We're very excited to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of "HEX Recordings" so for the occasion, we decided to create the most powerful release so far, a Triple-Vinyl Various Artists, which includes the creations of some of the artists that are closest to the Movement but never released on the label until now like Rebekah, Cleric, Remco Beekwilder, together with new members like Benjamin Damage, AEIT, Imperial Black Unit, End Train, Rommek, Maere, 6Siss and of course some of the ambassadors of the label like Under Black Helmet, VII Circle and the two HEX Founders Paolo Ferrara and Lorenzo Raganzini.

The title of the release is "Angels From Hell" and it represents the most ambitious release ever created by HEX. 3 flaming Red colour Vinyl, together with some new T-shirts + Hoodie characterised by the VA's unique design.

15 Artists will represent the unity under Techno of 7 different countries: France, England, Italy, Netherlands, Lithuania, Belgium and Israel.

Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the Italian dj & producer Luigi Tozzi (Hypnus Records / Mental Modern).

Luigi Tozzi has calmly cemented his position as a leading DJ & producer of the deep techno scene for his distinct brand of techno that merges the sound of hypnotic techno with organic grooves from ambient and dub techno. 
Raised in Rome, he takes influence from the timeless Italian sound, which he’s further developed with an emotional, swirling, dubby atmosphere.
There’s an unmistakable texture to his productions.
Tozzi’s unswerving commitment to his sound, alongside his pensive and considered development as an artist has brought him to where he is today, with a touring schedule that’s taken him to some of the finest clubbing establishments around the world.
We are thrilled to present a one-hour session from Luigi, featuring many gems that perfectly conjure up the deep, dubby and trippy tonalities that characterise him so well.

Sounds From NoWhere Podcast #154 - Luigi Tozzi

We are delighted to celebrate our 6th anniversary with the Spanish producer Architectural (R&S Records / Non Series).

Architectural’s original foundations were anonymous, recognising no need to reveal who was behind the alias. 
But the same man who took DJ booths and festivals by storm as Reeko needed a new alter ego to channel his effervescent spells of creativity.
Diving deep into another realm, Architectural delivers powerful and intelligent sounds that amalgamate classic influences with his own modern vision of techno. 
It is a route that has taken the Catalonian-based Asturian creator on a very different artistic path to the one initially mapped out.
Architectural laid the foundations with five solid releases between 2010 and 2014 on his own label Architectural Records (Architectural 001-005). 
In 2012 Architectural released Peacetime with Semantica Records, an imprint revered for their highly critical A&R process and so the selection of Architectural proved he was on the right track; both at the hypothetical drawing table and with the first hard samples of his construction work.
Juan's next step in 2013 certified Architectural's maturity. 
He published The Blue Album (Reeko & Architectural) with PoleGroup, a fusion of his two projects that resulted in a spatial and futuristic sound with jazz hues and feels of a movie soundtrack.
2014 brought The Secret Chapter, a release steeped in cinematic flavour and inspired by what may happen at night in a remote forest. 
The mood was dark and boasted an outstanding fusion of jazz and techno.
In 2015 Architectural launched Amour with Dutch label Wolfskuil, courtesy of Darko Esser, a release of pure quality. 
As a record it was far more dance floor focused than the preceding release, bringing luminosity, melody and life without ever departing from the intimate moods and obsession for precision that have become a hallmark of Architectural's work.

As the project defined and matured, Juan finally revealed that himself as the force behind both Reeko and Architectural. 
Does this mean he's not entirely sure about what he wants to create? 
Does he suffer from bipolarity? 
Maybe, instead, he's the kind of artist that during the Renaissance would have been called a total artist, a true creator, a maestro in the widest sense of the word.
Alongside his concrete releases, Architectural’s concept has also been delivered to iconic clubs and festivals worldwide. 
Dancers and music lovers at Printworks London, MMA, BASSIANI, Tresor Berlin, Robert Johnson, Awakenings & L.E.V. Festival have all had the opportunity to absorb his next-level creativity and vision. 
As the lines and framework of Architectural’s concept continue to rise and give form, the landscape of Juan’s techno vision becomes an ever more defined audio world in which to immerse the mind and soul.

