussive, organic and delicate electronic music for more than 15 years. As a worldwide touring artist, he has performed his captivating live sets across South America, North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. The Berliner is also a dedicated and prolific producer, releasing forward thinking projects that span the genre spectrum since 2003.

With his particular brand of uniquely musical club music, Alejandro challenges the understanding of what dance music could be. Throughout the years, he has developed a distinctive sound palette – a perfect balance between electronic and acoustic sounds, sitting at the intersection of deep house, minimal techno, tribal, and melodic dance music. Constantly defying the lethargic ‘dj tool’ concept, Mosso strives to produce immersive musical experiences, unapologetically pouring emotions, melodies, and harmonies into the traditionally rhythm-dominated genre.

Throughout the years, world renowned labels like Cocoon, Third Ear, !K7, Hivern Discs, Sushitech, Sol Selectas and more have welcomed the Mosso sound to their catalogues. In 2017, he released his album “Isolation Diaries”, a first class listen that presented remixes from two of the most interesting and influential electronic music producers of the last decades: Burnt Friedmann and Ricardo Villalobos. The Argentinian also runs his own label “mosso”, focused on releasing untarnished material with a sense of character and individualism present in each release. 

Mosso’s live show is the quintessential presentation of his artistic career. Over the years, he has perfected the art of moving dancefloors with nightly innovation and a full command of intricate rhythms. Swaying between percussive tribal beats, 4×4 house grooves, and melodic emotional layers, Alejandro Mosso has performed at clubs such as Watergate, Rex Club, Fabric, Womb, Tresor, Amnesia, and Kater Blau. He has also headlined festivals such as the Spanish and Argentinian editions of the esteemed Mutek.

2020 finds Alejandro with a busy release schedule, contributing with original material and high profiles remixes to the catalogs of labels like Do Not Sit, Akbal Music, Sirin and When We Dip’s XYZ. As a masters student of Sound Studies and Sonic Arts, Alejandro continues to expand his artistic practice into the worlds of sound installation art and 3D audio.
