"Guruvastakam" is a devotional music track produced by Sounds of Isha, a group of musicians associated with the Isha Foundation. The track's intention is to evoke a sense of love and reverence towards the Guru or spiritual teacher, through the use of traditional Indian instruments and chants. The track was uploaded to SoundCloud by a fan for others to enjoy, without any commercial intent.

Sadhguru has often said "Most of the time you are thinking about life, not living life". How very true! We spend more time thinking about yesterday or worrying about tomorrow. The hindi word "kal" refers to both tomorrow and yesterday - probably equating them as they are both non-existential, given that our experience of life is only the moment that we are in right now. However, the "kal" is where our mind seems to spend a considerable amount of time. If only we could ​be constantly aware that this moment is the only reality, we could live our life fully. It would be a celebration of being alive. This song very beautifully captures this sentiment playing with the hindi word "kal" to accentuate the plight of the mind caught between the fictitious kal's. “Eppadi Thaan…” was written by OothukaduVenkataSubbaiyar, and looks at life from the perspective of a devotee (of Krishna, in this song).
The song describes how once a person is devout, all they see is sweetness around them. The buzzing of bees becomes a song, Krishna’s mischief become endearing pranks, and his many heroics become awe-inspiring legends. Such is the sweetness of devotion that it transform’s the devotees experience of life in powerful ways.
Devotion has been an important part of spiritual processes in India. Stories of Radhe Krishna, Mira Bhai, and the Nayanmaars have been told and retold for centuries, and many devotees are seen as no differentthan the Divine. 

Sadhguru say, “Devotion is not an act; it is not directed towards something or the other; the object of devotion is immaterial. It is just that with devotion, you have dissolved all the resistance in you so that the divine can transpire like breath. This outpouring of devotion by Sadhguru Shri Brahma, a yogi of enormous proportions who walked this land about a century ago, captures the complete surrender that he experiences for the Adi Guru.

The group members are full-time volunteers with Isha Foundation, living a life of dedication and austerity; thus, their inspirational songs are usually created after a full day's activity, due to their passion and zest to share a different dimension of the foundation's work.
