The inaugural and first edition of a monthly series of mixes that I’ll be dropping on Soundcloud. 1st edition recorded by myself, and future ones to feature other friends and lovely musical legends. This one I whole heartedly dedicate to LDL, and the ongoing musical inspiration they provide me on a daily basis.

An exploration of springtime sounds and textures, with a particular focus on rain, sunshine and choo choo trains. Inspired by the first weeks of March, meandering through London, watching the blossoms ignite.

Another traverse from quiet, beatless and spacey soundscapes, into deeper and pumpin’. Pack you cagoule, and have a wander.

Paduan | 004

Let’s all take an amble down the ambient pathway with Paduan. Amsterdam based, and host of monthly radio shows on South London’s Balamii. His sets are often filled with drone, subtle melodies and organic textures. 

This recording gradually meanders from beatless, unsettling beginnings towards a lush, downtempo and dubby destination. Perfect for bright spring mornings.

BLOOMLOOPS 004 | Paduan - Apr '24

Recorded live at the first Rebloom on Saturday 11th May, a party series in London that celebrates deeper minded music. The first instalment was hosted at Avalon in South Bermondsey on a scorcher of a sunny day. 

This set was recorded quite early on in the programming, and an opportunity to transition from the ambient soundscapes played by the ever charming Tolly Odd, and try to lay a foundation for Shoal, Laura BCR and Ario who played later on in the evening.

BLOOMLOOPS 006 | Tolly Odd - June 2024

For July’s edition of Bloom Loops, we are thrilled to welcome Escap Verte. Escap will be taking us on a delightful meander across still sun-soaked soundscapes, contemplative sonic vistas and more abstract experimentations; into dubby swaggering 120, chuggy rollers and the broken-esque beats that are a cornerstone of the prolific output from the Ecke Records label. 

This mix features some newly produced and unreleased material from this new solo project and friends, alongside some forthcoming/fresh bangers and deep cuts of old. Put together with love and tenderness.

BLOOMLOOPS 007 | Escap Verte

This set was recorded live at Springkell in November of 2023 - a special gathering of artists, audiophiles and friends in a Scottish castle, with 3 non-stop days across 2 rooms, of ambient, techno and experimental music. For the past 3 years it has been a supreme annual highlight to attend as a guest, and last November I was honoured to be invited to play there for the first time.

The set was recorded early on the final evening of an icy cold weekend, so I looked to build the energy as we entered the final phase of the musical programme. A blend of new cuts and old classics.

BLOOMLOOPS | 008 JJ @ Springkell '23

What a perfect way to drift into autumn this year, by welcoming Inbuilt Obsolescence to Bloom Loops for our end of September edition, with a specially composed and recorded 1hr live performance. 

IO is the long term musical project and brain child of duo Owain Arthur and David Kemp, who have most recently been hosting a monthly live guest series (Cosmic Render) at London's Next Door Records. 

Plug in to be taken on a deeply emotive and heartfelt hour long journey, that ebbs and flows across psychedelic, still and propulsive musical landscapes. 

In their own words: "Inspired by that feeling of post-summer nostalgia, we wanted to make something which brought across the feeling of searching through memories and realising something new on this journey."

Recorded with an array of instruments into Ableton, in the living room and mastered in the studio.

We round up the debut year of Bloom Loops, and kick off the next chapter in 2025 with a b2b from Rebloom residents JJ & Tolly Odd. 

Settle down for 4 hours of blissful, drifting ambient, downtempo, and field recordings. Recorded live at the Sauna Social Club as part of the Rebloom takeover back in September 2024. 

A perfect way to ease you in to 2025, and soothe the body and soul following the festive period.

BLOOMLOOPS 012 | JJ & Tolly Odd

It's a real honour to welcome a friend and prolific DJ and Producer, Dan Thorman to the Bloom Loops hot seat this month - with a happy flashback to those pre-summer feelings of excitement. This set was recorded live at an Amoenus Sonic Garden event at The Bath House in Hackney Wick, back in the middle of May 2024.

