This is the first CD in our Bhajan series; a small collection of Kirtans composed by our Vaisnava Saints rendered in very sweet and beautiful melodies. 
The Kirtaniyas offer this devotional CD at the lotus feet of their beloved Gurudeva - Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja and for the pleasure of all. 
Just one week after the divine departure of our Srila Gurudeva, this album was recorded in a very simple enviroment in Sri Vrindavan, India by The Kirtaniyas: Vijay Krsna das, Sarasvati dasi, Rasika dasi and engineered and mixed by Kishori Mohan Das. We are also very honored to feature Kishori Mohan Das and Sudevi dasi (vocals, mridanga, Karatalas) on the album, we look up to them as our older brother and sister

Adi Shankara emphasizes the importance of devotion for God as a means to spiritual development and to liberation from the cycle of birth and death. The prayer leaves one in no doubt that the renunciation of our egotistical differences and surrender to God makes for salvation. Many scholars hold that this composition encapsulates with both brevity and simplicity the substance of all Vedantic thought found in whatever other works that Adi Shankara wrote.

Color is a product of the breaking up of light, the basis of our ability to see. Vairagya is an unbroken or “free-of-all-distortion” state that can light the world. It is only in a state of vairagya one can see as It Is. 

Essentially, vairagya means to be as the Creator intended – not bound to any particular aspect of life, the only bond with the Beyond, the source of Creation. Vairagya is the second album in Sounds of Isha’s “Mantra Series,” and consists of chants sung by Isha Brahmacharis.

Mystics have always used sound in ways far beyond the realm of mere entertainment - by breathing in an ethereal dimension into simple rustic sounds from life around to give us a taste of the beyond. A simple twang of the ektara often did what a thousand words could not do to touch people.

Sounds of Isha is Sadhguru's own home grown, anomalous group of 'musicians' - inspired by their deep yearning and sense of gratitude.