We could not be more honored to host one of our favorite artists on the series.

After a successful first Season One in 2021- Oliver Rosemann returns with a collaboration for Season Two. 
No one less than Alexander Kowalski himself teams up for a promising cooperation.

Oliver and Alexander working together by sending track ideas, loops and arrangements back and forth. 
Each one develops their own ideas, then brings them together in a perfect balance for mental dance floor tools. 
Both artists are well known for their outstanding sound design and mixing skills.
Get carried away by pounding drums and razor sharp hi-hat patterns. Intense synth workouts, nebulous atmospheres and well-chosen floating percussion parts are designed to melt the boundaries between modern sci-fi sounds and 90s techno vibes.

This release is an absolute weapon and meant to create a higher state of tension and high voltage energy on any techno dance floor.

With a self description expressing a priority to make the crowd move, his music does not fall short of its intention. 
Forward thinking in its conception rendered highly functional in its implementation, Border One’s music finds middle ground in an increasingly polarized musical climate for the genre; whether it be through his selection as a DJ or his technicality as a producer.

Hailing from London, R.M.K is an exciting new project by Fossil Archive label head Roberto. 
It represents a faster and more intense take on his unique brand of Techno.
He utilises his knowledge and past experiences, which include regularly playing at Berghain and Tresor in Berlin, as well as Fabric in London, to develop his individual sound.

During his 20+ year career in music, he has formed friendships and worked in partnership with other respected artists such as: Trevino (Marcus Intalex), Jamie Anderson, Robert Owens, Goldie and Nastia.
Although the focus is always on the very heart of the most raucous of raves, R.M.K never shies away from groove and funk.               
This is conveyed in a live Show that utilises classic hardware from the golden age of UK Rave.

Berlin native Lucinee steps up for a solo EP on BPitch, delving into trippy new territory across three tracks.

Having cut her teeth in the underground music worlds of Hamburg and Berlin, Lucinee’s approach to musicality is grounded by a firm DIY mentality and a desire to explore the weirder, more hypnotic realms of the sonic sphere. 
With regular gigs at some of the world’s most respected clubs, and a host of releases on various beloved labels, she is already part of the BPitch booking roster, but makes her sonic debut on the label with this EP.

Across just three tracks, Lucinee packs in a world of sound design, fusing warm psychedelic swirls into driving techno with touches of ambient, whilst using her voice as an instrument throughout. 
The result is a masterclass in hypnotism and groove, with touches of nostalgia and the beating pulse of a packed dancefloor.

The aptly-titled ‘Drift’ floats us through a trance-inducing swirl of ambient grooves and subdued vocals, landing somewhere between the abstract and the visceral. 
Taking a more minimal turn, ‘Point of No Return’ weaves its way through a smokey warehouse with surreal psychedelic echoes. 
Rounding off the EP, ‘Napoleon Complex’ leans towards the darker sides of electro, with touches of EBM and cold synths driving into the night while exploring themes of fragile masculinity and the facades of power and confidence.
Hooning in on an impeccable production technique, Lucinee finds new forms at the boundary-pushing edges of electronic music. 
Like a drop of acid in a sea of sound, Point of No Return is one for the heads.

Hyperactive and prolific, he is a relentless producer and a seasoned engineer with machines. 
Equally at ease in the studio and on stage, his euphoric analog live shows and DJ sets are the perfect synthesis of his pure and textured contemporary techno: a journey towards dazzling space-time blurring soundscapes that can venture into icy and melancholic depths as well as robust and perilous turbulences.

Having built a steady reputation over the past few years with appearances on various beloved techno labels and gigs in some of the most respected clubs and festivals on the planet, Tigerhead has found her sonic niche, driven by an obsession with digging for hidden treasures, and underpinned by a deep musicality fostered over time as a musician, vocalist, DJ, and producer. 
In dealing with the more abstract corners of electronic music, she has harnessed an ear to create unconventional, boundary-pushing sounds without losing sight of the groove. 
For this EP she explores the more sensual realms of techno, carving out new aesthetics that teeter between hard techno beats and hedonistic vocals. 
All the vocals are her own, and were recorded in single takes to capture authentic expressions in the moment.