Settle in to 3 gorgeous hours of blissfully textured gentle bangers, filled with subtle movement and delicate rhythms. Although this has more of a home-listening focus, Dan brings a dancefloor sensibility to the set that was felt on the day. 

In Dan's words: "It was awesome to hear the music on such a beautiful sound system on a sunny and warm late-spring evening. So great to see people stepping out of the beanbags at various points, to embody the music"

BLOOMLOOPS 010 - Dan Thorman @ Sonic Garden

As the final rusty leaves tumble from the trees, nights draw in around us, and the cloak of darkness drifts towards our doors - we welcome the inexorable and unique talents of Lynne to the Bloom Loops hot seat. 

Now based in London, Lynne brings a truly unique and individual sound to her mixes, weaving together the outer realms of techno, experimental dance music, and drum 'n' bass with textural layers that twist together genres and pull dancers in all the right directions.

This hour-long recording seamlessly blends experimental soundscapes, with steppy 140bpm groovers. With unpredictable breaks and evolving soundscapes, listeners are invited to reflect, move, and lose themselves in the quiet beauty of autumn’s final days. Ideal for late-night introspection or a walk under the dimming sky. See it as a quiet goodbye to the season’s golden hues

Fhionbarra has reignited the Bloom Loops mix series for 2025 with an intriguing exploration at 160 BPM. 

This first mix of the year blends deep dub, driving drum and bass rhythms, and pulsating techno grooves, incorporating leftfield, experimental sounds and field recordings to beguile, groove and soothe. 

A journey through experimental beats and intricate textures, as always Fhionbarra's selection is a forward-thinking and genre-blurring ride. Perfect for those who seek the unexpected within the realms of bass-heavy, polyrhythmic music.

A celebration of the most vibrant spring in recent memory. 

A lucid dream-like journey, recorded beside a stream in the beauty of the Calder Valley. Resident of ambient leaning artistic collective 'resonance', adam presents a glimpse of resonance in West Yorkshire for our springtime Bloom Loops sonic journey. 

Beside a quiet and peaceful spring between Todmorden and Hebden Bridge, adam has incorporated field recordings of 'the pond', blending these with a selection of deep listening ambient tracks, and otherworldly field recordings of springtime. The running waters of the valley, the birds, bees, and a bunch of friends.

adam is a key member of the resonance crew - a network of gifted souls who produce journeys between light, sound, and setting with their local community as well as showcasing the gifted artisans and the magic of the valley to events further afield, most recently in London and Manchester.

For this special edition of the Bloom Loops podcast, we're honoured to welcome Ario — founder and curator of the acclaimed Astral Industries label. Widely respected for its impeccable curation and timeless releases, Astral Industries has carved out a unique space in the world of ambient and experimental electronic music, with each release offering a meticulously crafted sonic journey.

In this recording, Ario brings that same curatorial sensibility to the decks, guiding us on a deep and expansive journey. It begins with a psychedelic abduction to another world, and as the mix gradually unfolds you emerge into an expansive world of progressive and vintage tech house before dissolving into deep, swirling tribal techno. True to Ario's refined aesthetic, it is a set that balances both introspection and propulsion. 

Recorded in Hong Kong, at a secret location, this mix is a teaser for the upcoming Rebloom event on Saturday 17th May—where Ario will return to the Rebloom booth for our birthday celebrations, with a special closing set.

Recorded Live at New Grass 2025

After a small hiatus we're delighted to welcome Planatia to the helm of our latest Bloom Loops. Pietro (Planatia) is a Berlin-based selector and sound artist from Rome. Part of the founding members of Radiocircolo collective, he's also a resident on Cashmere Radio and Radio Alhara and part of the electroacoustic duo Nuvola.

Through his sonic navigations he travels the in-between spaces of electronic and organic worlds, weaving liquid soundscapes for inter-dimensional listening.

This special recording is part of the final closing set of the ambient stage at New Grass - an event in Brandenburg showcasing multi-genre electronic music. The first edition took place 21-24th February 2025.

