Portugese/Italian artist Vhyce returns to Street Tracks with the impressive three track EP, ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’. Having graced the label with the ‘Far From Reality’ EP in April 2021, this exciting producer follows up with a trio of ethereal and infectious house tracks.

Breezy and rich in analogue sounds, Vhyce’s Italian roots can be heard in the Italo-disco inspired composition of all three cuts on the EP, as luscious synth melodies and chunky arpeggiated basslines are a common thread here, with every track being a sure-fire winner.

Having already released for esteemed labels like Pets Recordings, Sincopat, Monaberry, Future Disco and Boogie Angst, Vhyce is certainly making good progress in a busy and cluttered scene and is most definitely an artist to watch over the coming months.

Life and Death founder Manfredi Romano aka DJ Tennis debuts on Aus with ‘Repeater’ - here he delves deep into his own cosmos creating two cuts that are uniquely spacey whilst playful and powerful. DJ Seinfeld needs no introduction. His DJ Kicks mix and debut album for Ninja Tune have both been critically acclaimed. His ravey mix of 'Repeater' is a tension builder, his version simmers away for seven minutes patiently dropping metallic stabs and detroit fm synths licks. Manfredi’s career spans over two decades as agent, manager, promoter, label owner, dj and producer. His releases are few and far between so, it’s an honour for him to trust us with his art.

New York’s indie disco freaks Phenomenal Handclap Band are back with a second single on Toy Tonics: "Jail". With remixes by Detroit’s Waajeed and Marcel Vogel of Lumberjacks in Hell. Including a club edit by Toy Tonics head honcho Kapote.

The band was responsible for one of Toy Tonics' biggest tracks in 2018: "Judge Not". The Ray Mang versions became a hit on open minded dancefloors around the globe. With support from DJs like DJ Harvey, Cassius and Gilles Peterson (who put it in his „best tracks of the year“ list) but also more house DJs like Berlin’s Keinemusik Crew, Soundstream or Superpitcher.

The band members are kind of heroes to many connoisseurs of the funk/ disco scene. The band leader Daniel Collas was playing keys in Amy Winehouse' legendary backing band. Other members are connected to Mark Ronson’s crew or San Francisco's Stones Throw universe.. just to give you the bigger picture. With Phenomenal Handclap Band they blend the unique vibe of 1970ies Power-Soul in the tradition of Charles Stepney and Rotary Connection with today’s new disco vibe. Parcels, Toro Y Moi, Roosevelt are not that far.

Important fact: All played live, no samples. Mixed by the champs at DFA. The band is part of Toy Tonics’ masterplan to expand their dancevibes into more live played scenarios.. stepping out of the strict DJ context. 

Fun fact: Paul McCartney wrote the band a letter saying how much he loved their music when he first heard the band on BBC Radio 1.

After DGTL’s first ever Various Artists release it is time to hand over the momentum of the 9th release to one artist only: Lauer. Phillip Lauer has been producing and remixing for decades. He has over 250 remixes to his name, collaborations with Gerd Janson, Fabrizio Mammarella and Tim Sweeney and various EPs and albums under his Lauer moniker. For the DGTL release Lauer gives us the three-tracker Topo Chico doused with his signature sound.

Starting off with Inkel Jet 880, maybe best described as a modern Italo track, but without the typical accented vocals, giving you a mean and lean vibe throughout. The thick and synthy bass-line combined with the sharp chords, thumping beat and two effective breaks make Inkel Jet 880 an energetic ride straight to the dance floor.

The title track Topo Chico is a softer sounding track with a swinging bassline and high-pitched arrangement that builds up to stretched out chords, giving it all a dreamy yet spirited feel. From here on the track continues to build up to various highs, by leaving out the chords here and there, but adding some bells instead, while slowly but surely the chords drop by again and makes Topo Chico all the more blissful.

The EP ends with the Topo Chico Tribute mix which starts with an acidic bass line that drops into a bath of soft sounding bells and Lauer’s signature stretched out chords, while the arrangement gives the track a nostalgic vibe, turning more current later on in the track. The tribute ends where it all started, with the thick Acid bassline, making the Topo Chico Tribute mix a perfect ending to the EP.

The sleeve of DGTL’s 9th release Topo Chico is yet again custom designed by the duo Boris Acket and Tim Straver.

Oh my god they did it! Good Guy Mikesh and Filburt once again joined forces to bring you a listening experience we humbly call „The Past, The Present, The Future EP“.   
In case these names don’t ring a bell, use a so called search engine and check their body of work. Someone told me that there is absolutely no other doing what they be doing. Anyway, back to the EP. Mikesh and Filburt did some cleaning up on their hidden hard drive. They found some unfinished gems which they polished until it became what you are about to hear. Next to the remastered classics ‚Gold Snake‘ and ‚Come on‘ we offer you three brand new originals. And let us tell you that these tunes go down smooth like milk and honey. The combination of Filburt’s dancefloor experience and Mikesh’s pop-appeal is undeniable. This results in a mixture of deep house, disco and euphoria which will make you wanna lift your hands in the air and grab your tissue for those tears of joy at the same time.

Paredes began his career in the late 80's in the Kumite in Hong Kong. At round 2, he suffered a broken leg and reconsidered his career being a natural badass. After a long exile in a hidden temple in the lower Karakoram, an inner voice led him to the art of producing electronic music.

One day in the year of 2009, Paredes aka Flo was practicing new karate moves. Him and his sparring partner Axel decided to team up and create ultimate peaktime electro bangers to the crowd. Wazabi was born. Together they had many successful releases and gigs across Europe and the US.

A few years later - older, wiser, better, and grandmasters of Ninjitsu, they put the project on hold.

From now on Flo was on his mission alone again. But his sound has advanced. To something more melodic, something deep/techy/80s/house flavored. Music that Jean-Claude Van Damme would be doing his splits on a F14 Tomcat, while Top Gun’s Maverick is flying at supersonic speed.
