From introspective minimal pieces to wobbly house and breakbeat cuts, spicy electro inputs as well as airy breakdowns, she seamlessly flutters between the old-school and the new to form her distinctive sounds. 

She's a SWU.FM Resident and co-founder of ‘Atypical’- a club night which has been pushing the Bristol’s music scene forward with fresh bookings never seen before in Bristol such as Vlada, Z@P & Ogazon. Having already made her mark on a number of prestigious platforms including Resident Advisor, Fuse, Hidden, Stump to name a few, her masterful command of all things house and techno have seen her share the stage with artists like Zip, Vlada, Raresh, The Ghost & DJ Masda.

Super Venus is a French/German deejay and graphic designer living in Berlin and floating in the musical field of downtempo, breakbeats, spacy techno and off-centered progressive house. She will play on Tuesday night 30th of April at the 7 Years Basic Moves party in Funke Ghent but will pass by before to Kiosk radio to bring a special set dedicated to a sound very close to Super Venus heart: dub music. Nies is the creative alias of Denise Pakes, the founder of the Rotate imprint and co-founder of the Rings of Neptune agency &  Kōrero. Originally from the Netherlands with Moluccan, Denise can be found juggling between Paris and Berlin, engaged continuously in musical exploration, audio-visual collaborations with like-minded artists, and organizing events with cultural activation in mind.

After studying ‘Image & Sound’ in the Art Academy & Conservatory of The Hague, Denise became increasingly interested in the ever-expanding audio-visual universe and its peculiarities. Persistently curious and relentlessly passionate in video, photography, and music, she found the natural outlets for her artistic expression, which led her to create her label and agency, explore the art of DJing, and produce both video and music. She graduated a master study "Création Musicale & Arts Sonores" at INA GRM.

Since falling in love with synthesizers a few years ago, music creation is now one of her main creative outputs and an infinite source for inspiration and joy. Warm soundscapes, strange textures, subtle atmospheres, and broad bass lines — her musical intentions either as a DJ or as a music producer are clear: to excite the listeners through an excellent curation of tracks, flowing organically, stretching time and bending space in pure harmony.
