We're nearing one year of PAIJATA, and throughout this time I have really enjoyed trying to push the thresholds of what is commonly called ambient music.

A big part of this is seeking music from outside the larger and more respected labels, digging for music created by various minority groups, focusing on composing new harmonies by using many channels of audio, and also avoiding, as much as possible, the quantised and beatmatched mixing styles almost demanded by 'ambient techno'. 

This show is a partial departure from those efforts: returning to the simple methods, it's a 2-channel mix featuring moments of kinetic music, some of which I connect with beatmatching.

The Moscow techno artist Leo Vasilets aka QphoriQ (https://soundcloud.com/qphoriq), whose EP was recently released by Corpus Records from Berlin, took the 10th Радиант for RS in his hands. Despite the minimalistic dark sounding and rigid rhythms of his solo projects, Leo gathered together meditative dub techno and echoes of cosmic Detroit sound for his special RS mix.

Dark Science Electro presents: Lokier guest mix

A member of Harmony Rec. and a man responsible for two releases in the discography of the label. Johannes Morgenstern aka Jamida has been a confidential friend to us since many years ago. Frequent exchange between Prague and Berlin led to harmonization of our musical path, life opinions and souls in general. 

Adding his contribution to the podcast series was thus inevitable accomplishment. In this particular mix, he was not afraid to put on some stompy kicks and broken rhythms. By those plus other fuzzy means, he brings the listener to his compact ritual. 

Valian Kollektiv is a group of artists that was established by him and other like-minded people in Berlin. Together they are throwing parties and publishing music – in the following days, they are releasing a beneficial trilogy EP. The profit from the sales will flow on the account of Mission Lifeline, that helps the people in the refugee camps in Europe in the hard times of the worldwide virus contamination and lack of drinkable water. Stay updated about that. Good music is on the way!