This month's Bloom Loops recording comes from the mysterious world of Aaja resident, and NTS Radio guest selector: Mochyn Daer. Slip through a signature selection of over two hours of bubbling organic ambient, haunting cosmic rhythms and steppy half time. 

In her own words: "As we move into autumn and winter, there is a quiet decay. The outer shell all dies away, and just the roots are left. I wanted to really lean into that organic energy, when you remember that even in this season of hibernation, there is activity below the surface. Things are bubbling away, ready to rebloom in the spring. I explored the interplay between organic textures and the mechanical, that I think is at the heart of so much of the experimental deep sounds that I love"

For the latest edition of Bloom Loops, we’re very happy to welcome the special talents of Sciama. Now based in London, Sciama (Michael) is not only a hugely talented DJ and producer, but also genuinely  one of the nicest people you’ll meet behind the decks or on the dancefloor. 

He’s been steadily making his mark with consistently well-crafted releases on heavyweight imprints like Samurai, Ooda (co-curated by Forest Drives West) and Auxiliary, each showcasing a careful balance of weight, detail and atmosphere. His sound draws influence from UK bass, drum ’n bass, dubstep, hypnotic techno and the more avant-leaning edges of deep techno, all shaped into a signature style that's focused and intentional.

As a DJ, Michael has delivered standout sets at the likes of Ouroboros, Mostra and Perpendicular. Most recently, his powerful 3hr b2b alongside o.utlier at Springkell left a lasting impression. That same clarity and control comes through in this Bloom Loops mix — a bass-heavy, BPM-spanning journey that moves from 140 BPM sdubstep through to 150+ BPM halftime, unfolding with tension, flow and purpose throughout.

An artist we deeply respect and always enjoy sharing space with — and one you should absolutely seek out next time you see his name on a lineup.

We’re kicking off 2026 with one of our favourite artists out there — Timnah. 

Featuring music from Archypness, Mario, Konduku, Filippp Scorcucchi, Reeko, Stenny, Ocyra and many more...

A key figure in Amenthia Recordings, Timnah has spent years shaping her distinctive approach to DJing, curating sets that flow seamlessly across techno, bass, drum & bass, ambient and experimental textures. Her work with both Amenthia, and another Basel based collective: 'A Walking Contradiction', reflects a commitment to well-crafted, immersive electronic music. 

In all of her performances, Timnah demonstrates such versatility and range - from swampy psychedelic halftime, to driving classic 4/4. Regardless of the time of day or night, she consistently delivers standout performances at clubs and festivals across the world. As a resident of Mostra festival, she continues to deliver memorable sets year after year - which I encourage you to seek out and listen to. Other techno focussed festivals such as Paral.lel, Monument, La Nature and pe:rsona are platforms on which she has consistently impressed with her ability to balance energy, tension and atmosphere.

This Bloom Loops mix recording comes from her closing set at FOLD back in 2025. An absolute masterclass in four to the floor psychedelic techno, with precise and seamless blends - showing her mastery of narrative, pace and depth. It’s a set that demonstrates both her technical skill and her innate understanding of how to guide a room through a compelling sonic journey, through the darkness to a beautiful heartfelt conclusion.

A hugely talented artist, Timnah continues to push boundaries. Her name on a lineup instantly sparking interest. Hope you all enjoy the recording. xx

The second Bloom Loops of 2026, and now the 20th edition of the podcast has landed. 

We are delighted to welcome Cobahn, with a specially recorded set to add to the collection. An Amsterdam-based DJ originally from Korea, her sets fuse deep, hypnotic techno with organic, meditative energy. Emerging from Seoul’s spiritual techno scene and refined through European club circuits, her selections blend experimental, avant-garde and ritualistic grooves that invite listeners into immersive soundscapes.

In her own words: "Recorded in Amsterdam on a grey afternoon while I was recovering from a cold. I was feeling a bit inward and slow, and that mood naturally shaped the mix.

It sits around 125 BPM for 60 minutes, moving through dubby textures, moody rhythms, and a balance between broken beats and four-on-the-floor.

Nothing too dramatic, just a steady, warm flow.I hope it keeps you a little warmer during the winter days."
