Berne are a London-based duo merging ethereal vocals and dreamy soundscapes into emotive reverb-laden alt-pop songs. Combining wistful lyrics concerning inconsistencies in society and the environment with dark melodies and haunting sound layers, Berne create intriguing sonic atmospheres.

Their upcoming first release ‘Oceans’ is driven by dramatic vocal lines, earthy drums and a forceful message. It expresses the struggle to understand why people are threatened by diversity and criticizes societies for only protecting and providing for their own.

Berne's debut EP Stay will be out on Friday 25th September. 

It is a collection of singles including climate emergency anthems 'Stay' and 'Heat', animal rights tune 'To The Lions' and refugee crisis song 'Oceans' in its original and acoustic versions.

The EP will be released together with Berne's new Low Impact website. 

We have decided to replace our dirty old website with a Low Impact Website. One that is 100% powered by on-site solar energy, atmospheric air, and water cooling in California. Everything about this website is designed and implemented in a way that keeps energy consumption to the minimum and shares Berne with the world without harming it. You will notice we are doing without data-heavy elements like images and videos, all of this tremendously reduces data transfers and consequently energy consumption.

We are on a mission to get as many artist websites converted into low impact websites as possible! 1 low impact website is insignificant on its own, but multiply that by 500 and collectively we would have made a real difference.