Philippe Petit is originally from Brussels, Belgium, where he started DJing in the early nineties.
After spending 15 years in London, he moved to Chamonix, France, in 2010 where he launched two labels: Knotweed Records (2011) and Decision Making Theory (2013).
He has a string of techno releases on his own labels, as well as on: Rekids SPX, Symbolism, Figure SPC, EarToGround, Super Sound Tool, Molecular Recordings, Involve, Soma Records etc.

He has played at Tresor Berlin, Suicide Club, La Graviere, Batofar, Weetamix, Ostra Club, Ground, Corsica Studios, and Berghain / Panorama Bar to name a few.

“Against Control EP” is the very first Kätte release, and is no joke at all. 
Joining forces for the opening track, the four producers involved (Nöle, C-System and NX1) are delivering a serious vision of a dance floor track pretending to define their perception together; dynamic, pulsating and fat, while yet hypnotic but with an industrial feeling. 
A2 is signed by Nöle with one of his most good jobs to date: straight, dark but percussive, a piece of a high quality techno made for the experts. 
Following on B side, we find NX1 offering his modern techno vision with their trademark signature sound, mental, driving and tough for a quality trip.

Hailing from Thessaloniki, all three artists already have established their name on the international front with releases on some of the best labels of the scene. 
 
This time they united to bring the heat on Renegade Methodz with six cuts of their unmistakable style for a lesson in proper techno production.
 
Presented symbolically under the name ‘Rework Our Unity’, this release serves as a united front of Techno music coming from Thessaloniki, aims to inspire future generations and to provide a glimpse of hope for the Greek electronic music scene.

ENDLEC is closing side A with a club weapon called ‘Learn To Speak. 
Built around a synth patch that almost resembles a human voice, it's a big metallic cut with a galloping bass to shutter any dance-floor and keep the crowd on their jumping feet.

ZHARK 0004 CICLOP was released in 1997 combining a variety of different approaches ranging from Industrial HipHop and cinematic ambience to Dub Techno.

Erich Fromm's “Escape from Freedom” was published 83 years ago. 
His assumption was that modern man, having freed himself from the shackles of the old days and living freely, longs to return to the totalitarian, destructive and conformist world. 
In 2024, the pluralistic and individualized way of life of the so -called West seems self - evident. 
Boundless freedom is suggested - but we continue to flee. 
Utopias are crumbling and conservatism is experiencing a renaissance. 
At the same time, the freedom to decide “ to be able to stay” in contrast to “having to leave” currently seems to represent a high value.

This EP, between the two producers from Germany and Ukraine, was created in this field of tension. 
David Heine and Konstantin Kost are already working together on the current AMAS project (Odessa EP) "Freedom From Esacape" adapts the former title of Erich Fromm's central work, which is given a prominent role on this record.

Music and techno are freedom and escape at the same time: transcendence and escapism. In interaction and contradiction at the same time. 
The cover picture was taken on 25 July 1909, when Louis Blériot became the first person to cross the English Channel in an aeroplane with the Blériot XI, which he had designed himself. 
The reversal of the title and the idea for the cover artwork came about during a conversation with the artist Jennifer Mattes in Vienna.

About the tracks:
On the A side, the two protagonists create a world of minimalist dub techno, which also has melodic, flat side strands in its narratives. 
The more than 60 year old fragments from TV interviews with Erich Fromm on the subject of freedom, decisions, constructivism and destruction are presented so densely and rustlingly that you don't feel compelled to follow the lecture. 
Instead, the spoken word corresponds with the minimalist framework of the two pieces. 
The old audio recordings are embedd ed as part of the composition. 
Some of it may be understood and arouse the listener's curiosity, but again and again you get lost in the repetitive swamp of sound, so that you may understand more of the text each time you listen to it without it imposing itself on you.

The two remixes of the first track take a different approach. 
"Save Your Atoll" specifically frames and limits the spoken word in its interpretation and embarks on a hypnotic journey that is less worldly and more futuristic. 
"Anna Kost" goes one step further by literally suffocating the old man's spoken word, as if the destructive drum patterns were trying to shut him up. 
"Freedom From Escape" will be released on 18 October 2024 in a physical edition of 200 records and is available digitally on all common portals.

Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the American dj & producer Black Asteroid (Artoffact Records / CLR).

Bryan Black aka Black Asteroid started his music career as a sound designer and keyboard tech for Prince at Paisley Park Studios in his hometown of Minneapolis. 
While working for Prince, Black proceeded to create his own music under the name Haloblack and then Motor for labels such as Mute and Kompakt.

These records caught the ear of Martin Gore from Depeche Mode. Soon after, Black was on tour with Depeche Mode and recording songs with Martin Gore. 
Together Black and Gore wrote a top 40 single “Man Made Machine”.

In 2011, the debut Black Asteroid single, “Engine 1” introduced Black Asteroid to the world - a unique industrial techno sound that quickly took off, propelling Black to play at clubs such as Berghain and Tresor in Berlin, Khidi In Tbilisi, Fabric and Fold in London and countless major festivals, including being a face of Amsterdam Dance Event. 
The focus was in favor of song structures and vocals in a techno template.

After a string of critically acclaimed EPs on CLR and Electric Deluxe, the debut album “Thrust” was released in 2017 with many cross over singles, featuring vocals from Zola Jesus, Cold Cave and Michele Lamy.

The fashion designer Rick Owens picked up on what was happening, and used Black's music for his runway shows in Paris. The two quickly became friends and collaborators.

In addition to working in the fashion world, BLACK ASTEROID has released a collection of sunglasses with Valley Eyewear and also soundtracked a collection for the designer Raf Simons.

In 2023, Black Asteroid released 2 EPs- “Acid Flesh” on CLR, and “New Flesh” on Pls.Uk - showcasing a more experimental sound, utilizing vocals and guitars.

In early 2024, Black Asteroid will release a string of new singles followed by the second album, “Infinite Darkness” on Art of Fact records. 
This highly anticipated album was produced over the span of 5 years, and will feature some incredible talent such as Ian Astbury of The Cult, Actors, Louisahhh, Michele Lamy, Front Line Assembly, BLUSH_RESPONSE and Speedy J.

This truly original, crossover record, goes where techno has never gone before. 
Guitars and vocals feature prominently on the album, alongside a wall of modular synths to create solid machine driven grooves and atmospheres, that coalesce with the live performances, a sound that is exclusively Black Asteroid.

And few display this talent better than Detroit originals Scan 7.

Part of the hallowed Underground Resistance family, Scan 7 first broke out in the mid- 90s with a series of jacking machine funk 12”s that showcased their savvy for self- control - a faculty they have demonstrated in releases year-on-year since.

Highlighting this continuous font of vitality, Tresor records has returned to the source and is proud to announce the reissue of Scan 7’s debut LP, Dark Territory.

First unleashed on the label in 1996, the album has been remastered from the original DATs by Mike Grinser, augmenting already powerful tracks such as the snake-like, tea- sing Unusual Channel (mixed by the master Blake Baxter), and the harder-edged VII resulting in music that will, without doubt, provoke an enhanced response when the pressure is finally released.

Repressed on vinyl with (slightly) updated artwork, these tracks still sound like a blueprint for the future, testament to the prescience and assurance Scan 7’s leader, Trackmaster Lou, clearly had when writing “I hope you enjoy my records in the phuture to come” in the sleeve notes nearly 30 years ago.

Following an appearance on the 2022 WE ARE NOT ALONE compilation, Berlin via-Toronto resident Callum Magnum presents Pleasure Dome, his debut solo EP on BPitch.

Inspired by time spent as a resident bathhouse DJ at Steamworks Baths in Toronto - as well as his involvement with queer communities at large - Pleasure Dome appeals to a dark, sensual nature, exploring the dynamics of modern sex culture with an almost voyeuristic viewpoint. 
Drawing upon notions of love that can be emotionally distant but deeply sexual, Callum’s productions here lean into both subtle sonic detailings and maximal effects that speak to all kinds of sensorial response. 
Guiding the EP are Callum’s own vocals, delivered in a seductive yet detached manner, as if the narrator is both part of and outside the experience.

