So earlier in the year I went a bit cray and decided to start cutting together bits of tracks, unfinished projects and just some random jammed sounds into what would be a short collation of music. I invited some peeps from x4 to contribute their offcuts and orphan tracks - and they gave me some lovely golden noises. Over the course of the next month or so, I cut, jimmied and shoehorned them into some semblance of a continuous tape. The mixing is quite all over the place, it wasn't really decided by tempo or key which bits would go together, and so it's quite a dalliance around the subject of electronic music, but mostly leaning towards warm synthy pieces.

It was an odd thing trying to put this together; making it continuous meant finding bits that could work well together, but also constantly remixing the parts in tempo, key and frequency bias (occasionally just shoving a serious low/high pass over huge chunks of audio). It was quite odd trying to gel things together this way, oddly un-precious about the sanctity of the audio I was given and thankfully given free license to work it how I saw fit from the contributors. Thanks you lot. :heart: 

In the end, it nearly reached an hour, and took nearly a month. Which was crazy, totally sent me around the twist; but the feedback I got while I was making it, and the incredibly nuanced (and very careful) criticisms from those who proof-listened was invaluable and quite frankly, made it. The tracks themselves were beautiful, and thanks to the brief I heard a side to my friends' music that I'd never heard before. Bonkers, gorgeous.

Anyways, the rambling probably has to stop. There was an earlier version of this blurb that, for some reason, focused on an incredibly meandering, shaggy dog story about teasing the tracks in like a sex toy into an orifice - in all honesty, it's probably a good thing I accidentally deleted it.

Emma Grace(https://soundcloud.com/emmaline-ginger-1), born in Assisi, 1994 is an American-Italian musician. She started studying cello at the age of 8, then continues studying violin for three years until she decides to proceed on her own independent way.  She lived in Paris and continued her music research in Venice with different projects and various artists and genres, involving music therapy studies. She attends Violin and Electronic Music at Conservatory, giving in to new creative experiences and collaborations, but the school structure it’s too tight to integrate all the rest of the projects, so she continues otherwise. At the age of 22, her first album "Backgrounds" is out, giving birth to her new chapter of raw compositions combining violin and vocals with the simple objective of being true to what she can give. On February 2020 she releases her latest work, Wild Fruits and Red Cheeks. She continues independently, searching for new material, and performing arts involving creativity and community. Now she is based in Nido, a place away from modern cities, an open house, in the middle of Italy, always chanting, always working on new stuff.

What was a crucial sonic experience in your life?

Listening to marbles. I must have been 6-7 years old. I remember I use to keep them in a jar inside the living room's wardrobe and I was going there to listen to them every once and a while, in some occasions, very often, as if it was the highest pleasure of the day. That sound of marbles hitting each other is the first sound where I actually felt almost a sexual pleasure just by listening. Sound as an isolated pleasure, separated from memories, from genres, from ideas and expectations. To stand still, and to listen. And i still love that marbles sound.
