The pair have springboarded from their last release with Chequered Wax at the tail end of last year, where they garnered support from industry heavyweight channels like Les Yeux Orange.

They've also drafted in label friend Tech Support to give Energy some more welly.

Premiere: Sonic Juncture - Time I Stare (Acid Rework)

In celebration of the release of INTRP005 from Manchester based producer Dulha, Interpolate recruit leftfield bass and techno champion Pluralist to fashion Dulha's 'Lotus' into a bewitching UK Techno delight.

Dulha is a Manchester based producer with a respect for dance music of all kinds, striving to create music with intricacy and rawness. He takes influence from an array of styles, ranging from UK variants such as Grime and Jungle to other genres such as Electro, Ambient and Soundtrack.

In April 2021, Dulha's debut EP 'C-Life / Lotus' was released on Interpolate Records. With more recent additions to his catalogue, Dulha contributed a half time groover packed with plenty of weighty bass to the Daytimers collectives second charity compilation in response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in India.

Pluralist (Will Bowen) is an up-and-coming, Birmingham/Bristol based DJ, originally hailing from Cheltenham. His most recent release, ‘Gallak’, was picked up by Circular Jaw, gaining support from artists like Hypho, Doctor Jeep & Madam X.

He also runs Module 8, a new party in Bristol, focusing on broken, stompy techno. His next release, “Different Sides’, is coming out this October with Chequered Wax. The idea behind this 4 track EP is music that fits both the club and sit down listening.

The debut release from @jonselbo on his label, @troubleshootlbl, consists of a three-track EP built for the club. From rave-infused electro to pumping 140 BPM techno, Selbo keeps the dancefloor in mind at all times with TRBLSHT001, set to arrive on May 6th.

The opening track, “Zone Expansion”, sets the tone with its intoxicating chords and devilishly dark acid lines, paying homage to the rave sounds of the late 1980s and early 1990s which have heavily inspired Selbo.

Janovski is a French DJ from Nancy who started exploring electronic music through writing. He had the chance to interview some prominent artists like Laurent Garnier, Daniel Avery or Cinthie. At the same time, he experienced the immense potential of turntables and started to mix for his own pleasure. In 2021, he joined the Nancy-based collective La Zintrie and got to getting familiar with the local electronic scene by playing in festivals like Nancy Jazz Pulsations, Jardin du Michel, and in more underground clubs such as KALT in Strasbourg.

In this 1-hour mix, he presents a heavy collection of hard-hitting tracks that draw from a multitude of influences. Definitely club-oriented, his musical selection explores the current breakbeat and techno scene from all over the world."

Dweezil is the moniker of producer and DJ Dylan Martens. He has released music under his previous alias; Barbara Taipan, for the Super Utu and Ears on Earth compilation Household Choirs. The change of name signifies a stylistic shift towards “techier” sounds for Dylan, both in his production and the tracks he plays when DJ’ing. 


The mix he presents here consists exclusively of Australian artists, many of whom hail from his home town of Naarm (Melbourne). The mix also features unreleased tracks from Meanjin’s (Brisbane’s) Axon Growth Factor and from Dweezil himself from a forthcoming self release EP which will be released later this year.

Back in the hot seat for the third release on his imprint Troubleshoot Recordings, is label boss Jon Selbo. After a well-received debut on his label, Selbo puts forward a four-track EP combining a variety of club cuts ranging from snappy breaks to synth-heavy techno. The Cursor EP is a perfect demonstration of Selbo’s breadth of production skills and outlook on how he puts together an EP.

Opening the record, “Pixel Shift” sports a devilish square bass and atmospheric lead lines gelled together with tight breakbeats. Kicking things off with dancefloor euphoria during the breakdown as the main melody bubbles towards the surface.

Shortly after that strong start, “Falling” boasts a hooky vocal, floating pads, colossal stabs and syncopated percussion which help Selbo produce this up-tempo, peak-time club track ready for any dancefloor.

After wrapping up the A side, the title track “Cursor” commences with a cinematic intro that builds towards fast-paced, obnoxious breaks tied with an arpeggiated bassline, both topped with menacing 303 acid.

Closing the EP, Selbo stays in the fast lane with his track “Tubular”. Stripped back raw percussion-filled grooves accompanied with trancey chords and rave stabs set this one up to be a fan favourite. Subtle vocal samples littered throughout the track help to round off the EP with plenty of energy.

With her first release expected to come out next year, tildatoonz merges soulful vocals, layered harmonies and jazz influenced chords with strong basslines, upbeat breaks and intricate percussive elements to shape her unique take on electronic music.

@Henryrymer first started out on his brother’s Technics at the age of 15 and was also later exposed to a very tight knit scene in Dundee where he learnt his craft by just watching residents at the small town club, Reading Rooms. 

Since then, he went on to DJ throughout uni at clubs across Manchester to his more recent years playing as a resident at the club night Origins in London. This has seen him DJ in venues such as Mick’s Garage (now known as Colour Factor), NTs Loft and Corsica Studios and his regular Night Tales, which he has also become a resident for. VA Compilation Vol. 4

Premiere: Main Phase - Original Style (Dansu Discs)

Dansu Discs were kind enough to let SOM run another track premiere for their annual 'Dansu for Mental Health'. Super gassed to be involved in such a special project.

Stepping up to the plate is Stones Taro, a super talented Tokyo based house & breaks producer who has been causing quite a stir the last few years. Taro has released some incredible music on labels such as Scuffed Recordings & NC4K. This man is definitely one to keep a look out for!

Premiere: Stones Taro - Hold On

@simplertimesuk is a Sheffield/ Manchester based record label made up of four close friends who will be releasing their own material as well as putting on intimate parties.


Their debut release ‘Wrong Conversation’, a limited run vinyl only EP came out at the beginning of last month and has seen support from Jane Fitz, Molly, Dark Sky, Edmondson, Tom VR and Aleksandir to name a few.


‘This mix is a selection of some of our favourite tracks at the moment as well as some of our own upcoming/unreleased material.'