Opening the proceedings, the title track gently expands from a distant acid loop, driven forward by a tripped out robotic voice over pummelling hammer bass. 
‘Seductor’ heightens the tension with a faster, bouncing cut of echoing bells and buoyant percussion. 
Heading into a more explosive realm, ‘Welcome To Nu Rave’ features euphoric builds that rise and fall over pounding drums. 
‘Come to Play’ keeps the peaktime energy rolling with industrial leads and playful lasers. 
Closing things off is ‘Dangerous Obsession’, a headspin of distorted percussive effects and pitch bending acid spirals; a fitting climax to the EP.

The album ignites with intricate drum patterns that thunder like tanks across a barren, icy wasteland, while haunting atmospheric elements loom, setting a menacing tone for the journey ahead.
Next, a feverish descent into robot’s nightmare ensues, where mechanical drum liturgies weave relentless tension, immersing listeners in a post-human auditory realm.
As the odyssey progresses, doom-laden horns and mechanized drums merge to unleash subversive, devastating frequencies.
Just when the intensity seems to peak, filthy analog sine waves bubble through obscurity, pushing the boundaries of industrial techno music to its limits. 
Annihilation is the word that resonates here.
Closing the chapter, one of Belgium’s finest producers, Peter Adrienssens aka 6SISS, delivers a sinister remix showcasing his hyper-cerebral syncopated signature - bringing the release to another level of chaos.
“Not for the faint-hearted” is no mere euphemism for this EP; it is a stark warning that demands to be heeded.

Next up on BPitch is a split EP featuring two distinct talents presenting their own strains of shadowy, atmospheric techno.

Lithuanian producer Under Black Helmet has been producing abrasive, industrial cuts since the mid-2010s, channelling the darker spheres of electronic music into highly rhythmic percussive workouts. 
He appeared earlier this year on the WE ARE NOT ALONE PT.7 compilation, and regularly performs in some of the world’s most respected clubs. 
Rommek is an alias of Romek Boyer, a producer and DJ with an extensive background in sound design, and an impressive catalogue of releases that explore intricate sonic arrangements with a highly textural approach.

Opening up the proceedings are two cuts from Under Black Helmet. ‘Slicer’ is a glistening but melancholic journey into intense electronics, with a minimal framework driven forward by subtle semitone shifts in the bassline. 
‘The Games You Play’ leans into sparser surrounds with paired back glitching pitches and a complex web of cross rhythmic drums.

On the flip side, Rommek’s ‘Kiss of Life’ is a densely layered orchestration of pitch bends and stuttering percussion that morphs gradually from swaying synths to operatic wails, toying with the contours of reality. 
Closing things off, the eerily titled ‘The Owls Are Not What They Seem’ builds to a storm of detuned bells and hammerdrill leads, marching further into the woods than might be advised.

White Owl Records are a vinyl and digital label based in Brooklyn, USA who have a focus on live and machine-driven techno from its wonderful underground scene.

Returning for his second release on White Owl is Carlos Aguilar aka Concrete Husband, an exciting artist who has a high pedigree from the world of classical music, has now found his home in techno. 
Not only a producer, he is also an in demand DJ, playing regularly around NYC hotspots, and has also toured Europe this year.

‘Piel’ is an album journey that expresses the artist’s dual sides; the themes of his ambient works and his techno prove strangely similar. 
In this long-form project, Concrete Husband presents his two styles next to each other. 
A searing flute opening delves into a torrent of techno madness, topped with two stellar remixes from techno icons TWR72 and 1morning. 
In all, Concrete Husband takes us from introverted depths to extroverted heights by deftly defying genre.

TWR72 is a revered Dutch maestro who not only runs the Float Records imprint, but has also appeared on Pfirter’s MindTrip, Setaoc Mass’ SK_eleven, Mark Broom’s Beard Man, and Tiga’s Turbo Recordings, amongst many others.

1morning is a Los Angeles-based producer who also brings a solid pedigree and has featured on Deetron’s Character label as well as Céllí’s Mála Ádh, Fixed Rhythms, and Gypnōticå.

The opening track, “Breath on Me,” is a throbbing and shuffling ride, soaked in tribal atmosphere and modular shimmers over a raw groove.

“Arched Back” has a stuttering beat at its core from delayed kick patterns that play under swooning tones and dramatic stripped down sections.

“Heating Up” has an abstract rhythm of rolling drums and tasteful highlights in this interesting analogue cut.

“New Boy” is an almost lo-fi techno take, using a bouncing bassline to fuel this apparent beatless, and jiving trip.

“Ven Aqui” returns to a more driving approach. 
A jackin’ and thundering kick provides the focus, while the alarm-like hook creates an arresting tension in an overall sonic hurricane.

“Your Pulse” takes a step into harder territory with a wall of bass and slicing, chirping accents, but the freaky vibe is really emblazoned from the dark, whispering vocal.

“New Boy (TWR72 Remix)” throws down a punchy reworking aimed at shaking bones on dance floors, where slick detuned hats trade blows with extra effects and sound design details.

The final track is the “Your Pulse (1morning Remix)” that has a regimented 4/4 stance, but totally groove-laden beat with infectious energy from claps and bass jabs.

Each track from the original album is stripped to its raw core and transplanted into a new body, creating a collection that feels like a true horror sequel.

Ten hand-selected producers, chosen by Vexillary, were tasked with reimagining different tracks from Horror in Dub through their unique lenses. 
From the industrial IDM rework of "Insurrection" by Blush Response, to the breathtaking deep-dub update of "My Vertigo" by bass music veteran Leon Switch, to the glitch- heavy reface of "Paris Spleen" by the always innovative VHS Head, and beyond, each of the 10 collaborators has breathed new life into the album, turning it into an even more diverse and futuristic output.

With Horror ReDubs, Vexillary offers more than just a remix album—it’s a complete reinvention of fear itself, lurking within the circuits of a digital wasteland.

Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the American dj & producer Uun (Ego Death / Mord Records).

Uun's techno blends widescreen grayscale imagery with propulsive dancefloor pressure. 
Whether crafting what Hardwax dubs "straight ahead techno juggernauts" or deep, introspective tools, his work is grounded in a masterful command of atmosphere and texture.

Uun developed his interest in fringe sounds as a guitarist and drummer in his hometown of Kansas City before shifting his attention to electronic music in 2012. 
This led him to relocate to Detroit, where he spent seven years pushing deeper into the underground techno scene, refining his production and performance methods. 
Between the Midwest and several periods in Berlin—another city he's found a deep connection to—he's honed a style that's allowed his music to nimbly navigate between different subgenres, "quietly infiltrating" the genre from multiple angles at once.

Uun's sound and his ability to mold it into a variety of forms has captured the attention of lauded techno labels like Mord, Semantica, and Soma. 
On his own Ego Death imprint, he pushes past genre confines and deeper into his music's underlying themes, exploring existentialism, duality, and the role of the artist in the modern era. 
His first full length, 2022's Derealization, interrogated dreams through rebuilding memories of liminal spaces, and on his latest Ego Death release, 2024's Platform Decay, he laces his tracks with a poignant criticism of social media-driven cultural homogenization while doubling down on his own uncompromising sound.

As a live performer, Uun distills years of his studio practice into cathartic sets that build off his productions while pushing them into exploratory new territory. 
His live show has taken him to legendary clubs like Berlin's Tresor, Tbilisi's Khidi, and Brookyln's Basement, and alongside the decade-plus of releases under his belt, it's safe to say Uun's infiltration of techno might not be so quiet for much longer.

The American DJ and producer has a long history in the scene and today we are thrilled to host this big mix through his sound! 🔥🔥🔥

Hailing from Australia’s dynamic electronic scene, Pillai’s deft touch brings a unique depth to the catalog, emphasizing subtle complexity and rich textural layering.

“Korg Bleep” doubles down on the playful and mechanized, its resonant bleeps fluttering like coded transmissions over a framework of sharp, rattling percussion. 
The title track, ”Perihelix”, spins a web of cyclical synth patterns underpinned by a weighty yet agile low-end, deftly navigating between micro-fractured details and a steady, propulsive drive.
